Some merchant will do, some wont. I did it in VS in PJ. 800++ they transact 9 times.

I tried to do the same in Nobel Restaurant in Plaza 33. Bill is 1400++, I want to split to 2, they bising bising say cannot. Depends on how helpful is the merchant and the cashier aunty lo.
*
yeah, it depends on how helpful the merchant/cashier and also how you talk with him/her. last time i my restaurant bill came up to rm212 and i asked them to divide into 4 times, rm53 each. she asked whether there is any contest going on with the bank, based on the approval code... i just said yes lol...

i believe this portion I got it right as you see in my statement I count 17x RM50.000 onwards, for Feb for example.
*
Then yeah, you will get 10% of whatever that falls under the category by the end of the March month. Keep on using for March.

And bro, they way you use the card is not effective. You need to maximise this card, then get another card for Insurance and Online transfer.

how do you split? "Group up items to different RM50 per receipt" or "single receipt but ask counter to swipe card for 6 times"?
*
yes, advisable to group up items to min rm50 per receipt.

QUOTE(lee82gx @ Mar 25 2016, 11:07 AM)
Giant in Bayan Baru, Penang will assume you are a thief or con-man if you try this. Happened to me on 26 Feb (per receipt lol).
Tesco, apparently are ok for swipping 6 times in a single receipt. (Anecdotal from friends)
*
if you based on a single receipt and ask to swipe few times, most cases they will avoid doing this as they are afraid that you may call your bank for dispute later claiming that there are duplicated cc transactions by the cashier. this is why you will be assumed as a thief or conman for initiating this.

Yes, I know its not optimal to get RM100 back / month.

However I only have 1 credit card and to be honest I'm still figuring things out lol.

Not sure if I get you correctly, you counted in this manner?
HOTEL EQUATORIAL transaction - swiped RM188 (counted as 3x RM50)
GREATEASTERN transaction - swiped RM150 (counted as 3x RM50)

Total 6xRM50 for the above.

The correct way to capture should be:
HOTEL EQUATORIAL transaction - swiped RM188 (counted as 1x minimum RM50 transaction)
GREATEASTERN transaction - swiped RM150 (counted as 1x minimum RM50 transaction)

Only 2x minimum RM50 transaction. You will need 8 more such transactions to qualify for cashback.

Is there any other transactions before 25 Feb?

what do you mean?
an item that cost rm100 you asked to separate to rm50 x 2 receipts?
for example, a blender that cost rm100, the receipt will write half of blender rm50 and the other half of blender rm50? shocking.gif sweat.gif laugh.gif

What I have:-

1) HLB Wise - Food and petrol category
2) HLB Fortune - 1% on all other transaction
3) HLB Mach Card - 5% on food, 10% on GSC
4) Citi Platinum Cash back - 5% Fuel, 2% Groceries and Pharmacy

Wise is my primary card when it comes to food and petrol. Once it is full to get 100 cash back, I switch to Citi and Mach for fuel and food accordingly.

My movies in GSC is like RM 150 a month, so the Mach is very useful there.

All my mobile goes to Fortune. Too much hustle to pay every month. Just do direct billing.

Oh well, that 1% transaction on everything on HLB Fortune is great too because averagely my other transaction every month is RM 3000 and above, thats if I don't have business trip. And, every application anniversary of the card, they will give you money depending on the tier of money spent on your card throughout the year. Check it out.

My main cards and usage:
1) HLB Wise - Groceries, Utilities and Mobile
2) HLB MACH - Dining
3) UOB VOX/CIMB CR - Online Transactions
4) Ikhwan - Petrol, Groceries as back up
5) OCBC GE Plat - Insurance and general usage if AmEx is not accepted
6) Maybank2Card Plat - General usage and dining during weekend

I still have other cards which I seldom use and they are for PPL mainly. Now I have another credit card for petrol on Sundays which is AEON BiG card.

So yeah, in conclusion, try to maximize the potential of all cards. My HLB Wise is strictly for these categories and only for RM 985, no more than that. biggrin.gif

six different receipt. Once around rm50++, i ask him to swipe. (by segregate the items)
Actually, its depending on the cashier (usually they all ok), but with common sense by looking people Q behind me.
