With a 24mm there isnt much bokeh though right? So can it be said that it can be replacable with a zoom lens? While 85mm for high bokeh. Though What determines the bokeh btw? I get the fact that its high focal length x lower f number = better bokeh. (I always thought lower f. number means better bokeh). but then how come i see people buying and selling f 2.8 lens and stuff. Sorry for noob questions again  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif
*
you are right on the logic, however bokeh isn't everything. i used to be obsessed with it and then i realized sometimes when you found a nice location with a nice surrounding, but then you shot it with the maximum amount of bokeh in mind (lets say at f1.8 all the time), you will blur out all the details and it made the location pointless and unrecognizable.

QUOTE(LegendLee @ Feb 27 2018, 08:09 AM)
I believe it should be 60fps 1080p.
Given the processor, I doubt it can handle 1080p 120fps if it can't even handle 4k at 30 FPS.
*
its 120fps at 720p (so far DPR is the only site who said 120fps at 1080p), not full HD but still usable for some shorter clips.

but if one were to focus on making video, the a6300 is avaiblable at rm3.6k body only and the video specs are so much better sweat.gif

Hi everyone I have some question to ask regarding EOS M50, with the EF-EOS M adapter attach do I stil get dual pixel focusing on Canon lens.
*
should be, if it doesnt then its quite disappointing.

QUOTE(Axelredan @ Apr 4 2018, 05:22 AM)
Bought the canon m6 at 3200rm back in december. Now the m50 has to come out with the same price+better features. Fml
*
tbh the features are even better than m5 in some places, minus the single control wheel. and also it has evf while m6 doesnt have.

QUOTE(Axelredan @ Apr 4 2018, 05:21 AM)
Yup you do I believe. I heard however the dual pixel focus doesnt work on 4k (24fps). Only phase detection
*
QUOTE(tachlio @ Apr 4 2018, 04:03 PM)
Wow, seen like Canon listen to customer.
- 4k
- LCD tilt to side instead of top or bottom which block external min/tripod

[attachmentid=9709159]
*
the 4k is still quite "cacat" with the heavy crop (11mm became 28mm in 4k), and how canon disabled the dual pixel autofocus for 4k.

Yeap my main features looking at was it should perform the same AF even after using adapter tats my main concern, the 4k is fine for me personally coz nt so into video side bt it seems pretty much fulfil my needs at this price point, I knw out there got M43 fr Oly and Pana does better and Sony or Fuji but at this mid level range manufacturer are getting more into high end or premium segment which I see every release cycle is so pricy for me as an enthusiast off course it features fully packed into high end model which justify it's price point so looking forward to get M50 if everything goes according to my plan haha.
*
i dont see any reason for the AF to not work properly with adapter so you should be quite safe, or maybe give it a test at the camera shop. i tried m5 last time with adapter + canon lens, seemed to work fine.

QUOTE(bobds78 @ May 16 2018, 10:35 AM)
Really good deal! Congrats!

I got mine M50 from Taobao for roughly about RM2.2k in late March 2018, getting it in hand early for my Turkey and the Aegean Sea trip. I paired it up with 11-22mm and I wasn't disappointed. Only thing I regret is that the onboard flash isn't useful at all as the 11-22 is a bit longish so even retracted to 11mm it still throws a shadow at the lower center.

So after returning the first thing I did was to get the small 90EX speedlite which is now on its way. Hopefully this unit is worth it. Bought it used at about rm150 from Japan over ebay.

Another accessory I am interested to get is the remote shutter BR-E1, so far my research tells me this is the best unit for both photos and video, and has a working distance of about 15 feet.

For what it's worth, the M50 is an awesome little unit, even compared to my Panasonic GX8 that I have owned for the past 2 years.
*
what is the cons of buying from china? seems quite a bit cheaper but no warranty thats it?

and how about the battery life of the m50? i have the first gen eos M and the battery life really sucks, any improvement?

QUOTE(jason111785 @ Jun 3 2018, 03:02 AM)
guys.. i am planning to get the EOS M50.

Wanted to step up from my "phone photography" for travelling.. is M50 a good choice?

Also, I'm in dilemma.. either getting

1) Body with 15-45mm kit lens

or

2) Body only and get the ES-M 20mm F2 lens

or

3) Body with Kit lens + additional ES-M 20mm F2 lens

Main usage will be travel photography.. not so much on video. Maybe will try also go into milky way photography...

please advise...
*
2) option will give you the closest experience of "phone photography", but the 22mm lens will not be as wide as phone lens. if you can live with fixed lens on a phone, then the 22mm will serve you well. otherwise just get kit lens, being able to zoom will make your life a lot easier.

anyways, took quite a long break from taking landscapes due to misaligned lens (finally got it fixed and its super sharp now). headed out in the dark to test the lens but too bad the clouds covered most of the stars.

hard to say, unless the specs is way better than a7iii and that all old EF lenses can be used, else canon going obsolete pretty soon
*
and also the price, if its above rm10k its kinda pointless. canon's current mirrorless is quite overpriced, other than the m50 and m100.

i think the hardest part is to find a good looking background without any distracting objects and also create interaction between model and background. cry.gif

Yes bro, haha. Was in town area.
What about the edits and color toning? Any comment? smile.gif
*
I would maybe crop a little tighter at the right side to remove the van and corner of the platform, also remove the drainage cover on the wall.

as for color toning, it looked good to me, but personally i like warmer tones more so the background is looking a little too cold. You used a warm gel on the strobe?

Glad to find a piece of wall that is slightly darker color at their studio.

Guys, I kinda confuse which lens should I choose.

https://www.dxomark.com/Lenses/Compare/Side...80_895_1212_895

Tamron SP 70-300mm F/4-5.6 Di VC  or    Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS STM

Both are within my budget and compare the photos I can't tell also which are better which is not right to judge from there.
Anyone using any of these two lens? Can share your experience??
*
Go for Canon, STM is the best autofocus system for budget lenses.

Personally im quite skeptical with tamron these days due to their BS customer service.

Actually I have wider lens already. I just want tele. OMG. Tamron 1 so lousy ah. Why? Is the same version I mentioned?
I have a tamron 1750 2.8F. Never have problem so din go Customer service before. Mind to share what happen?
All tamron so lowly rated ah. Ouch. I see the DXO show like quote good. Hmm. Make me think twice now.

DSC World is just terrible to deal with. I owned the Tamron 24-70mm, had the aperture unit failed so i went for replacement (according to internet research its just a small ribbon cable that got torn, but they insisted me to change to whole unit so rm500 was spent).

during collection of the repair, somehow they managed to screw up the auto focus, and the lens would randomly stop autofocusing and even turning the manual focusing ring does nothing. i only found out this problem right before i leave the service center, and after my complaint they promised to fix it. (the technician denied that he was the one at fault, and said that i must have had the camera on while taking the lens off thus screwing up the electronics. what a joke)

spent another few days without the lens (means i cant shoot at all since it's my only lens, i asked for replacement lens as its their fault for messing up and guess what. they simply said that they have 0 backup/ demo units available so there's nothing that they can do. what kind of BS is this? )

finally they told me it was fixed and ready for collection. i checked again for autofocus and aperture, both of them work nicely now, so i took it home and went back to perak.

i didn't realize that the lens is even more screwed up at this point until i shoot for my assignments, at most focal length, the lens is so out of alignment that the right half of the image will be out of focused all of the time. i had to live with it for a few months as it was too troublesome for me to travel back and forth and when i finally had the time to visit the service center, the technician put the blame on me and said i must have knocked it or caused some damage to the lens. i argued with them and they fixed it without any costs albeit stating that they replaced the back barrel assembly (pretty sure its BS since i never even once knock the lens or dropped it).

i owned around 5-10 lens before, be it brand new or used unit and none of them are this bad.

i used to be a fans of tamron products as their optics are really good, not anymore after this incident. i lost count of how many hours and the amount of petrol i wasted for such a simple fix.

take my words, avoid tamron products at all cost unless you know anyone other than the official service center that can do the repair.

it felt like older tamrons are more reliable. I used to own the 70-200 f2.8 first version, bought it used and used for 2 years+ before selling it, had 0 hiccups during my ownership period.
