QUOTE(Cyphereza @ Mar 10 2016, 10:20 AM) Should have done it at 1000 km, unless you meant 700 miles. if your mileage is low, change according to monthNext service, according to the manual is 6000 km. But I changed oil half of that. 1k, 2.5k, 6k, 9k, 12k, 15k, 18k, my next one 24k. Skipped 21k since a bit out of budget. The bold ones are compulsory according to the manual. every 6 months becasue engine oil will degrade over time |

Or next to a better and bigger motorcycle, their parts are always better and more expensive, so thieves will target them instead of you Yamaha also recommend 5k only... and after seeing some really nasty engine defect/clutch bearing issues with the bike, adding on my own nature of "utilizing"/making absolute full use of whatever i own, i decided to halfen almost everything on the recommended interval/period. i'm OK with half oci since: 1) bike EO uses so damn little 2) filter is recommended every 4th drain, i go half to second drain also means 5k km. 3) i'm used to insane maintenance from the car, with track purpose in mind. with that same mindset, the bike maintenance is... laughable. hah that's the thing, i am surrounded by bigger/better bikes, and seeing how people are leaving their gloves/helmet on the bike, i think they all determined that this is a relatively safe place to park i still fear my add-on accessories (like sliders/bobbin/bar end) that are damn easy to jack lol i mean, i managed to DIY them myself with relative ease, easier for a thief to take also :/ speaking of which, mega DIY/image bomb soon |

QUOTE(lucifah @ Mar 10 2016, 10:24 AM) if your mileage is low, change according to month i think can go with a year la with good fully synthetics, considering how bike blow bys are so much lesser than a car that it even shares the same lube with the clutch/transmission.every 6 months becasue engine oil will degrade over time of course if you ocd/sayang bike and go half, it'll be about that lo. |

QUOTE(Cyphereza @ Mar 10 2016, 10:28 AM) I prefer to "waste" a bit money for oil change in exchange for a peace of mind. surprisingly, yamaha puts 5 months iinm, 5k km or 5 months. instead of 6k km/3 months for your case?If ikut bulan, it'll be every 3 months. Its a daily ridden bike btw. and yea, 14.5k rpm (i was bouncing off the limiter this morning while sprinting from traffic light first gear LOL), sharing with transmission and clutch... |

QUOTE(Cyphereza @ Mar 10 2016, 11:09 AM) straight line saje.... like 20kph? rpm tinggi je... pretend to be racing tapi macam kura kura...in all seriousness though, after 2 service, the feel of pulling that off with the front fork lifting off the ground and requiring to land after you clutch in is just |

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Mar 10 2016, 10:13 AM) lol my bike compartment can't even fit my disc lock, no need to say chains Wrap around yourself lor, becum ghost rider 😂. Or put in your bagpack laa. Haha. If I go buy stuff or grocery shooping I also bring car mia. If just jalan2 I naik moto je. Can point & laugh at people stuck in jam.hopefully no issue with first avenue (1Utama) parking. So far so good as many riders in company never experience issue. i also rarely bring the bike out for shopping mall/grocery, just bring a car instead, so much more convenient since i try to make a habit of wearing majority of my gear and that means a lot of inconvenience walking around like a robot |
