i changed cards.... and at the moment it seems to be working fine

This seems more plausible to happen. Try a better card if can. Like the Samsung Evo Plus. Don't use Sandisk Ultra.

Is the yi king edition worth buying?

I think the Yi King Edition (Yi Ultra Dashcam) much better than the Yi dashcam...

yes, Yantu. However, i also saw users complaints about burning this that, guess they put in sth unsuitable like over 120W or don't know if they use the usb ports there.

1 lobang for Avantree charger 2.1A for 2 individual dascham front and rear 1A+1A.
1 lobang for sony charger for phone.
1 lobang still empty now (as gramin gps seems obsolete now replaced by waze), maybe next time put on usb car ionizer, LOL
*
Same like me but my City already have 3 accessory ports built in the car.

1 hole for Aukey 4 port USB QC3.0 charger. 1 QC3.0 USB to charge my S7. The other 3 normal USB for dashcams testing/review.
1 hole for my car air purifier which has 2 USB ports.
1 hole is left unused now. Maybe another Aukey QC3.0 USB charger or Super Charger for my wife's Huawei Mate10.

do we need to insert memory card to use the ADAS?

The dashcam won't work at all without a memory card.

Just wanna ask, what kind of sticker tape u all using to stick on the cable?
*
You mean the cable holder?

I tried before 3M Command clear small cable holder with clear acrylic tape. Just 1 on the windscreen to hold the cable and to prevent the dashcam from falling far.

After update i try to upgrade firmware and disaster came, couldn't boot up and keep appearing yi logo after reset

Format the SD card and do accordingly and it still doesn't boot up properly, put in the file into the SD card also unable to work.

Anybody able to help on this matter, i search through google and can't find any solution to solve this issue, just using this yi ultra dash cam and didn't realize the update is so problematic sweat.gif
*
Download the firmware and copy to sd card then put into the Yi Ultra and boot up and see if it reflash the firmware or not.

Hi Sifus,

Need help.

I have Yi Dash Cam (CA21W) model.

It is already on the latest firmware Chinese version V-1.03.026-CN.

Me and my itchy hand went and try to change it to international language version.

I followed the below steps.

rename my first 14 digit S/N from CN > US, save it to SN.txt
then create a file engmode.
formatted my micro sd (via yi dashcam)
then transferred the files over to the micro sd(using Micro SD adapter n transfer via laptop)
then i insert the micro sd then only connect the power.
then a blue screen showing Firmware change, nothing happen.
then waited it rebooted the device.
i dont get any engineering mode as claimed.
shit happens here whereby i get error stating "System adaptation failed, Access Denied" but in Chinese.
so i go download the latest FWCARC10.bin from the yi technology website.
so i copied over the FWCAR10.bin to micro sd.
but still cannot flash it as it keeps starting up the dash cam and stuck at that error message.

Any help is highly appreciated.

Thank you.
*
Um... Sounds like your Yi dashcam has bricked during the flashing process...

Not sure if this will help, can try here:

Guys just installed the xiao Yi dashcam ADAS May I know how to unable the function of the sensitivy due I keep drive near the car keep come out warning lol
*
Just off the ADAS as the Yi dashcam ADAS will give a lot of false alarms. Which is damn annoying.

I want to know if my unit is a little defective, or it's normal. The dashcam just been started up like 5 minutes and on a cooling night but I feel that the sharpness is really bad. It's very grainy and not like some of the sample video out there.

Recorded in 1296 30P. On V-1.03.026-CN firmware.

Anything I can do to sharpen somehow?

*
Actually, the videos look normal.

Also, the 1296p is actually interpolated from 1080p. Best to just use 1080p instead.

Guys this is my first dashcam i have gotten and it is in chinese,i just need to be sure in somethings.
1.Mine is the Yi Black Power Edition, i put in a 16gb sd card will it delete the old files by itself once it gets full or i must do it myself or else it won't record anymore?
2.Can this cam work on 4g or just wifi??
*
1. Old files will be auto replaced with newer files. All new dashcams does this.
2. Yi dashcam have own wifi hotspot for your phone to connect to.

I see so smaller sd card will affect the device lifespan, how long is the expected lifespan for the device anyway? Bcs this 16gb already burn rm40 into my wallet.

Also while driving do you need to leave the wifi in the camera on?
*
Depends. Can know which card did you get? Hope it's not Sandisk Ultra.

Cause 16GB can record about an hour+- only. The sweet spot would be 32GB with about 3 hours+- of videos.

Last time, I never turn off the wifi on the Yi dashcam but the battery stopped charging after 1.5 years due to the heat.

Ok thanks for helping.
Thanks
Oh no, yes is the SanDisk ultra that you mention. What's the problem? Thought it would be good bcs it is quite pricey.
Also if it is a issue, then it is a huge problem for me bcs my car is always in the sun. Is there anything I can do?
*
Sandisk Ultra is known to fail in less than a year if used in dashcam or ip cam. Its using the cheaper TLC NAND chips.

Never used Kingston microSD before. I mostly use Samsung Evo Plus and no issues.

But can you try with another card and see? Did you format the micro SD using the Mijia?
