Since you didn't mention your case form factor and PSU length so I am going to reuse the current case and assume your case is ATX form factor which supports ATX mobo.

Intel Core i7 6700 - RM 1305
Gigabyte H170-HD3 (D4) - RM 446
Kingston 16GB (8GB x 2) DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 290

Total: RM 2041 (ETech price inclusive of GST)
ASRock H170M-ITX/ac, MSI H110I PRO AC

I'm going to play witcher 3, blades and soul, dota 2, tomb raider 2....

Witcher 3 favors faster CPU, the others are ok with i3.

If you don't really care about the settings you can run and only want a more stable performance (FPS), i5 + RX460 is a better pick.

i3 + RX470 on the other hand will be able to run on higher graphics settings provided the i3 is not bottlenecking (hardly though).

Dear sifu,
Looking for rig that can play high performance games such as Dark souls III with decent price and budget not more than 2k...can do ah?

Thanks and Regards.
*
Can but you need to tune down the graphics settings so you can get a more stable performance (FPS).

Intel Core i3 6098P - RM 437
Gigabyte H110M-DS2 (D4) - RM 249
Corsair 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 131
Sapphire RX460 4GB GDDR5 Nitro - RM 689
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 215
FSP Hexa+ 550W - RM 189
Tecware F3 - RM 129

Total: RM 2039 (Techview price inclusive of GST)

Need to change the mobo because the chosen one is ATX currently, change it to Gigabyte B150M-D3H DDR4 (RM 379).

ETech is located in Kepong (lelong)

Some other shops that you can consider also:

Techview in PJ (lelong)

DotaTech in Ampang (lelong)

Idealtech in Pandan Indah (FB)

Lowyat Plaza (Viewnet, Jayacom, Cycom, TopMaid etc).

and many more, so basically you can choose the one you prefer and is closer to you (save time and cost).

Much better than CM PSU, in fact the CM V series PSU is the only PSU that you should consider when you want to pick CM, other CM models are just so-so (mixed Chinese and Taiwanese caps).

Some of the mITX mobo that are available in Malaysia:

Asus H110i-PLUS
ASRock H110M-ITX
ASRock H170M-ITX/ac
MSI H110I PRO AC
MSI B150I Gaming Pro
*
Price for mobo you mentioned is not that expensive right? All also be used for gaming and illustrator editing?

You may need to ask yourself which form factor you prefer first, all the mobo listed by me are mITX form factor with only 2 RAM slots and 1 PCIe slot (limited upgrade ability), the pros is it can be very small and compact which meets your lightweight requirement.

Asus H110i-PLUS - around RM 350
ASRock H110M-ITX - around RM 350
ASRock H170M-ITX/ac - around RM 525
MSI H110I PRO AC - around RM 400
MSI B150I Gaming Pro - around RM 500

Any mobo is the market can also be used for gaming and illustrator editing, what matters the most is the CPU, RAM and GPU (and other components) that you are going to use on the mobo.

Hi, it's me again. The ultimate noob of all noob. Coming back to ask for suggestions. This time I constructed my dream rig for myself. Here are the specs.

Monitor : LG 29UM57-P (2560 x 1080) 21:9

CPU : Coreâ„¢ i7-6700

PSU : FSP Hexa+ 550W

MOBO : Gigabyte H110M-DS2 (D4)

RAM : Corsair 16GB DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM

GPU : Palit Geforce GTX 1060 6GB Super Jetstream OC

HDD : WD Blue 1TB HDD

SSD : Samsung 850 EVO 250GB

CASE : Phantom 630 (H630) Clear Window Panel

I just wanna ask if there is anything that is not compatible with my general setup, and if there's anything wrong pls correct me and recommend me something that is similar to my specs. I've found a good distributor that sells way less expensive from a friend of my mother, so money is not a problem at all. I don't plan to OC bcuz I don't even know how to OC.

Any help is greatly appreciated! thumbup.gif

Everything is fine.

Just a few things to note:

1. PSU - try to get a more decent one since you said budget isn't an issue like Seasonic M12II EVO or Superflower Leadex Silver/Gold.

2. Monitor - the monitor chosen by you is an old product which has been discontinued by LG, they are dumping all their leftover stocks to Malaysia, that's why it is so cheap for an ultrawide monitor. Some people mind this, so this is just a precaution or warning to you first.

Any monitor also can be used for dual/triple/multiple monitor setup, what matters here is the whether your hardware can support it (GPU/mobo etc.) and don't worry, the hardware listed in the build can support.

You can visit Techview's lelong store here, they started a Lazada store recently as well but the items aren't as complete as lelong store currently, the advantage is being able to use Lazada voucher to get additional discount.

If you want the cheapest then you need to do mix-and-match from different shop because price offered is not the same across all the shops, other shops that you can consider are ETech, DotaTech, Idealtech etc.

Very informative indeed, thank you!

Any comments on this graphic card? http://www.lazada.com.my/zotac-gtx-1060-mi...15172.html?mp=1

I found a RM200 discount for this.

It is a steal at RM 1069, though I am not sure why the original price listed by them is RM 1299 (with discount 2% to RM 1269), because the RRP is RM 1219 thumbup.gif

i7 6700 costs 1.3k and you left 700 for the rest of the part only, so i5 is more budget friendly in your case.

What's your current GPU model?

2TB HDD doesn't require super high power PSU, just treat it as normal HDD.
First option is out if your workload consists of excel/word/PPT processing, J2900 is weak and the 2GB RAM can barely do anything now.

The second option is better with latest Skylake Pentium CPU but you need to get Windows license key separately as it is a custom build PC.

Intel Core i3 6100 - RM 479
Asus H110M-K - RM 274
Kingston 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 147
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 209
Cheap OEM case + PSU ~ RM 100
Logitech MK200 Wired Combo - RM 65

Total: RM 1274 (ETech price inclusive of GST)

If you want a 120GB SSD to be included, you can either downgrade the i3 to Pentium or 8GB to 4GB RAM, top up a bit if necessary.

So I took out the monitor, I measured my table and it wouldn't fit. bangwall.gif

I got ZOTAC GTX 1060 MINI 6GB GDDR5 192BIT priced at RM1071 from techview at lazada

Total is now RM2,926 biggrin.gif

I managed to get them through their FB. Initially say assemble will be charged but I managed to talk my way in for FOC. Thanks for the advice again!
