Great product! Definitely something different.
Although to me it's a constant nagging behind the head "did Meguiar just complicated the wash and wax, and try to packages it as convenience?"

I guess it is a wee bit easier than wash > S/WOWO (spray/wipe on wipe off) LSP or detailer/drying aids.

On the last part of the video, naw definitely many other products on the market. A very old one would be Sonax BSD wub.gif

Don't like the new distributor/pricing though sad.gif

I gotten one again from the bundle end of 2020 to replenish my UQD supply, the bottle is the new ultimate lineup yellow stripe one for the UQW, however I'm not sure if it has improved formulation.

If anything, a quick application on my chrome finished outdoor water filter top results poorly similarly to previous experience.

Perhaps on car clear coat it'll be better.
I'm sure at the very least it won't do too bad as a post wash drying aid nod.gif

Or did I messed up by using a shampoo+wax car shampoo, the wax sealed in the dust?

Edit: nevermind. managed to get rid of the dust with scrubbing with microfiber cloth + hand sanitizer. now my car is sanitized and looks cleaner. probably better if I use a clay bar because it takes really hard scrubbing to get rid of one dust stain.

Also, is it normal if your hands feels a bit of burning sensation after washing your car? never happened before this.
*
Do proper 2 bucket washing, or decontamination before washing, or wash > decon > wash again, then claying and some light polish then a proper LSP

Scrubbing + hand sanitizer dry solution = hello scratches
Do a spot light/phone light direct shine on it for a good welcome

Not normal, re evaluate your products/methods.

A scratch can be superficial, top coat deep or paint deep or even basecoat deep
Which can have different way to rectify
*
If I would to chip in, any damage beyond the clear coat is usually beyond most detailing scope/domain and would be more towards paint restoration/repair works already.

smaller scale could be those Autospa / Ezy touch up (Ezy auto care, which I've used on my Iswara) spot repairs, or full blown resprays.

Kinda forgot the last part, maybe what he meant is the meguiar range of products?

Who is the new distributor now? Mostly I'm buying not from distributor if no sales🤭

"Any products on the market" laugh.gif

The guys from Singapore lo, and pricing up market as premium, if not even more premium than current Meguiar sweat.gif

Very true then wakaka...

Huh Singapore? I know the official distributor is motormad aka hypercoat. Are they Singaporean? Online got cheaper haha..
*
I thought it's some CT global? (From Singapore)

Regardless, Hypercoat also from Singapore
And it's just weird both Meguiar and Sonax under one roof. (I know Meguiar Malaysia has always been with Hypercoat since the beginning if I'm not mistaken)

QUOTE(Steponlego @ Feb 8 2021, 06:56 PM)
how many clay bars would i need for the whole car? it's a Perodua Aruz. and would a RM6 clay bar on shopee be any different from the branded RM30 ones?

tried shining my phone lights on some surfaces that I scrubbed, doesn't look any worse than other places that I didn't touch. or maybe it's because the white paint makes micro scratches even hard to see.
*
Cheap clay bars will only give you nightmares and waste your time.
Might as well get clay cloths from Osren (strangely can't find online)

Get those original PG (PermaGlass) Or Soft99 at least
One time clay will need maybe a quarter to half a clay bar on one car, that portion can use between 1-3 times depending on how dirty the car is

If you ever drop the clay, that clay is done, instant rubbish bin
Clay cloth don't have that issue, hence it's my preference.

And actually, black or white is the worst color in detailing as any imperfection is further highlighted.
However on the flip side, they are the most rewarding after a proper detailing session thumbup.gif

Thanks! Yes im staying at condo but there's no car wash area. Had to resort to rinseless/garry dean method.

What about side window/windscreen glass?
Rain-x or glaco?
*
Personally, rain X , as durability last between 1 to 2 years if not more.

Front windscreen is permanent because got rain X washer fluid additive to renew it's effectiveness.

Rain driving was always a breeze with guaranteed clear vision lol

(Video to come once I can get my lazy ass to do it lol)

They usually sell for around 15-25 IINM? the one from super cowboy (Melaka) is either fake or really ancient old stock parallel import. It works similarly, if not same as the other bottle

Will consider this, as im topping up the rain x on my front windscreen every 2-3 weeks. Seems like not as lasting as claimed.
*
Hmm maybe some other factors, cuz my rain X still going very strong sheeting water at stand still and 30-40 kph water start to fly away.

And that's from my mid December detailing session until now and I've yet to spray any washer fluid yet cuz Sayang the original rain X coat 😂
That's almost 2 months already though to be fair, car usually park at car porch shaded.
It has however seen at least 5+ rain action since, which one was right after the detailing session completion/show case which I've shared YouTube lol

btw is this works individually from the Rain X coat or work synchronisely? apply the rain x coating d, then add the washer fluid to the wiper tank right? the washer fluid seems more expensive than the coating
*
Individually or together in synchrony also can.

I would go together cuz like you said, the original rain X coating is dirt cheap. 1 bottle can last like 5 to 10 years laugh.gif

And it's unknown how the rain X additives react with other coatings.

What I do know is that is reacts well with *most* washer fluid additives that focuses on cleansing such as Sonax xtreme nano pro washer fluid additives 1:100 (mouthful name lol)
What I do is I half dosages for both and mix them together, and even further dilute with more water so I get even more value out of both products.

light claying won't pick anything from the surface. or is it better if i just use meguiar's ultimate compound?
*
You need both, otherwise you're just going to swirl the dirt around while compounding, results may suffer.

Probably only exception, is wet sand/respray paint lol

*
No, I mix rain X washer fluid additive + Sonax washer fluid additive + water into wiper (washer fluid) tank

wow, 30-40kmh already fly away?

i see. okok. the washer fluid is actually to wash dirty windscreeb right, does not act like top up for the rain x coating?

mine need at leats 60kmh-70kmh too
*
That's why I mix rain X washer fluid additives so every time I spray it, it'll not only wash the widescreen, it'll also top up/re new my rain X, hence my front windscreen rain X effect can last seemingly forever.

for me, every car I applied also need at least 60kmh for the water to start flying.
and my car windscreen angle is quite slanting oledi

maybe got special method of applying rain x
or need to super polish first?
*
my wife HRV needs 50-60
Iswara about 60 ish
Proton Inspira about 50-55
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

new Geely facelift Persona about 50
old Nissan Sentra about 80
so i think the application/glass condition/glass placement and overall car aero does matter.

my 86 so far have the best rain x performance, so good, the rear windscreen also auto clears under aero at ~80, no other car i've experienced with rain x had that lol

random treat of an old video using Glaco Blave tongue.gif

i wouldn't say special method, it's just similar to any detailing methods and results and/or durability will benefit greatly from a clean good application.
all the cars i did rain x with had proper prepping that took up the majority of the time and work compared to the actual application of rain x (maybe 10mins je but prep work can take days lol)
yes my older cars had to do glass polishing as well which is crazy tiring on hand (i don't have small rotary machines). heck considering glass hardness vs car paint, you can put in hours and sometimes barely even see any progress sad.gif
a good gauge on smooth glass is water won't stick at all, even bare glass without any coating (like rain x)

looks like just dirt baked in over time.

hence why i mentioned white/black cars are the toughest to maintain/detail.

Is there a difference between e.g. fusso paste/liquid/spray?
Or its just a matter of how you want to apply it..
*
Traditionally la, durability vs convenience and finishing is typically paste liquid spray

However as technology goes, that line is blurred or even turned completely upside down.

I think a good example is coating applications: they start out liquid, however cures/harden into a solid layer... Or maybe that's not that clear, let's go with your car clear coat! Literally clear example lol
