By using adb command to send the device to download mode and flash it with miflash. Only work on Snapdragon variant

Last night Xiaomi held a night event for authorized distributors. The variant and the price for the Malaysia release were revealed.

Apparently, only the higher spec is released in malaysia. SD650+3GB RAM＋32GB. Available colors are grey and gold. Price is RM849.

Wow... Rm849..much more expensive than pricing in india. Same spec at Rs12k..around rm720..

I think the price is cheaper in india because it is made in india product

Direct D selling rm950 , huawei Honor 5x sell rm899 (gold color 939) Samsung RM999 J7 only have 1.5GB of ram and a 720p screen.
Very little competition in Malaysia so I hope with a price like this Xiaomi can provide better customer care by opening up more service centers and what not instead of being cursed at their facebook page.
Whereelse can you get a sub 1k phone with 3Gb ram 32GB storage ,SD card expand and 1080p screen,fingerprint unlock,with Qualcomm Chipset. rclxm9.gif

Agreed. Malaysia have less competition compared to India (official local release). Hopefully they can channel the extra for better customer care.

Wow, really a good price. I think the imported set will reduce price to below rm800 soon enough.

Gps signal lock indoors under 5sec..Thats why SD chipset is superior to MTK.

via mail parcels and sea shipping you can avoid that. others are very likely to get it i didnt need sirim
