That's because yours is their disti unit, can go for AP set isn't it? biggrin.gif

Also first time I hear that half the image is out of focus.
*
mine is actually AP, didn't want to send it for 3rd party repair as i thought it was an expensive lens so i didnt want to take the risk.

it happens when the elements are not aligned perfectly and you can't get rid of it even at f8 or so (the difference in DOF is simply too much).

lets say the lens should be focusing on a distance of 3 meters away, and the left portion of the image is somehow focused on the 2.8m and the right portion of the image is focused on 3.2m. super annoying when you are shooting any group photos or landscapes.

QUOTE(adam_lss @ Jul 31 2018, 11:42 AM)
weird, coz many shops did mention that the older tamrons many suffer from aperture blade stuck... hopefully one off case la

kenot brain what happened to my unit, even my cheapo canon kit lens from 550D served me well without any hiccups tongue.gif

Canon announcements for September 5, 2018

    EOS R body
    EOS R w/24-105mm f/4L kit
    RF 35mm f/1.8 M IS
    RF 50mm f/1.2L USM
    RF 28-70mm f/2L USM
    RF 24-105mm f/4L USM
    EF-M 32mm f/1.4 STM
    EF 400mm f/2.8L IS III
    EF 600mm f/4L IS III
The lens may have a different name, no confirmation yet.
    M (or Mount) adapter R?
Since only “M.ADAP R” “M.ADAP R ND” “M.ADAP R PL” is written in the simple order form, the official name is unknown
PD – E1 is also included in the accessory list

We’ve been told by various people that preorders won’t be available immediately with the announcements.

*From Canon Rumors
*
That 28-70 f2 tho, shouldn't it be f2.8? 🤔

Let's see if it will be cheaper than the Nikon, if yes then the Nikon stands a slim chance of surviving.

Excites for the efm 32 f1.4, good to see Canon not abandoning the M system

You are right bro, I was shooting at iso6400 to just to get shutter speed above 1/320 and aperture to f8 above, on a cloudy afternoon. Shutter speed below that, my photo will look slightly blurry. Really not easy.
*
macros are quite impossible without flash/ tripod, easiest way is to get a flash and build DIY diffuser for it.

Nice shot bro. Is your flash off camera with diffuser?
*

You're using the L lens? Whats your shutter speed usually for shots like this with flash? smile.gif
*
it was shot on an old nikon d7k + sigma 150mm macro lens, the sync speed for d7k maxed out at 1/200 so i used 1/200 most of the time.

Thanks for sharing bro, looks sharp and fantastic. I think probably will consider getting one, but going to sell off my 5d Mark II first.  biggrin.gif
Hmm, for me I don't think manual focusing lens will suit my work. Even slow focus 5d mark II already make me headache.  sweat.gif
But that lens probably good for videographer who shoot with manual focusing lens.

85mm f1.8 focuses quite fast even on 5d2, i used to own one for a short while but sold it for 24-70. other than some CA, the lens is perfect for what it is.

Sudah consult him few weeks before. Haha.
Thanks bro. Really regret getting the second hand 5dmarkii liaw. Should just go for 6d. Doesn't really matter to me too for other focus points. I usually shoot and recompose. Unless it's moving subject and I need to put my subject at the rule of third point.
*
whats wrong with your current 5d2 though? as far as i know, 5d2 and 6d is very similar in IQ and AF (6D is slightly better). i was deciding between 5d2/6d last time too, end up getting 5d2 as its cheaper and still a good camera.

QUOTE(adam_lss @ Oct 20 2018, 08:58 AM)
hahha for the benefit of the rest who might be interested, it's more or less something similar to the 24-105 among the many lenses, yeah 6D, in a controlled or studio environment, it's a good workhorse, can take sharp pictures, can wifi connect to your devices, ISO800 dust still very ok

but if you plan to use the 6D (even with any f2.8 lenses) to shoot kids, animals or basically any moving subjects like street, focusing is a pain, miss-focus is a norm, fast street shots u might get only 1-2/10 in focus
*
high iso of FF is crazy good, even for something as old as 5d2, my iso3200 is still usable with some noise reduction, whereby most newer APSC still stuck at iso1600 (any higher and the noise is kinda too much).

Price can refer to signature for my sales thread. Negotiable till let go. biggrin.gif
5dmkii AF is really bad even at middle point to my liking. Slow is one thing, but it is often innacurate. 6D I tried at shop, quite accurate and fast Auto focus. Much much better than 5dmkii.
*
oh, what i notice is that 5d2 tends to backfocus when there isn't a significant difference of DOF between the subject at the front and the background, making it risky to use for group photos in the outdoor environment. other than that it is a bit slow but usually accurate.

damn, your price is really tempting given the camera's condition biggrin.gif

I was shooting group photos with 24-70, turns out many focused at the backdrop. So that's a deal breaker to me d. Haha. I'm going to nego till let go, if got people interested can let me know. Haha
*
Yeah that can be really killing especially when you're shooting for paid jobs.

Have u tried posting at Mudah / Facebook? It's kinda hard to sell things at GS these days due to the very little number of active members for anything camera / photography related .

so looking to get a new (but used tongue.gif) body to replace my aging 1Dmk2 ...

which has better ISO performance and autofocus ? 5D2 or 7D2 ? Budget is RM3k max.
*
I dont own 7d2 but 7d1 is really weak in high ISO so i guess 7d2 didn't improve that much also (didn't hear anyone praising it until now).

Meanwhile 5d2 is still quite sufficient for most usage (can do iso3200 with still OK iq, can't ask for more for a 10 year old camera).

hehe still considering your 5d2. Hoping this next body will last for another decade (light use tongue.gif) so choosing carefully.
Thanks !
yeap not considering 7D1. But I don't know anyone who has 5D2, 6D or 7D2 so only relying on reviews ... which isn't easy for the 5D2 since there's no direct comparison to the other 2

important thing to me would be fast auto-focus (kids) and high ISO since I dislike flashes.
*
7d2 definitely wins hands down for autofocus.

im still confused why 7d2 never really gained any attention even though it was canon's apsc flagship.

or if you don't mind, i think 80D is a better choice as it costs lesser than 7d2 but have quite good AF performance as well.

Mainly because of the price. It's an apsc with high price. The stigma ppl have is, oh that price I can get a FF camera, I'll go for FF instead of this 7d2 apsc. At least that's what the people around me are saying.
*
yeah makes sense, the better AF/ Burst won't benefit most users, kinda sad to see the 7D lineup died down like this.

tried one at KLPF a while ago, felt that the evf is kinda laggy in low light. still prefer something like 5d4 if given the choice.

Got a new 6D today, very very satisfied. Totally an underrated Camera. Tested out dynamic range, pretty close and some even better than my 5d mark iii.

Love the WiFi feature direct transfer photo. Very useful for event shoot.
