haham okay. I also just bought from kopipeng... hopefully better than xiaoyi... annoying part I felt is that the charger provided is single port and there is no suction cup instead need to stick to windscreen. but I am quite entice by the parking monitoring.

Hi all, I just got my cam and it came with 3M tape instead of suction cup. Anyone using 3M tape? Would like to know if its really strong.

I used it for touch n go in the past, when i park my car under the sun, and it suddenly rains/clowdy, the touch n go tends to drop off. Probably due to the weather change. Do u see similar problems with this cam? Any advice if i should use the 3M or get a suction cup?

The 3M tape is strong, certainly much much stronger than the suction cup. It can rip off your car tint film if you pull it out by force. Just remember to wipe your windscreen to remove oily film.

Anyone know if it possible to connect the xiaoyi dashcam to a power outlet? Meaning through an adapter or psu in a room (not in a car).

Easy peasy. It just needs a 5V DC supply using micro USB port. Any HP charger or powerbank can give you that.

go to pharmacy, buy Methyl alcohol (RM5 a bottle), dab some on cloth, then clean the area u want to stick.

Seal the bottle with teflon tape (pipe tape)
the rest can keep in car in case of emergency (sudden cut injuries)
or use to clean other stuff like ur interior car windows (before tinting) or walls to stick hangers.

if done correctly, the surface bond will be super stong

I think it was too-high voltage that killed your Shadow1S.
