Very nice keyboard, the slider are same look as the Topre RGB as well.
Very nice.

Cost about Myr 800. Any possible bulk purchase?
*
The shipping price is steep for the slow shipping they provided.
I pm them and wait for their reply whether can get better pricing in terms of shipping.

stocked keycaps? you mean the stock keycaps that came with the board? or the green/orange/pink version one that sells for 100+$ or something
*
The original charcoal gray. Not those pink etc..
Both stocked or aftermarket do price at near same price.

im alright with the charcoal gray, but i would prefer my keycaps to be brighter, so hopefully i could find the green or orange version. do you know where can i find those?
*
Those keycaps are already EOL and Topre no longer manufactured them.
But, you still can find it in rakuten jp. But most of the set are in JIS layout instead of ANSI.

Seems there is a possibility of CM collaborating with Topre again soon with the latter making available latest sliders to the former. A Novatouch 2 in the making, with RGB perhaps?
*
Nope. Currently, no collab. Too bad, no NovaTouch in near future.

Das Keyboard 5Q is the World’s First “Cloud-Connected” Keyboard

http://www.lowyat.net/2016/108933/das-keyb...ected-keyboard/

uh.... am i the only one who thinks this could be a target for hackers to see what you type e.g banking details etc, if they hack this through the cloud?  hmm.gif

i use anti keyloggers.. but why create more possible loopholes ?
*
Great innovation that implement software into the keyboard as well.
Now is the era of keyboard no longer is just a keyboard. rclxm9.gif

Just saw this at kickstarters. 5Q is not using Cherry MX, but using ZULU GAMMA RGB switches.
Attached Image

The DAS 5Q retails at 229 USD.

Das Keyboard 5Q
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/122957...nected-keyboard

Saw that article few days ago.
for the lucky first 800 were able to pre-order at US109
You can still get it for US139 early bird, only 500 units left.

Omron = ZULU GAMMA RGB switches
Omron is a Japanese company famous for making switches for almost all best gaming mouses around.

The switch looks good, it dose have a single stem in the middle instead it has 4 at the sides which allows for better LED lid, and i think it will most probably reduce the key wobble. cherry stems are weak and it wobbles from side to side soo much.

it has a short travel and actuation point which is my preference too.
100 million actuation man, that is double cherrys.

for US109-139 i think its great value
*
Cherry MX life only around 20million for tactile switches from the testing. 50 million only in linear Cherry MX.
Topre is ~30 million life before fatigue fail.

Well, many does claim their switches having longer lifespan also. Like Razer, 80 millions lifespan (cherry cloned). Now omron 100million.

Well, should I say Razer-Kailh and Omron push the engineering to prevent fatigue failure to another level ? rclxms.gif

Note: Membrane only 10 million lifespan.

Guys, for CM QFR-i, do I get PCB mounted switches or plate mounted switches for modding? Want to replace the existing red MX switches to something tactile eg MX clear or *gulp* Zealios purple 67g
*

Maybe adding one into collection and hope that the stabiliser isn't mushy as hell like my ducky's one..
*
Cherry stabiliser for QFR-i.

Any recommendations for mechanical keyboard with retro looks?

I don't have any specific budget, don't mind to splash a bit tho. Currently eyeing for Unicomp Ultra Classic, but I don't think it is available here.
*
Filco Majestouch 2, very retro look. Some newbie telling me looks old fag keyboard. icon_idea.gif
Highly recommended. rclxm9.gif

Is there anyone who joined the Topre PBT spacebar drop who's willing to sell one spacebar to me? I only want the light gray though.

Stupid Maybank blocking my transactions. As if blocking the initial transaction wasn't enough.
*
The 1st drop, I think less than 5 ppl joined in from lowyat forum mkb club. smile.gif
I sold all my spacebars tho (beige and charcoal gray).

I'm planning to run a wooden wrist rest group buy.

From softer wood to hardwood; with more wood selections.

- black walnut, ebony, purpleheart, green sandalwood, yellow pear wood, wenge, rosewoods, and few more options.

Depends on wood, like black walnut, est. RM 59 like that for TKL.

topre 87 is also TKL.
However, the keyboard is curved near the spacebar, you still want to use wrist rest ?

I heard its good for typing, not much tested for gaming. Store.uni has this collaboration for Novatouch TKL, its very tempting but I cant afford Topre atm. Looking forward to next gen Topre with backlighting since its a necessity for me
*
Yup. It's a long term collaboration, to bring more exclusive items.
The planning of the collaboration is more than 6 months iinm. smile.gif
All keyboards are with warranty 2 years, can claim from distro, CM, or storeuni. smile.gif
Still the pricing for NovaTouch is still cheaper than other Topre since, our currency is bad now.
