Hmm is it me or is Nippon Yasan too good? They let you cancel orders made. I thought usually these sites dont allow you to do that?
*
For every cancellation 1 DP point is deducted, deduct until u have none left u kena ban.
For me i always look for people to transfer my preorders to (including international collectors) so they can take my preorder in case i had to let go the order.

Finally, bought my ticket to Tokyo. Gonna hunt some hard to find figures XD
Especially limited/exclusive figure. I dont know what to find also. My target mostly the cute and adorable.
I only have K-On and Kill la Kill in my list for now. Any suggestion?
*
Suggestion? Seriously, you don't even know what you want? Lol
Probably you should keep a list of your wishlisted figures.

If you are looking for Alter's K-On girls set, last time i remembered AF Hobby have them, but i know that many ppl here don't like them. And yeah, chances are you might find them cheaper in Japan.

Lepas kastam!!  rclxm9.gif But the shipping cost is 4500yen due to big box. Since this were not made by pvc, the manufacturer packed it with thick styrofoam padding, which significantly increase box size. Add that to amiami "generous" padding for their international parcel  doh.gif (their domestic parcel no padding at all)

walao, if that one can lepas i hope my Saeki Ai can get through

the issue is NY like to declare shipments as 'gift'

Anyone knows why...?  hmm.gif

F**K =.=
Just order from amiami or other japanese sites la
if Knights Connection is behind this farce i lagi tak mau support them. Why pay more when you can pay less, especially for those who have a credit card and can buy overseas

KC has the item in their product page for a magical RM475 when she goes for an average 8200yen in Japanese sites. I think they want to prevent other local sites from getting hold of this product from GSC as the distributor. KC wants sole distribution rights for it. Just boycott KC la, easy.

Nude guys are legal but nude women aren't. That's how the law works. Well,no balls no banana seen on the figure also, that might be why

Ah. I'm not sure if it's safe to pass, if that's the Oboro figure KY Kiske meant. I thought he meant the Alter ones, which is relatively modest-looking.
*
That Oboro figure is relatively 'softcore' compared to one of my figure imports last year which had a swappable pair of boobs, a dildo, and 2 sets of vaginas (hip parts) included in the box tongue.gif

urgh... 2017...

Usually these figures do you guys buy from local hobby shop (with a huge margin added), or order direct from some online page?

Or getting it from say HK would be easier/cheaper cause I can just hop by HK easily on my regular trip to the states...
*
I order directly from Japanese sites often

Here are some figures you can look into your considerations for armored or fantasy themes.

1. First one is very nice.. exactly these kinda stuff I'm looking for.

2. The breast is a little too big (strange i'm not into overly big breast shrug), but still very nice.

3. Again this kinda pose, with weapons, is what i'm looking for... but is it me or the thighs are a little too fat? tongue.gif

(So picky like choosing wife  tongue.gif )

In the meantime checking out your sales thread  wub.gif

Edit : Bro... all your figurines for sale is bikini de... not even Bikini Platemail  dry.gif
*
Im not a fan of number 2 and 3's body proportions either, i actually wanted to recommend those two as well.
The character design is dependent on the original artist, it's a trademark of that artist's style. Big boobs, hips and thighs, it is unrealistic for sure. But those two are great figures, no doubt about it.
The first one is releasing in June 2016 (there are possibilities of delays though), a new product - and it is a hot item, her price might go up after release.

Hmm... if want to order.. where do you suggest I order it from?

Also... I notice you selling the Sakuya... you wont be around KL/Klang Valley anytime soon?  blush.gif
*
On where to order, my two favorites are amiami.com and nipponyasan.com
I like amiami's customer service but they dont underdeclare packages, so for orders under rm600 (including postage) i tend to order from them. Anything above RM500 has chances of getting taxed but usually you will be fine up to RM600. And from what I know Sabah's customs are a lot stricter than both KL and penang. My friend's RM450+ orders also kena tahan for no reason, but in the end they were not taxed.
NipponYasan i tend to order 18sx and expensive figures from them because they underdeclare your parcels. Low value will attract less attention from kastam.

Yea, that Sakuya is for sale cuz i wanna clear up some space. That is a huge 32cm tall figure. Im from Penang, so i wont be in KL area anytime soon lol

And on the Saber Alter Huke version you were showed, that one is 21,800yen + 2,000yen flat rate shipping from GSC online, a limited/exclusive product. 23,800yen = RM900 approx at current exchange and bank rates. And the if you get taxed that's RM900 x 116% (10% import duty and 6% GST) + RM36 (customs release form) = RM1080 approx.
Well, 24k yen used to be under 1000 even with tax, it's our weak currency + strong yen being the reason at the moment. Most anime figures fall between RM350-600 price range, this one is just exceptionally expensive because of limited edition as well as a higher level of craftsmanship.

Hmm I think they abolished the import duty already; my last parcel that kena taxed only 6%, but of course you need to pay PosLaju about RM 50, or if you collect yourself need to pay form fee.

The calculation is very helpful... cause AmiAmi doesnt give u an estimated shipping immediately.. so its hard to figure out whether I should combine shipment or not to get near the RM500 mark... cause if the tax is 16%, sometimes it might be cheaper to pay tax and combine shipment rather then pay shipping twice seperately?

Any idea whats the average shipping cost from AMIAMI for a 1/8? Combine shipping nets a big discount?
*
I usually use EMS because im impatient, but EMS is also safer in case anything unexpected happens.
Shipping price by EMS is easy to guess or predict. Look at the figure you ordered and you will have the clues. It is not necessarily dependent on scale because sometimes large scales do not necessarily mean a big box.
- height and scale of figure (duh)
- Sitting/kneeling pose = small box
- standing but simple pose = small to average size box
- Very dynamic pose or a complex design figure = big box

- These features will also indicate a big box: figures with wings; figures with very long twintail hairs that swings wide; huge weapons or accessories or a big diorama-style base; lots of spare/optional parts

Usually for EMS, small boxes are under 2300yen in shipping costs, sometimes it can go as low as 1800yen; for average size boxes it's between 2000 to 2700yen. Big boxes often 2800-3600yen, and really really huge ones can exceed 4000yen but very few figures are that huge. For registered SAL, the rates are cheaper than EMS by an average 300-800yen for the small and average box size category (SAL small packet), but for large sizes (SAL Parcel) the prices are so close to EMS that choosing EMS is the wiser move. Shipping speeds aside (EMS = 4-5 days average, SAL = 2 weeks), the advantage of EMS is insurance of up to 20,000yen. SAL is insured up to 6000yen only.'

The above price estimations I gave are for the shipment of one single item/figure. If combine ship the rates would be different.
As for paying tax VS paying shipping, in the end the difference isnt much, so i prefer to pay shipping actually because it is a hassel to drive to customs and do the procedures. Hence, i rarely combine ship multiple items, unless it's NipponYasan (they underdeclare).

But its scary these kinda things also got fakes... and pretty good quality fakes

Avoid those two, i had bad experience with the first one. I never trusted Kotobukiya (the company behind those) as a figure manufacturer.
It was an extremely heavy figure standing on only one leg, and Kotobukiya did not even bother to insert metal rod and screws into her foot. Her foot was simply glued to the base. The whole figure would be shaking and wobbling with the slightest shake and you have no idea if the leg would break some day. Good Smile Company and Alter never do this kind of nonsense, only Kotobukiya would do something this stupid as ignoring the stability of a figure in order to cut costs in manufacturing. And her box is huge, bloody huge. To ship her from Japan the costs easily surpass 4000yen.

Regarding shipping costs, if you think shipping from Japan to Malaysia is expensive, wait till you shop from Amazon USA, or from the western markets in general. I once shipped a huge parcel from USA before, and the shipping costs alone was USD$65 (RM260). The other way is also true - shipping registered SAL from Malaysia to USA, the first kg is RM120, and every additional 500g = RM20. This is just SAL, mind you. EMS from Malaysia to USA starts at RM320. I've sold and shipped rare figures to Americans for huge profits, that's why i know. If my buyers are willing to pay then Im willing to ship it regardless of the costs.

Actually I'm a regular buyer at Amazon/eBay. The biggest stuff I shipped from Amazon US to Msia is a Honeywell HP300, thats an airpurifier... 22 pounds weigth wise.. you dont want to know the box dimension  sweat.gif

But trhese days Amazon is very doable for me cause I drop by US regularly for business, so I will get everything sent to my hotel and just pick it up when I arrive.. zero shipping cost. That's how I get all my survival/military gears those bags ropes knives... alot alot of knives..

Its a good tip on the stability issue of the figures, mind you I only see "Ooo.. nice figure", but my display case doesnt move (unless its an earthquake la), so that's a plus I suppose. Hmm... U wanna sell you Dark Angel perhaps? tongue.gif
*
I already sold my Dark Angel late last year to a friend of mine lol.
The one giant box figure left that im keeping because it's worth keeping, is Insane Black Rock Shooter. After IBRS the next 2 bigger box figures i currently have would be Alter's Black Heart and Kotobukiya's Sakuya Crimson.

red olivia is still available at toypanic... and you can find white olivia over at nippon yasan. my personal preference is the white olivia... although with prices breaching the ¥20k mark now, it's a bit of an indulgence. the colours and detailing is pretty impressive... but then again, i'm easily impressed  sweat.gif

Koto did almost everything right with Olivia in terms of paint, sculpt and quality control
it's the fact that the figure is not stable that annoyed me

*
Well, RM 1k for a Kotobukiya figure is not really worth it. Good decision there.
I got my Olivia for only RM500 last time including postage. Sold it about 6 months later. I miss the days where yen was low and RM was strong sad.gif

Wow... Rm500... i would so buy that if I can get for that price...  shocking.gif
*
I ordered it via a friend who did figure business - back then before release Olivia was priced at 13,800yen, and at an exchange rate of 0.031 only in the past that is equal to RM428. And then there are miscellanous costs and postage i only had to pay RM500 including postage for a huge box like that.

Figure prices go up and down depending on rarity and demand/supply. Just over a month ago, I bought Gift's 1/4 Kashiwazaki Sena, which was on sale, RM525 > down to RM368. Oddly a highly sought after figure is unwanted here and went on sale. 3 weeks later I sold her to an american for RM1000, and that's not including postage. I know which figure has value in the international market, and that's why I dun wan to sell rare or high value figures to Malaysians. No one will pay for it.
