It depends. If your focus is accumulating SIA points only then yes, it is better than Premier 2 Cards and World Elite.

One of the key consideration to taking SIA is, you will need to transit to SG first.

Yes of course not as many as Visa/MC but still there are a lot of major merchants accepting AmEx.

Yeah, even sundry shop like 99SpeedMart accepts them. But very small spending la. Never shop more than RM50 at a time there

I choose a long daytime transit and use that as a free side trip to meet friends and relatives.

The number of miles needed is the same whether departing from KUL or pen or sin.

Anyone experienced the bug in mae lately? The secure2u notification leads to the previous transaction, then to the Tag generator. Have to close and reopen before it shows the current transaction.

Dear sifus, if I were to cancel the MBB Premier 2 cards, any idea if it will be more difficult to me to reapply in future (if the benefits become better)? Assuming I still meet all income requirements etc.

Thanks in advance.

I have cancelled once and reapplied again with no issue and cancelled again last year. So long I still have other MBB cards, I won’t have any issues of getting them back again. You should apply other MBB cards without AF and keep it first before canceling M2P.

better to keep one MBB card.. any also can.. so that your credit limit still lock at higher than 30k and next time you reapply will be easier..

Hi all, ive been using 2card premier coming to 3 years now. how i wish i knew about this product when it first came out and also to make the switch to KF Plat when they devalued the points for 2tard premier. alas, it's all water under the bridge now.

i'd like to ask about KF amex platinum. i called customer service to enquire about my MUVI and took the chance to ask about KF amex plat. CS said KF plat annual fee cannot be waived frm 2nd year onwards no matter how much i spend. for context, CS was aware of my spending, say, well above the limit set for premier. im just a bit baffled that they could waive 800 for premier but not 300 for plat. oh well.

anyway, the question i want to ask is would anyone here know how long would the "7,000 bonus KrisFlyer miles on first card spend" points last? i read that the usual points have 3 years expiry date while points awarded from contests (im assuming cc awards too) only lasts 1 year.

thank you in advance for the feedback.

P/S, on the 3rd "Maybank 2 Cards Premier" topic (v3), we might want to remove "Fastest Air Miles Conversion" lol.

The 7000 bonus KF miles will be credited directly to your KF account. Doubt KF program will give different expiry dates- all should be 3 years

Hello sifus, I want to convert my TP to air miles for the first time this coming month. How do I link my Krisflyer membership to the Maybank TP redemption? Is it going to ask me for my KF number during checkout?

Hope to dump my M2P soon due to this air miles fiasco, wish I had converted before this whole thing happened.

is there a cap limit on how many points/airmiles can be redeemed per cardholder per month? can we redeem all our points (1million /2 million) points at one go, before the maybank 100m cap is all used up?

I think no individual monthly cap, only the 2 million miles limit annually per person. The overall cap is 100 million per month, so maximum only 50 people can redeem 2 million at one go lol. Hope these points whales have completed their redemption and moved on to better deals by now

thank you for confirming. i looked up maybank's announcement and there wasnt any notice about monthly cap per card holder. thus i was curious. i dont have 2m points so i dont have to worry about the annual redemption lol.

here is the maybank notice if anyone missed :-

Clause 5 of Section VIII Air Miles Redemption:

A cardmember may convert TreatsPoints or Membership Rewards Points up to a maximum of 2,000,000 Air Miles per calendar year regardless of the airline. This includes conversion of TreatsPoints or Membership Rewards Points to Air Miles during any Bonus Miles Campaign(s)* organised by any airline(s).

During any Bonus Miles Campaign*, a customer may convert TreatsPoints or Membership Rewards Points up to 250,000 Air Miles per campaign.

*Bonus Miles Campaign is defined as any campaign(s) organised by any airline(s) that offer Bonus Miles whenever customers convert their bank’s loyalty points into Air Miles.
