Sorry to hear that. From looking the solution on youtube, I can only find that reformatting the memory card would be the solution to the issue. You can try searching Youtube, there are 2 videos that might help, one is from Good Game Guys and the other is from latestvitagames. Do try and check em. Their videos are on the top of the list if you type in "psv C1-2741-1", at least in my case.

Thank you for input!

Yes, I would like to reformat and see if it stop behaving such but before that, I must back up the game with save data too which I can't... I could still load the game save for those with physical cart, but not so fortunate on digital copy where the game "corrupted?" with the save data bangwall.gif Safe mode rebuild database didn't help at all...

Setsuna, Grand Kingdom, Exist Archive, Secret of Mana, Sen no Kiseki 2, Princess is money-hungry, Ys Origin, Soul Sacrifice Delta...

so many games, all those time spent on game progresses went down to drain cry.gif

I am afraid the worst case could possibly be an expired memory card, I heard that 32GB & 64GB tend to get these errors since people downloaded many digital games into them, and chances are the card become defective... it's not even 2 years old yet (and warranty gone), such short life, I can't believe Sony is marking such shitty proprietary card with exorbitant price tag! !! vmad.gif

Thanks, bud, I knew such option exists but This is what I hated, honestly, BIG NO, NO WAY...
Since I can't even be sure that will back up my game if I can't even back up to PC since the apps are hit hard with C1-2741-4 error... What if it still won't back-up? Then I have to go all over the department to cry for refund? I bet they don't care and just take your money...
Unless it's certain that I can get the game save data back up, I will not go to this step (I am using Japan PSN, that's why I'm afraid I will have trouble communicating with their customer service if it fails blush.gif )

Apparently, the vita software is poorly programmed, it is theorized that if it went into sleep mode during downloading or updating, chances are high the app will get corrupted and affected other existing apps as well ((the Princess is Money-hungry does not get any update yet it was also hit with the error), thus turns out very true, only digital copies that do these shits, especially when there are too many digital games there updates... now, all of my earlier digital games pretty much do all these, except two mini-app games that survive the rampant error I downloaded recently after all those big updates of previous games ... damn Sony...

Try the other steps first before formatting, as mentioned in the video. If nothing works, then you should try formatting, following how latestvitagames does it. Subscribing to PS+ doesn't only give you the ability to save game progress on the cloud, there are other benefits such as free games. And if it cannot before format, and can after format, you still have that advantage that you don't have to worry if the memory card choose to be corrupted again. Anyway, I hope you find a way to solve the issue and keep us updated. smile.gif

Thank you for advice, @Mubarak90. So far nothing works... leaving only formatting...

PS+ would be my last resort for my game saves certainly... it's already annoying when getting those C2-12828-1 errors from time to time which somehow may go away after some time, but this C1 2741 4 is such disease that is so frustrating and caused other apps to behave the same way...
Hopefully, it's only the game app that get corrupted, if the save data can't be backed up to PS+, that would mean the whole things corrupted altogether or worrst defective memory card, will know if I can't find any other way than just shove out extra $ to get PS+ and try

hhmmm, why wouldn't Sony just enables CMA to pick save data aside from of the app, not like they give a damn about Vita now anymore hmm.gif ... I know that's another way which is kinda risky but if Sony leaves me no choice and continue to disappoint, then that's my answer to their aloof attitude which drives me to take the low road...

I understand, and I too find it quite baffling that Sony didn't also backup the save game when they backup the game using CMA, not to mention that there isn't an option to backup the PS Vita save games using CMA.

PS Vita is on it's last leg already, which is very sad to me since I actually like the PS Vita. It's very capable when it first launch, and it's still far more powerful than the new 3DS.

Hopefully your problem will be solved at the very least upon reformatting and accessing the safe mode step.

Indeed... The vita was considered a setback, seeing how they started ambitiously for a next gen handheld and then slyly gave it up after the launching of PS4, they were trying too hard, and eventually sidelined vita hoping the success of PS4 could overshadow its failure which it does.

I don't find myself too fond sitting on couch watchin and playing the console all day, at least at my age now unlike back when I was younger, I am more casual gamer now and prefer playing the game while on the move, that's why console doesn't apply to me anymore! How sad and disappointed on the VITA treatment by its own creator while it was a decent handheld, the hardware itself is quite ok (except memory card), just poorly programmed and full with glitches.

Also, all those proprietary moves and strategies aiming to thwart piracy ended up hurting their consumer base more so than the pirates who eventually broke the code anyway... Say, henkaku. (Funny, all later FW updates were to address the piracy more than tackling the system glitches, the hell sony, I would put bet on pirates to unlock the potential of Vita than to rely on those current suckas at SCE...) Honestly, if PS+ fails to get all my game saves, I plan join the pirate rank and move away from Sony consumer base, since I am currently self learning some programming skills, it's a good way to hone my program/coding knowledge and skills devil.gif

Yeah, PS Vita was really fast to get sidelined by Sony actually, even before the launch of PS4. It's because they have a different vision for the PSV compared to most consumer does. They first sold the PSV for more than RM1k, and you still can't play any games on the console after that unless you also bought a compulsory memory card, which is far-far too overpriced for what it does. They planned that with PSV, you don't have to rely on smartphones for social media and stuff, which means, you'll be fine with a lower spec phone, as you can do most of the things on PSV (no, it doesn't even come close).

Now, Sony really doesn't want to sell a portable console as it'll probably fail as smartphones are the centre for portable entertainment, and a hybrid console will only eat the market for PS4.

It would be great if Sony would make a new system that allows us to play our PS Vita games up-rendered to HD or Full HD, at a constant 30fps or 60 fps. But well, I do know that no PS Vita 2.0 or Pro is coming from Sony, as they definitely want to move away from this name.

They are comfortable with PS4 now, that's the comfy zone they will not come out of atm... I don't care about they have any new gaming products, I have pretty much lost faith on them, like you mentioned, the exorbitant price tag plus shitty quality (lots of glitches)...

And I just found out there was a case just like mine online, 32GB card, bombarded with the same errors C1-2741-4 (Apparently, this is one error associated with a zombie memory card...), identical issues as he described from blank bubble, disappeared bubbles after rebuild database, can't back up save even though it's for physical game etc... It was a dying memory card... NO cure but only hope it was still under warranty (not for me)... Many said forget 64GB and go for 32GB, looks like the latter also face the same quality issue... Expensive yet shitty, what a joke...

Well, I don't wanna put my money on their plate anymore, after all these consumer experiences with them... Secret of Mana 2 Remake is the last game (if there will be 3, then that's the last) i would still bother with my vita...

They really shouldn't be doing the proprietary memory card in the first place. This is one of their biggest mistake with PSV, plus, selling it at such price.

Currently, Sony is getting traction back with their mirrorless cameras, tvs and bluetooth headphones/speakers. So I do hope they manage to get the same innovation onto their phones and gaming products too.

What mentioned from the videos are that one of the reason people are facing such issue is due to frequent ejecting/inserting the memory card. Is yours because of that?

No, not this PSV slim which I locked and dedicated for JPN PSN, solely... barely removed the card since I bought the PSV slim with it... On the contrary, my first phat PSV is constantly switching between HK and MY accounts, so yeah, those 16 & 8 GB cards supposed to suffer the most if that's the case.

With 32GB, it has the most contents out of those cards... many titles were downloaded to this one, many updates here and there, so could be this wearing it off... but still, it could only take beating for 2 years, not to mention I barely played more than 10 hrs a week, sometimes less than 20hrs a month since I bought it... that's probably the worst memory disk in the market...

Oh? That's weird. That means it's not undergoing much abuse in the first place. I thought it would only affect those who kept swapping the memory card, which could possibly trigger this issue.

How is it that it didn't work? You got it on the PS Vita, but it failed to launch after you press the bubble, prompting error?

Oh? It failed to see the game through the transfer system? That's new. Usually it should appear over there both on PS Vita or PS3. Have you tried checking youtube if anybody managed to transfer the game? Maybe it's due to the different region? Huhu

You bought the game on Asia PSN over on PS3 but cannot find to transfer to your same account on the PS Vita? Sometimes it could be due to different account also.
