Useless ? Hardly. Far from useless as this card still give you 1.25% cash back for most transactions.

I have only used maybank cc for less than a year. but i just receive my statement and is saying that my treat points is expiring on 31.7.2016. i thought is has a 3 years expiry date?
*
The latest statement format has a new column added that says "Expiring Date/Tarikh Tamat Tempoh"
All lines has 31/07/2016 listed... As usual, I believe this is lousy programmer at work.

the recent revision was on the earning of tp, not redemption/conversion.

Ic, thanks. I only use it at oversea for the 5X transaction points. If this is gone, then no point for me to use it.

Is it? i thought American express has 2.5% transaction charges...
I always use visa/master for personal purchase and use American express for business claim at oversea.

ya, i think i reported dining oversea at weekend got 5% rebate before but a lot of local restaurants don't accept american express card

i just check back my statement for oversea transaction and saw that sometimes i got 5% rebate over weekend but sometimes i also got 5% rebate on weekday. anyone can confirm if 5% rebate for oversea dining happen on weekday too?

According to TnC, it is just local but some got it in overseas as well.
So try at your own risk.

If I can recall, there is a revision on redemption too.
46,400 points for RM100 voucher. About 1.08% returns. For RM50 voucher, it is at 0.98%.

the last TP revision was in May 2015 biggrin.gif

to-date, RM1 = 400TP.

back in April 2016, i redeemed RM50 Petronas Gift Card @ 20k TPs. If TPs purely earned from M2C Amex 5X, that'd translate to 1.25% equivalent cashback.

for the TP catalogue, the conversion is higher due delivery fees inclusive.

It still is 1.25%. It is 400 TP = RM1 for on the spot redemption such as Parksom, Metrojaya etc. Voucher redemption at Maybankard centre is the same too except for Aeon Big gift card. You get RM5 extra with Aeon Big gift card.

You should still use AMEX locally whenever AMEX is accepted unless you have HLB Wise VISA or HLB Mach VISA for a certain type of transaction. Or the Maybank Ikhwan VISA for petrol and groceries purchase on Friday and Saturday.
