QUOTE(stacko @ Jun 28 2016, 05:15 PM)
My spending pattern mainly on retail/online transactions, petrol and utilities. With the revision to 1x TP for utilities and petrol, I expect to get lower TPs.

But comparing my calculations and TPs awarded in my statement, I'm getting more TPs than expected.

This happened for 2 months already and I can't match my calculations. I'm more than happy to get the extra TPs but annoyed that I can't find the right formula.

Is there is a difference of TPs between paying utilities manually than those under autopay? Or certain utilities still given 5x? Astro? Is different brand of petrol given different TPs?

I tried my permutations based on the above questions but still can't get it right.

Astro is not utilities I think...

What's the point take away the 5% cashback feature back then and now return it in this form....

This is temporary only for 6 months. tongue.gif The former was there for permanent, big difference. laugh.gif
I guess Maybank notices huge reduction of its customers' spending. biggrin.gif

I'm trying to understand the chart shown in T&C.

user posted image

1-31 August 2016, why is the qualifying transaction RM 450 and not RM 500? unsure.gif

1-30 November 2016 and 1-31 December 2016, why spend lesser than RM 500 still can get cash back? unsure.gif

Anyone mind to enlighten me? My mind still can't think straight now. laugh.gif

My understanding is retail purchases accumulated must be minimum RM500.
Then the cashback will be calculated based on retail purchases for weekend only.
Therefore the 1st requirement is to spend RM500.

Concept should be similar to SCB gold cash back.
*
Ah, this clears the air! biggrin.gif

So, to maximize it, just spend over the weekend but will this lower down the chances to be one of the winners? laugh.gif

i m applying to convert my 2 cards to Ikhwan Card.. not sure is it a good choice not.. since i already freeze my 2 card and keep as back up only..

Depends on your usage. I still use my AmEx occasionally to collect points because I don't really have a general card except for OCBC GE which gives 1%. So I reckon points are better for me.

Also, I have the Ikhwan MasterCard.

this criteria is a trap lo.

the more ppl die-die spend rm500 (to be 1st to qualify but without any benefits), then the merchant fees maybank charged can be recycled as "cashback" for this promo.  vmad.gif
*
Yes, spend RM 500 on Monday in order to get RM 50 on weekend (by spending RM 1k). Worth for it? laugh.gif

i lost my interest to use my card since no more 5% CB on weekend spending last time. by having other banks card, i think i can't hit the rm500 spending..
*
For me just to spend during shopping only. Since it is free AF and doesn't bite me, I will keep for it for now. biggrin.gif

u spend on weekday just qualify to get cashback but u didn't spend on weekend u qualify also cannot get cashback..
so just spend on weekend only..
2july, 6aug, 3sept, 1oct, 5nov  would be good time to spend..all just few days from 1st day of the month..
chances to win would be high... now should start plan to pay bill and buy grocery at that day  whistling.gif
*
Well, that's what I thought as well, just spend on weekends.
Anyway, I hardly have anything to spend these days, most of things are taken care by HLB Wise.
Probably some shopping occasionally. hmm.gif

I guess I will only spend for things which I don't have a good card to cover, like shopping and probably petrol on Sundays. laugh.gif

The tracking is based on the following :-
Step 1–Date Qualify
Step 2–5% Weekend Cashback on total Weekend Spending capped at RM50
Step 3–Total monthly payout of RM1,500,000

So someone who just spends RM1000 on Weekend, may not get a chance to win in this 5% Weekend Cashback
*
Step 1 is the part I'm not sure, if it does only those weekends fall on early of the month will have higher chances.

step 1 is easy, you swipe RM500 today, u qualify dy, then can slow slow swipe 1k on weekend
assuming everyone swipe RM500 today and qualified for the whole quota, then those only start swiping tmr gets RM0 cash back

hence, MBB shud read my thread description, we want 5% guaranteed  laugh.gif  laugh.gif  laugh.gif
*
Well, in a way you cannot maximize your RM 500 and spend it only during weekend.

QUOTE(cybpsych @ Jul 1 2016, 09:56 AM)
from t&c:

5.1 Eligible Cardmembers will be tracked based on a 1st come 1st served basis which meet the qualify transaction of RM500. (“Winners”).

from how i see it...

if i spend rm500 today, you spend rm500 tomorrow, technically i'll be "chosen" first.
if i sepdn rm500 today, you spend rm250 today+rm250 tomorrow, i'd still be "chosen" first since i've hit rm500 first.

this also means the "accumulative rm500 per month" criteria is useless for those who spread the rm500 spending across the month.

this only qualify you to participate in this campaign, but not prioritize you to be in FCFS selection.
*
Yes, that's what I meant.
I guess I will give this a pass and will not spend intentionally. tongue.gif

i believe this promo is still new and not many ppl are aware of it so spending one shot tmr is the best way instead of spending today just for the sake of getting qualified first (and get nothing since cash back is only for weekend spending)
*
Yes and if weekends fall on early of the month then it worth the risk if you really have something to spend. biggrin.gif

Just swiped over the weekend using my Visa from M2C. Think almost 2 years did not use this card, still looks brand new coz kept in drawer. So happen need to spend outside my usual cashback categories.

5% weekend cash back. The RM500 minimum spending is for individual card or combined (Amex+Visa)?

Only AmEx.
