Hi all, I am existing maybank credit card holder. Is the first year annual fee waiver for Maybank World Elite still applies for me? Try to look in Maybank website for any tnc or exclusion, but can't find, so want to double confirm with sifu sifu here.

People are rushing to claim miles so they don't get trapped by MBB again and lose their points. They rush to claim then cancel card. Unfortunately there is no 1 card that is the best for airmiles now. It is a combination of cards if you want to maximise your earnings.

The only card left worthwhile is the KF Amex Platinum, where you don't need to play the hunger games. But it comes with a non waivable annual fee after the first free year.
If you must have a non amex card, then the standalone MUVI.
The Premier 2 cards is useless now, since they degraded the amex to RM5=1mile.

You will not be billed the AF the month you received the WE card until a year later. Even though you're the existing card holder. This post has been edited by guanteik: Jan 8 2025, 09:23 AM

I noticed there’s RM25 service tax charged to my Nov bill but no annual fee. I normally spend between RM1.8k - 2.4K pm on this card

I normally spend between RM1.8k - 2.4K pm on this card Based on previous attempts when with the KF gold, it used to be 9K usage per year. A few years ago, they "upgraded" people to the platinum and stopped allowing waiver so I cancelled at the end of the free year. When they devalued the 2 premier amex, I got the KF platinum again, to maximise the KF points.

I received 2 calls the last 2 days from Maybank card centre reminding me payment is due. This has never happened before.
That's despite them having access to the fact that I have a standing order to pay from my account, which they admit when I asked.
What is going on? A lot of defaults or late payments?
And why no due diligence to determine if there is a standing order before disturbing clients?

A year of AF waiver is what it says. from the next day onwards till the end of 2nd year is where they start counting. if you meet the RM80k spend, you will get a waiver for the second year. and it goes on like this. SST RM25 is between us and the government. Still have to pay regardless. This post has been edited by BenChiew: Jan 9 2025, 04:09 PM

You can use your TPs to apply for service charge waiver. It's about 10k points if not mistaken. This post has been edited by blu3gyrl: Jan 10 2025, 09:35 AM
