rotary is very dangerous if fall to wrong hand/wrote technique. DA is next level of ROB
*
Just slow down on edges. These days polishing products are not as aggressive as what it was back then.

Even leaving on a same spot wouldn't burn that easily...but why would anyone do that?

Personally I think this stigma have made people turn away from rotary. It is a favorite tool of mine and I do recommend it.
But not as a first tool. Stick with da for your first tool

Carrying a polisher on hand is better than work out in gym.

The vibration and movement ensure better muscle tearing and endurance. Lol.....

Go gym pay money. Detail cars can make money.

Will be using Osren Restorer 51 then Synergized wax, these need to tape up?

When you mentioned "can be taped" means... is it better to tape?
What sort of "damage" you referring to? ohmy.gif

I got my DA from Osren, around 760.

Anyway, is there any foam gun that work with normal garden hose? (without pressure washer) Or more impartantly, is it worth to get one for car wash?
*
Foamer

I use a foam lance which is attached to a pressure washer. Personally i seldom use it. Don't find the need, and also cause lazy to take the pressure washer out la.
if the car isn't filthy, i wouldn't even wash it with pressure washer. Unless it is with mud..then i would feel safer foaming the car first. (banyak kerja)

I do weekly washes, so direct garden hose spray down and 2 bucket wash.

If you wanna have fun and play foam and bubbles...yes, it is thrilling to foam the car hahaha

blink.gif wow ok... lets see how long mine would last... takkan really need to buy those Italy made ones :S.
*
Mine is almost a year. Haven't use it for months now cause lazy. Agree on the garden foamer being more convenient, but both produce different foams. The Lance would create longer lasting foams while the direct hose would be more dilutedz hence doesn't last on body that long.

I remember watching on YouTube that you have to clear the foam mesh after using. Just detach the bottle while having the head still attached and trigger the pressure washer for several seconds.

Also mjjc karcher package provides different parts for the appropriate pressure. I remember something is smaller and one part is bigger I exchanged the smaller part because it was the appropriate one for my karcher k2

Saw this deal twin pack for RM55, https://www.lazada.com.my/meguiar39s-g8224-...qJ&ff=1&sc=GX8D

I have it. I like it too. Very hard to leave streaking marks with this.
And smells pleasant too. I only use it for the interior part.

does anyone here coat their car ?
did my coating 1 year ago and now easily water spotting the whole car.
how do i remove it ? try to wash the car and rubbed it to no avail.

i check you tube people show can try use Distilled vinegar.
*
It's common for coated cars to be etched with watermarks.
Usually there is some dedicated water mark removal in liquid form, you may opt for those.
Rubbing it won't do.

HI alls,

Which DA to get for 1st time user? 8mm or 15mm? what the pros and cons?

Thank you for sharing ur throught
*
i recommend 15mm orbit as a first da. Gives more correction power + shorter working time because of larger coverage.
subsequently, you can get the 8mm. Thereafter, you can join 90% of us in dreaming of having ibrid nano.

Heck i dont even have a 8mm

Guys, I'm a newbie when it comes to car care. In fact I have never apply any car care on my previous car ( proton saga ) until I got new car recently.

I realized my car will have lots of rain marks after rain. And the anti scratch material will have lots of rain marks as well. Is there anything that can prevent the rain drops retained on the surface of the car?

I saw in the facebook whereby the person pour lots of water on the car, but leave no water on the car surface. Can anyone know what this is?
*
Hi welcome!

On the rain marks, those are water spots which the minerals are baked into the paint. To remove, you will probably need to do some polishing, alternatively you may opt for watermark removal in liquid form. Just make sure it is not the acidic type. those are the stronger ones.

To prevent, wash your car more often. weekly is a good routine, if rain a lot, wash more often lol.

Most waxes will repel water effectively, thanks to its hydrophobic properties. Get a wax you are comfortable with and just apply.

Another newbie here.
What is the item you use to wash off sand stick on your car surface after rain.

Scared to wipe it with cloth and may left terrible scratch on it.
Will sponge helps?
*
Sponge is worst.
Use pressure washer to remove as many loose dirt as possible. If you don't have one, get your hose and create as much focused pressure you can achieve and hose it off.

Then wash it with a proper wash mitt. (Microfiber/wool)

Look up 2 bucket wash method and prevent cross contamination during wash.

I have done some research. And a lot of shops are selling so called 9H Ceramic Coating and something called Deep Crystal Coating. And they do not come in cheap. Some even claimed 9 layers of protection which can last for 5 years. With its price I think I can repaint my car at least 2 times.

Question is, is it worth to get the Ceramic Coating, but of course not for the so called 9 layers, instead maybe just 3 layers of the price.
*
Clay = 1 layer
Compound = 1 layer
Polish = 1 layer
Tar removal = 1 layer
.....
....
Coating = 1 layer

That is how they play it afaik.

In my opinion, "layering" coating is redundant. It is meant to bond to paint, not on top of each other.

Hi everyone,

If the gas/petrol overflows while refueling, what would have to be done to PROPERLY clean away the stains on the paint workl ?

What would you do to avoid this from ever happening again ?

Thank you.
*
wah careful. Petrol does harm our clearcoat is left for too long.
Which is also why we shouldn't use petrol to remove tars.

To prevent, i usually make sure it is not dripping by lightly shaking (extremely light, without knocking the edges of the entry) and slowly removing it.

Thanks Blurcase for the tips. That arsenal should be in every detailer's trunk.

I wonder would there be a difference if my paint was a metallic one ?

Just thought of asking this cause I prefer being proactive about this and to avoid this incident altogether rather than having to deal with the mess.

Am also thinking if it's weird or if it's even possible to reuse plastic oil container to act as a barrier between the novel and the paintwork.

Sounds ridiculous probably looks ridiculous doing it but for detailers, we definately go to great lengths to keeping our rides as immaculate as possible.
*
Why not just use an old m/f and have it between the nozzle and the paint?

I used to have onr and some m/f inside as well.
But seldom need it so never restock anymore hahaha

Douglas Tong, wouldn't the petrol seep through the microfibre and into the paintwork as well ?

If it's an occasional drip or two, I understand the the microfibre is capable of doing its job.

The last I remembered was the nozzle was overflowing like Niagara Falls!!! Lost couple of bucks and pouring buckets loads of H2O immediately didn't work either. Simply covered with petrol from knee downwards but the funniest thing is my skin thereafter was smooth as silk.
*
wah niagara falls....us would have invaded you LOL!
Shouldn't happen, maybe you should change pump station?
