Just got my Xiaoyi dashcam. Already flash to US firmware. About the quality of the recording, you guys just stick with 1080 or the highest?

I'm using it with 32 GB card at the moment.
*
Stick with 1080p as the 1296p is interpolated from 1080p.

How you flash to US firm ? Any different with stock version ?

BTW im just buy Power / Black Edition, does it support also ?
*
There's a video on the first post on how to flash to US firmware. Only difference is is in English language. But new firmware release will be slower than Chinese firmware by a few versions.

Guys, is there any specific angle or how far the dashcam should be set from the windscreen to get maximum recording quality?

This is my first recording, but does not look sharp enough. Looking at the number plate unless it is really close. Skip to 1:36

Firmware version: V-1.03.026 flashed from CN to US.

I prefer to see a bit of the bonnet in the video

Just received my Yi from lazada.

comparing the video quality with Viofo A119, it is so much worse. Granted it is just hlaf the price of A119.
*
Cannot compare budget dashcam with high range dashcam. Specs also different.

However, any issue if i mounted upside down and i manually rotate the video in computerĀ  sweat.gif

That video is for Yi Action Cam. Not Yi Dashcam laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

Yi Dashcam don't have such function for all versions. Even the new King Edition also don't have.

I see. Ok. However, I went to my local car accessories shop yesterday and the people there told me there's nothing they can do to 'hide' my dashcam power cable & route it nicely along the car roof lining. They said 'it just have to remain dangling like that'...wtf....
*
It's easy to hide the cables via the roof lining to the door rubber lining then under the glove box to the socket. 10 to 20 minutes max.

Lots of YouTube videos on how to do it.

I did mine by opening the A pillar cover then behind the glove box. Super neat. Takes about 30+ minutes to do.

I did for my City2014, Viva and Axia.

Accord '05. I see...I'll search on Youtube then. Thanks for the tips. The part that makes me stumped is the one where the cable goes under the steering wheel then the driver side pillar before reaching the roof lining...
*
Easiest to go from passenger side unless you want to do hardwiring then use the driver side. And do top to bottom.

anyone here uses mijia and know how to remove the mi logo from the video?
*
If not mistaken, there is no such option for Mijia dashcam.

Also, this is Yi dashcam thread.

Mijia dashcam thread is here: https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=4232324

owh, never notice theres another thread for it
i saw that theres no option to change anything as well, not even resolution
*
All review threads have to go to the review section now. Not longer in the F&F section.

Depends on Mi if they want to give the same option as Yi does for their dashcam.

can chinese version being flashed to english version? or interchange? it seem like chinese version is more update with firmware, so is better with chinese version? but the adas will be annoying with the lady speech
*
Chinese fw is a few versions updated than English fw.

If want English, just buy the English version. Don't cross flash fw as will brick the dashcam.

Turn off the ADAS, as will give false warning when in city. Only good for highway driving.

To me, I see better video quality. Also Mijia dashcam is newer hardware vs Yi dashcam's 2+ years old hardware.

You can look at the Yi dashcam King Edition.

hi bro & sis, i hv a problem wit yi dashcam recently.. when i want to browse back the save video.. i found that some timeframe is missing. for example: 5:07:01 was the accident scene (beside me, not my car).. when i browse back 5:05 and 5:07 video.. i found 5:05 video end at 5:06:59.... and 5:07 video started at 5:07:07... while the in between is missing.. is this normal? or i miss out some setting? pls?
*
Got check in the emergency folder? Sometimes the G sensor set to sensitive, any little bumps will activate and the dashcam will move those files into the emergency folder for safe keeping from the loop recording.

Can do a factory reset and try again? Or update firmware, reset and try again?
