hi guys, what product do you use, for, lets say, you just wanna wipe (lap) the car in morning so that it looks clean & shiny before you go out to work?
or just use microfiber cloth with water?
*
Mmm, depends where u park I suppose. If its under shade or car porch and generally minimal dust, then maybe using a plush MF damp cloth should do fine. If park by roadside or dusty areas, personally I prefer to give a strong splash of a big bucket of water first.

Okay, this may be the wrong place to ask but, I see all these Fave deals for car wax + polish + claying for like 150 Rm or so.

Is that something that's worth it to do every 6 months or so? Or are they all just BS?

I saw a few have brands like Meguiars in their product catalog... Is that decent?
*
It depends between your expectation and what they offer. From an enthusiast point of view, we may prefer to do it ourselves for the satisfaction of using the right quality products and techniques to care for our beloved cars. However, from a regular driver standpoint that doesnt have interest in doing your own care care, then this is a reasonable offer for someone else to care for your car.

That being said, I probably would not polishing every 6 months. Perhaps clay + wax every 3-6 months, but polish only once every 1-2 years. When u get a very good quality polish result, then follow up with proper protection and maintenance, your car shine can last few over a year easily or more.

Most ads will use big product brands to back their advertisement, but what specific product they use will always be the more important part.

My suggestion, check out the provider of the Fave deal, bring your car there to wash first, then see their wash quality. If good, maybe can consider for more services. If no good, then pay and leave.

Before this I use RM9 degreaser can from MR. DIY. Works great except that it runs out pretty quickly. The amount of gunk on the engine is simply too much. And then I found out that the active ingredient/solvent in the can might be harmful to plastics even though they said it was plastic safe.

If Ace hardware is convenient to ur location, pay a visit, they have a good selection.

For IPA wipe, is there a off the shelve product for this?
*
There is, but I kinda think its overpriced. One that comes to mind is Carpro Eraser.

U can very well get pure IPA 99.8% and Spritzer distilled water on the cheap and mix them together and would get much more out of it.

Hi everyone, back with another question:

What would happen if you dont rinse the soap water from the narrow gaps such as between the lamps, the door window mouldings, etc? Will it slowly eat away the paint and spoil the rubber?
*
Based of personal experience, short term and medium term nothing bad would happen actually. Soap heavily diluted doesnt have anywhere near potential properties to eat anything, let alone cured paint on car. At best it may leave some very mild stains in between those gaps u mentioned, but will either mostly dry off and evaporate, or be somehow washed off by rain or your next car wash. Long term wise I wouldnt know as I never owned a car beyond 15 years without going for a respray somewhere in its lifespan with me.

car detailing sifus

need recommendation for pressure cleaner/washer
i am planning to buy 1 for car (weekly 2 cars) washing and also to clean the car porch floor

please recommend a reliable and also affordable brand/model
*
Bosch and Karcher are 2 common brands that come into mind.

https://www.bosch-pt.com.my/bosch-power-too...rden-tools.html
https://www.kaercher.com/my/home-garden/pre...re-washers.html

However, as part of buying these pressure washers, u should also think about connector between your tap to your machine also.

Personally I am not a fan of Karcher consumer series stuff as I had bad experience with them in the past. So I would recommend Bosch.

This may be a bit of a change of topic but are there guides on how to lift the floor carpet of an Iriz or somewhere I can send to do it on the cheap? I can water sounds below the driver's footrest and don't want things to get bad
*
Erm, maybe bring to service center? They would have the knowledge to check for leaks as well as opening up all the plastic covers to lift the floor carpet.

OSREN HCS last me about two weeks. In my case better durability compared to both T&W S&S and soft99 S&B
*
Osren HCS lasted me 2 months or so, but I may not be the right reference because I work from home mostly and my car is parked in covered carpark in condo.

Think durability of protection products can vary greatly between users, best for everyone also to share what's their car parking/driving conditions are like.

How's the mix ratio IPA vs spritzer ?
*
1:1 is good enough. Whatever is left from polishing oils is fairly thin, doesnt require a greater concentration of IPA to remove.

I actually do 1:10 maybe cuz I got 99% purity IPA

more IPA seems to leave very bad streaks or residues
*
Hmm, never had streaks or residues for me in 1:1 dilution. Just tend to have a stronger whiff of the IPA. But if 1:10 works, that saves more money in the long run. smile.gif

Supposedly, M101 and M105 are very identical with some minor differences
I have used both before, and personally I would say M101 is easier to work with than M105. However, M105 cut is easier to finish with M205. M101, being abit coarser than M105, leaves abit heavier machine-induced defects.

Hi guys can recommend a good da polisher that's not noisy?

Currently looking at Makita or Meguairs...Makita is real pricey. Google's top recommended was DeWalt. That's alot cheaper.

Any ideas? Preferably dont wanna spend 2.5k on Makita cordless lol
*
There's Osren, Rupes, ShineMate, SPTA also. Makita isnt exactly known for their DA, and Meguiars DA always had mixed reviews.

I bought a cheap China one...absolute shit to use. Super noisy too. Even during the day it sounds like I'm doing construction at my own home. Btw, what are you using?
Yeah I'm kind leaning towards this too but where did u buy it got discount haha...haven't seen any discounts on the Meguairs DA. Oh btw is it noisy? You think you'd be able to use it at night without waking up the whole neighborhood?
Yeah that's what I was thinking...thanks for the feedback. Thinking of getting a cordless since it would be less noisy. But only worry is long term battery replacement costs and how long the batt would last in a single session.

I was using Rupes Lhr21mk2 and nano ibrid, but sold both after moving to condo, now looking for a cordless rotary within budget.

Why change to rotary ah? I think you need a place to detail car more than portable machine hahaha
*
Actually been thinking of going back to rotary for some time liao. I know and experience myself that DA definitely finishes easier, but have heard of many old sifus that could finish as equally good as DA even before the emergence of DA into mainstream. Having both DA and rotary experience myself, I always found DA's biggest weakness to be lack of interchangeability of pad sizes when needed.

Besides, after moving to condo, cant use my main rupes DA liao, and to detail the entire car with ibrid alone most likely will kill it, so decided to sell them both while they still had value and was in good working condition. Now hunting for a reasonably priced cordless rotary to fit condo use and try to rediscover the true sifu secrets to rotary finishing. biggrin.gif

SPTA cordless rotary or Shinemate cordless rotary!
*
Checked both dy, Shinemate cordless rotary price RM2250, I might as well buy Flex cordless rotary from Detail Kingdom at that price. SPTA I checked their website only got 2-speed vertical cordless rotary, not ideal.

If anyone got jalan to get better prices for Shinemate or Flex, I dont see much suitable choices for now. Hehehe...

I've got white rough spots, not paint on my roof only. Tried tar remover and didn't help. Am thinking what else can I try to remove it eg perhaps wet sanding? If yes which grit type should I try without damaging the paint?
*
Erm, they look like paint chips of some sort. Your roof been repainted before?
