I second that. EOS R5 coming out soon, if you are not in urgent, you can actually wait awhile.

If those specs don't mean anything, you can get a cheap EOS R and spare some cash for RF lenses biggrin.gif
*
Good thing I haven't bought the R yet. Gonna wait for the R5 now and use my 1DX in the meantime. Here's hoping that the R5 won't cost something like RM20k sweat.gif

maybe zeiss 24-70mm not that great but for the price it win over sony gm 24-70mm..2.6k vs 7.3k lol
as long as it constant apperture im good with it..
*
I would consider the Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 if you're going the Sony route. Else the RF 24-105 is pretty good for the R system laugh.gif

Saw in one YT video that the predicted price is around $3,500.
*
Yeah hopefully it stays at the price point of the 5D series. Just afraid they'll go something like $3999 sweat.gif

And when come to Malaysia price also will be higher. Just like the 1DX3.

QUOTE(chelseafanz @ Feb 19 2020, 03:23 PM)
Expect to pay around the A7R mk4 .... as many rumors is putting the price guess around that since the ability is at that area.
But it is indeed something to be look forward to on the R5, it has been so long no such feeling specially after Sony A7 and A9 been dominating ....
*
For those kind of specs, that price point is well worth it. Still have to wait for the full release to see if Canon decided to cripple any part of it or not laugh.gif

QUOTE(makoshark @ Feb 19 2020, 04:13 PM)
yeah..RF 24-105 is the only cheap L lens for canon RF mount..apart from that are all expensive..prices start from 8k
*
I guess there's the new RF 24-105 f/4-7.1 kit lens that will be affordable laugh.gif

Agree, but this time I guess Canon wanted to try win back some market share on the mirrorless category which has been dominated by Sony for so long. So it should stay like how it is being rumors ...
IBIS + lens IS ... 7-8 stops, dont play play ... no need tripod or high ISO during low light !!!
*
Haha I hope so too. They've hyped up everyone now, if they were to cripple certain features people will be mad laugh.gif

Super excited for the R6 especially. The camera that I've been waiting for laugh.gif

20MP is more than enough for my usage. Barely even do prints so it's totally acceptable biggrin.gif

Yes bro, me too!
Have you sold your 1dx yet?
I think Canon has finally made it right this time. 20mp is fine for me, not too space consuming too.
*
I've actually sold my 5D3 and kept the 1DX. So now I'm planning to add the R6 to complement the 1DX, once street prices hits ~RM10k laugh.gif

BTW bro, what's your opinion on the RF 35 1.8 vs Sigma 35 1.4? Do you miss the 1.4?

How much you sold your 5D3 for?

Nope, I certainly do not miss the Sigma 35mm f1.4 at all.
Once you have mirrorless, you will not use that lens already because its heavy and bulky.
For me it's not worth over the lightweight, IS, and macro capability of RF35mm. I sold it for around 1.8k to buy the RF version.
Now I am aiming for RF85 f2 IS.. Planning to sell my EF version.
*
I sold it for RM4.5k with the grip. This was before MCO la.

Thanks for the feedback bro, I think I'll get the RF 35 1.8 then. Should be great as a walkaround lens. That'll probably be my first RF lens laugh.gif

That's a really good price bro.
Now you can skip EOS R and straight to R6 d.

Yeah and I got my current 1DX at a great price so I'm pretty happy about it.

Good thing I waited, else now I'll be looking for a buyer for the R laugh.gif

Yup, it's an official Canon document. There's supposedly a Part 2 as well but can't seem to find it yet.

Yea, I was surprised too. And the person flew all the way to Kuching from Sabah, just to COD.
So, have you decided R5 or R6? Already pre-order?
*
That guy must've been hunting for an R for the longest time to purposely fly over to COD laugh.gif

Definitely the R6. I have no use for 8K video or 45mp. 20mp is more than enough for me and I prioritize low light over high megapixels. Not gonna pre-order just yet, will probably get one after it launches smile.gif

It's a girl photographer. Quite successful one based in Sabah. She been camping in KK for 2 weeks just to get EOS R but no luck. So the moment I posted, she quickly called me and booked.
Ah I see, if you're not in urgent need, you can wait for the batches to come.
First batch they only cater to pre-orders, second batch would be in Oct / November. I had to get this because quite urgent as I got project lining up, but I will just shoot with 5Diii for the time being.
You have your 1Dx to count on first too.

Yea, I agree with you, 20mp is more than enough for myself too. Plus, my lenses arent all latest L lenses. Too much MP would cause the lens resolution weakness to be presented in photos when being cropped / zoomed. I experienced this with my EOS R, at 30mp. Some lenses like 50 1.2, 85 1.8, 100 2.8 macro, 70200 is i, all these lenses were not made for high MP bodies back then.
*
Oh no wonder. Perfect timing for you then. Quick & easy sale thumbup.gif

Yeah right now it's not urgent for me. Maybe when events start to come up more frequently in the coming months then I might need to get it sooner rather than later. But for now, a single body is adequate la biggrin.gif

Haha that's true. Even for you who does prints isn't complaining about the 20mp. Yet can see so many comments online complaining about the 20mp as if those people print huge frequently doh.gif

I dont get what's their fuss too. Having 45mp so what?
It is actually very space consuming eh. If you do wedding, or events, sure cry. It's not like clients will zoom in and look at every 45mp photos. Lol. I printed one huge canvas with my 5Diii previously, cant remember the measurement d. Looking sharp and nice.

Also, having lower MP also means better low light performance. As per R6 spec sheet too. Thats very important for event, and wedding shooters.
*
Exactly my thoughts. All these keyboard warriors really smh doh.gif The fact that we're getting the 1DX Mark III's sensor plus all the good stuff like IBIS & dual card slots in a $2500 body is already amazing. And there's always the R5 if they really need more MP.

To me, the R6 is THE perfect camera for event & wedding photographers. Those pre-wed photogs can add an R5 to supplement their high res needs. What's not to like? laugh.gif

I've been on 22MP and 18MP for the longest time and I still haven't come across a situation where I wished I had more than that. I guess everyone's needs are different but for my type of photography around 20-24MP is the sweet spot.

I've also used a D850 extensively and I do not like working with it's 45MP images. At the end of the day most if not all of my client's photos end up online and on social media, so that 45MP is absolutely useless to me. Not to mention taking up so much more space & worse high ISO performance laugh.gif
