Hello,
I trying to build a budget gaming PC just good enough to run Dota 2 on Medium-High/High @ 1920x1080 with good FPS.
Here is a list of components I've come up with:
Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-H110M-DS2 INTEL LGA1151 M-ATX MAINBOARD - RM249
Processor: Intel Pentium Processor G4400 (Skylake, 3M Cache, 3.30 GHz) - RM230
Graphic Card: MSI GTX650 OC - RM280
Memory: CORSAIR 8GB DDR4 2133MHZ DESKTOP RAM - RM165
Hard Disk: Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003 1TB 7200RPM 64MB SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5 HDD - RM213
Casing: ARMAGGEDDON MICROTRON T2Z CASE WITH SIDE WINDOW - RM125
Monitor: Samsung 2233SW LCD Monitor, Full HD 1920x1080 - RM200
Power Supply: CORSAIR VS550 550W 85PLUS Power Supply - RM189
Total Price = RM1651
(All price quoted from Techview, except Graphic Card & Monitor which I'll get from Mudah.my)
What do you guys think, is this a good build?
Thanks
i3 6100's iGPU (HD 530) is just slightly slower than GTX650 so spending RM 280 for a GTX650 (new or used?) isn't really that worth.
I suggest you to go for i3 6100 instead of GTX650, so next time when you have money to get a more powerful GPU, you don't have to worry about the CPU bottleneck too much.

Hi.
I've just ordered these items from Lazada, my intended build is OC-ed rig for heavy gaming and 3D rendering. Can I know if it's worth and compatible to each other?
Mobo- ASUS Z170-K RM525
RAM- 2x8GB Kingston Hyper X Fury Black DDR4 2400MHz RM282
Cooler- ID-Cooling FROSTFLOW 120L RM158
SSD- SanDisk Ultra SSD 240GB RM285
Total: RM1251 (Including RM200 off via LAPJUL200 Voucher code)
GPU: Zotac 980Ti AMP! Omega Edition RM1600 (Bought from the other forumers)
Still looking for i7-6700k proc and 2TB HDD. Planning to reuse my casing and PSU. Just a few questions:
-Can I get recommendation of where to get the best deal of i7-6700k? I saw the ES version roaming around the garage sales, but I'm still skeptical about the reliability.
-Can my old Silverstone Strider 600W handle the build? Or I have to upgrade?
-And just repeating my inquiries, may I know if all my item are worth and compatible to each other?
Thanks
ES is engineering samples and shouldn't be floating around the consumer market, ES carries no official warranty and is not meant for consumer use (in terms of stability), I don't suggest you to go for that solely because of its lower offer price. i7 6700K is around RM 1400 - RM 1450 now, check with ETech/Techview/DotaTech, they should be able to quote you an attractive price.
You can reuse current PSU and they are compatible with each other, but since your current casing model is not provided, so I cannot ensure the cooler you bought can be fitted well in your casing.
If you are planning for heavy OC, a better Z170 mobo with better VRM counts, placement and heatsink such as Asus Z170 Pro Gaming is more recommended. Get a 3000MHz (or more) RAM as Skylake does show significant performance improvement when pairing with high speed RAM.
But don't worry too much, the components listed/bought by you will work fine too.
