How funny is this, while all these so called 'loyal' or 'special' plan problem is on going, I got a called from Maxis said I am selected for upgrading my plan to rm188 per month, wtf, I am not even fully utilised my current monthly plan which is lower price of course...and maxis want me to upgrade pay more...clever strategy. I do really wonder how they 'select' customer based on 'customer data'
*
I believe maxis staff task these days > select customer > select CUSTOMISED package hoping the select customer feel super special >conclusion I love maxis, maxis the best! rclxm9.gif

No la, they've probably been ordered to shut up till their new plan is released in the next few days in the hope that the situation will cool down and Malaysians will forget, which we often do.

anyhow I don't think we Malaysian would forget so soon. it's would be "hot" maybe until end of the month  cool2.gif

If they are keeping quiet till the new plan is coming, chances are there will be no more offering of any special packages. Since it looks like every single calls, packages they offered got posted in this forum /maxis fb page

Personally to me as well, just talk about Maxis as a whole not individual. One inside person from maxis cannot help much, it is more on collective decision.

question now is, when will maxis officially announce the rumoured new plan?? They should start ASAP for at least some damage control if not totally fix it.

Just a my two cents since this has gone all heaty.

First, price war. Not all companies are able to join the price war cuz they actually set the benchmark for being the most expensive.

A few years back, Maxis flaunted out a prepaid plan called Hotlink Bagus offering the cheapest prepaid in the market. In less than two weeks, Digi called their new plan Digi 'Lagi Best' being few cents cheaper than the so called Bagus.

Therefore, it probably became a strategy to stick to Service & Quality Network, expanding Fibre and Zerolution services.

I'm a Maxis user, so prolly a lil Pro-Maxis here. But just opinions.

Maxis started One Plan, was successful until everyone else picked up the concept of giving unlimited calls and started price war. No doubt, Maxis wasn't quick enough to counter that, they started thinking sideways by offering One Roam and Zerolution.

There's prolly a few factors I put into consideration why they did not counter back that

1. They have a HQ in the centre of KL owning over 20 floors called Menara Maxis. Maintenance costs, Management costs hiring a new CEO back in 2014? from Vodafone prolly having top notch salaries and etc.

2. No matter how much they lower their prices, Digi or Umobile would prolly pick up the fight and eventually when no one else makes money, they wrap up like TIME and JARING. So much for consumer fun comparing prices now.

No doubt they're lots of ignorant users these days. Some like me are willing to spend a lil more for certain services that only Maxis offers, only because cases like my company pays my bills.

Multisim that allows data sharing and i slot an extra sim in my ipad to utilize the 5gb that i can never use up on my cheap handphone

Call centres that can handle bill disputes unlike celcom which outsources their call centre. You prolly have to walk in should you require a dispute.

But i must admit, it was some backfired plan to offer EM rockbottom price compared to WM. Maxis has always been a semenanjung brand and prolly wanted to win over EM.

The EM one plan has been ongoing since 2014 (used it since then) and the difference was RM 30. I was surprised to find it having a gap of RM90 now.

And another stupid idea to offer it as a retention deal. Wouldn't have caused this much trouble if they had maintained their 10~20% higher than OLO strategy all this while with a lil better service and network. But well prolly that so called 10~20% extra wouldn't be sufficient to cover up for their expenses and profit either
*
Yes the price war would never stop, but it doesn't necessarily means Maxis need to be the cheapest. Just at least reduce the gap on the price tag. Just imagine other providers already offering below RM50 package for 3gb...some 48/45/28. then there's Maxis with rm128 with what they claimed superior network. this superior or not superior to me are just talk and no concrete proof. I had lost my maxis signal several times while my other lines working as normal (if not super speed at least 15mbps) but at least the line was still there. maxis had the nerve to tell me they are having some maintenance for several months already..like seriously??

So bottomline to me again it was not about being the cheapest, but reasonable

honestly dunno what they thinking....
they could have made it more welcomed if they just lower it down now...
pricier than competitors is fine...ppl still think maxis aim premium...but make it closer sense la...
e.g. ppl FG80 give u 5+5 for 80...
u ma give all-day
10 for 118
7 for 88
5 for 68
3 for 48

i feel more ppl may consider stay on than now...
for sure maxis gonna gone through this pain period now...
*
I totally agree with this..Maxis One for all...no surfmore, no maxisgo whatever

like i said in my previous post, it was not about being the cheapest, but reasonable

Customer may not be angry much if everyone is paying the same thing eg RM68/88 with reasonable amount of data. Then there are few unknown cases where

Examle ONLY
Cust A: paying 68 getting rebate RM5
Cust B: paying 88 getting rebate RM10
Cust C: paying 88

My guess customer will not be pissed of much

but if the cases are

Cust A: paying 188 get 7gb data
Cust B: paying 88 get 7gb + extra 8gb forever
CUst C: paying 128 get 3gb data

if cases like above then this kind of thread happened in LYN for sure

Thanks bro, I will check with them.
May I know how did you subscribe to this? Over the phone?
*
Are you talking about call forwading your celcom calls to other numbers? It is a default feature. No additional subscription required. You just need to do the setup in your phone.

All providers are providing this for free. You only be charged (per minute) once the forwarding is running. But in your case since it is unlimited call package so it should not be any issue

For maxis you need additional subscription since they are charging RM3 for this feature monthly + per minute charging once the forwarding is running. So if you using surmore50 you will be charged for call to your own number
