I think not only maxis, celcom umobile digi do the same thing.FUP = Quota.

FUP is definitely not a quota. If FUP=quota, it can't find this term in any "unlimited plan" such as streamyx, unifi...
I don't know other telco but maxis misuse this term.

Just google what is FUP you can get a lot of results explaining how it works.
For example:

*Surprisingly when i google the FUP term, most of the telco FUP comes with unlimited plan only.

The principal plan is 20-30% expansive than the competitors, this is maxis style. The subline is much value and consider one of the best subline in the market now.
Overall, the current maxis holder should be satisfy with this plan and this is what their get used to. They may even bring in subline to "balance" the price.
This plan not attactive enough to gain back customers it lost. Unless they face network issue. Of course maxis never fight in price war. If they react this two months earlier, i believe they can retain at least 30% customers who wished to port out. They have no need to call one by one to offer those loyalty plan, and also this incident won't happen. If the ported out customers feel comfortable with the new telco, they will never come back. Maxis underestimated the current trend and still think they have the great advantage over the network.

If today Maxis says "1 million leaving is nothing,we are still making profits", then they deserve the storm that comes next.

Telcos' revenues is only partly made up by the monthly subscription payment. The real asset and value for any servicing based company is the number of customers they have. The company with the most number of customer can generate the most advertising revenue, demand more lucrative partnership, potential expansion, lowering operation cost etc etc.

Let's see how long Maxis can stay arrogant.

For those of you leftover Maxis subscribers who thinks that with less customers, you will have better networks, you are in for an ugly awakening.

Do you think with less customers Maxis will bother to aggressively improve bandwidth, customer service, efficiency, coverage from now on?
Do you think with their current strategy of premium pricing they will keep prices low for you (Blabber on about 15gb, 20gb, can you even finish it?)? They will only milk you guys to your death.

Every telco is same. Estimate 100 users in the area, build infrastructure for 10 and hope selling to 1000 peoples. From the average speed 100mbps, drop until 20mbps, till 5mbps and until congested. Back to 4-6years ago, my maxis 3G can reach up to 20+mbps, but today it is a 4G speed. And don't expect them will upgrade your area unless it drops below averange performance or congested. I know this before 6years ago, i had bad signal for my area, and i requested for upgrade, they replied me that they had no allocated fund for this.
