Is Galayx PAG6800XT a good choice for my mobo since i am using stock power supply.

The 73XX, 76XX series of cards arent really power hungry monsters, they dont even need any extra power connectors to the cards themselves, so running a 400 watter PS should be more than sufficient, even if your going to OC your card.

btw if the model of the GC is the same while one is AGP and other is PCI-E is it the performance same? AGP only can 8X while PCI-E can 16X.. curious about this.

I paired my P4 2.8 with P4P800-X with a pair of Corsair's DDR400 ram and it managed to do 3.82Ghz. Was earlier running with hynix rams and it only did 3.3Ghz.

So the max stable OC was 3.82Ghz.

Your proc is a northwood or prescott?

Yup, prescott really hot compare with northwood. But OC performence is much better than northwood.
Nop, not using watercool. Using XP-90C. Idle 38-42 degree and load is 45-52(max) degree.

you know la....using p4p800x the vcore reading gila gila 1. mine at auto reads at 1.6v+ like what you see in the screenshot.

i try set to 1.55v and try oc see how it perform. what i impress on this northwood is that the temp. This morning i switch on and the idle temp is 26C at stock!! even last night i try at 3.36GHz the temp is not over than 42C after looping 3dmark. Nor i worry more on my northbridge oz the temp is something like 40C+-

just for advice... for my pentium 4 640 which happens to be a 3.2Ghz 2MB and 800mhz chip, i am using a stock cooler at the moment and its idling at55 degrees . I do know that the prescott cores are hot but for advice since i believe there will be expert advisors here, what can i do to reduce the idle temp to around 40 degrees.

And iat the moment i can only afford HSF sorta cooling. WHat do you guys/ girls suggest me to get?

I have to re-installing my OS...after changing proc (from a 2.8A to a 2.8E) the whole system seem to have slowed down...dunno why....

i wan a PSU which has very stable 12V and gives my proc stable Vcore.my cheap PSU Vcore can fluctuate up to 0.050V when operating even at idle.thts limiting me from my OC.i've settled much on my RAM problem as i managed to squeeze till 256MhzX2 from my KVR PC2700 BT-J RAM after installing some RAM heatsinks.now the problem is my VCORE!!!!

my PC auto restarts when VCore drop below 1.550V.actually i set my BIOS at 1.6V.VCore currently can fluctuate between 1.548-1.600.if i were to set my Vcore higher by a notch,it would be 1.7V already.very dangerous to me.but i've seen ppl in other forums using air cooling did tht before at 1.7V for a northwood.

i set it at 1.55v in BIOS. But the reading in cpuz is crazily read at 1.65v+ 

now running at 235*14

Dun say P4P800X cant go high FSB. I can pump my P4P800X (spare mobo) up to 4GHz.

Oh you used the P4P800-X before?I tried to search around the function in bios before but end up couldn't found any settings. So until now i cannot change the divider on the Asus mobo.
