Had a drink with my friend last night and he has been a VIP20 user for years and he said all this while his speed is 40+Mbps and direct download will be 5.5MBps. Wow. laugh.gif

We normally keep silent for these sort of mis-caps. laugh.gif

Well, it makes me think if TM has quietly upgraded his package to 50Mbps. hmm.gif Let me ask him in the next outing about his upload speed. Both of us just live few streets away, looks like our area's UniFi is pretty good and reliable. biggrin.gif

After hearing this, turn off BTU and router, wait 3mins and turned back on. Go to speedtest.net and test my speed. Slapped my face few times and  bangwall.gif  many tiimes and it happened, shocking.gif

Also, the only latest news I received from TM, came out 14hours ago :

Yours also upgraded? The way my friend said it seems that it didn't happen to him recently, been there for very long time ago.

Well, it depends because we have not produced any router or BTU for end users. Let's see I'm interested to know too. tongue.gif

Im on VIP20 worth to upgrade to 30mbps?
*
Usually people from VIP20 upgrade to 50Mbps or 100Mbps. tongue.gif
30Mbps is just a 10Mbps increase of download speed and 10Mbps decrease for upload speed.

If you ask me, not worth to go for 30Mbps from VIP20. Isn't 30Mbps cheaper than VIP20?

Actually if you ask me now, I wouldn't mind upgrading to 30Mbps from 20Mbps now. 50Mbps just great for download and streaming but after checking the logs, 30Mbps is adequate for a family of 5. biggrin.gif
*
Some people claimed that VIP 20 is more stable compared to Advance 30. tongue.gif
To me, upgrading from VIP 5>VIP 10>Advance 30 is a blessing for me even I'm only using it by myself. tongue.gif

It is lot cheaper than VIP20. Worth subscribing imo
*
Honestly, I don't know if VIP20>Advance 30 is an upgrade or not because the price decreases. laugh.gif

Its a complete new plan. No questions as VIP is no longer the package offered though many is still on VIP packages. Price yes, its definitely gives us little to worry. Otherwise, TM looking to discontinue VIP5, VIP10.

Based on news!

It seems like TM does have the plans to discontinue VIP plans, I don't think it is available for new subscribers anymore. hmm.gif

QUOTE(ComradeZ @ May 11 2016, 04:09 PM)
Hey guys, still deciding whether should I get unifi or not. Currently using maxis 2mbps at RM90/m

I've read some of the problem with unifi, but not sure if its true or not and since you guys already own it, maybe you can answer it from your own experiences. So here is the questions:
1. If my internet slow/problem, would the customer service give instant reply to the problem (live in Shah Alam) ?
2.  If I download something from the cloud ie: gigabytes of photos or videos overnight (I edit photos and videos for a living mostly wedding) would it be interrupted and maybe corrupt? (experienced in maxis)
3. If my roommate watch hypptv while I on mmo, would it effect the ping on my mmo?
4. If I play mmo and suddenly a roommate downloaded/streaming drama, would it effect my ping on mmo?

Thanks in advance.
*
Of course, UniFi is better.

Hey guys, got a mail from TM that my VIP10 has been upgraded to Unifi 30, and was instructed in mail that i should turn off my modem (the silver one i assume) for 5 minutes, since i'm not home, i asked my mom to shut it off and turn it back on after 5 minutes, right now its not able to connect to internet.

Just curious what else do you guys do other than shutting down the modem?
*
For me and some of us, we didn't even need to restart, the speed was already upgraded. blink.gif

Hmm, when i got that mail, i teamviewed my desktop at home to do a speed test and its still on 10Mbps (through LAN), that's why i asked my mom to do a restart, but now the router isn't getting any IP i assume since internet is not accessible now.
*
But that's the only thing needs to be done, restart BTU. blink.gif
Unless it suddenly spoils. sweat.gif

Please call 100.

I just got my VIP5 installed end of March this year.
Why they still offer to me if they are going to discontinue it?
*
Not sure but that was the initial plan. Maybe they changed their mind and thanks for informing, most of the new subscribers on this thread have opted for Advance plans instead of VIP plans.

My friends using 30Mbps also gets the same result as yours.

Mine dropped from 102Mbps to 94Mbps.  doh.gif
*
Then, it must be something wrong with TM's side. It was 32Mbps since I got it in July, then only this week or last weekend started to drop. mad.gif bangwall.gif
