Wow RM399 quite expansive yah sweat.gif . Need to sell off my VS4121 first. Care to give more elaboration?smile.gif. How's the music clarity? Hows the satellites performing? I've auditioned myself S2.1D. Is the satellites as good as S2.1D?

How bout the bass?? Is it strong and powerful enough? smile.gif

Yup the price is quite high...I'm now using 4121 also, will definitely change to it. biggrin.gif The music clarity is doubtless, even though the time i went for audition, they are playing rock music, u can still listen the crisp instrument background sound nicely. I'm quite sure if tat kinda music is played using 4121, all u can listen is just bass only. tongue.gif The woofer is still as solid as 2.1D, powerful yet tight.... rclxms.gif

sorry for the late reply, long time no see this thread...
compared to M3300,much more comfortable and natural a bit,not that piercing...
M3300 especially help in songs to bring out more quality bass whereas M3400 is kinda blur...

Hi everyone, i wanted 2 change my vs4121 to edifier, cant stand the muddy bass...Any recommendation? my budget is 200-300. I heard m3300 is good, anyone?

I recently changed from VS4121 to Edifier M3400.

Maybe I'm used to the altec's bass... while the edifier has better clarity, it does feel a lil underpowered for games and movies.

They have some edges on the clarity department. But the S2.1D goes really loud without distort, bass wise the s2.1d is stronger as well. A little bit boomy though.

To me the bass of the S2.1m is tighter, but at the same time a little bit too soft. I hope the upcoming S2.1 will be great..

Nope I don't own the S2.1M. But I do spend quite some time audition the S2.1M tongue.gif I have the S2.1D though.

If I remember well, the S2.1D sounded a bit harsh when compared to S2.1M. At low volumes, the S2.1m sounded nicer. Not really good at loud volume. However, If you wanna blast, I'd say S2.1D ftw tongue.gif

Read many mentioned that the bass of S2.1M should own S2.1D including reviews. But it seems what you mentioned is otherwise. Are you sure you listen to the right speaker? tongue.gif

Yes, 100% it is the right speaker. I test the speaker few times already wink.gif
The bass owns in terms of tightness and being more musical than the S2.1D. The bass from the S2.1m is more clear. The S2.1D is more boomy in other words, loose bass as I said in the previous post. If you are gaming, you will definitely want the bass from the S2.1d.

if you don't understand what I'm saying, its like comparing vs4121 kind of bass and the m3300. Except that the S2.1d is way better tongue.gif

At a very loud volume, the s2.1d doesn't distort as much as the s2.1m.

Seems that S2.1M doesn't live to what it was described in the review sweat.gif . I'm looking for clarity and music and seems many agreed that this speaker have it. However, many mentioned that the bass is not as good as S2.1D. Also you are not the first person to mention that there are distortion when the volume knob couldn't even pass the mid level. This is kind of a big let down honestly. No wonder this speaker it's not so popular. I will give the speaker a final chance by auditioning it myself when i get a chance in doing so. But the result seems would be likely the same as more than one user are mentioning the same problem.

Actually, you don't quite get my point. I put it out in point form:

1) the bass produce by the s2.1m are tight, musical, not the boom boom loud bass.
2) the clarity, is good for its price. Can say better than the S2.1D at low-moderate volume. If you you want to blast it off all out, S2.1D have stronger power. At low volumes, it is not that enjoyable to listen to the S2.1D, you have to turn it out pretty loud to listen to music. Else there will quite a lot missing in details.

4)The 2.1m offers more clarity, sounded smoother, have tight bass.
5) The S2.1d loose on those department, but have stronger power output, and doesn't distort as much as the S2.1m at loud volume wink.gif

Where you stay? Maybe i can go over your place and listen to it first before buying drool.gif . Actually i don't quite get what tight means but i know the boominess because i owned an AL 4121 which is popular for its boominess tongue.gif.

1. Does tight means when the bass is release out, you can fill the heart jumping feeling? Is this what tight and powerful bass means?

You mentioned "The S2.1d loose on those department, but have stronger power output, and doesn't distort as much as the S2.1m at loud volume wink.gif" which means S2.1M music is distorted when in louder volume which i take it as a big letdown. If music started to become distorted when volume just reach the mid level of the maximum knob, it means the speaker itself is not capable to produce a higher and powerful output. Is that not so?

Boominess and tight.....If you have test something like Gmx 2.1 maybe you will know what is tight bass....and for boooominess go audition logitech Z2300...and play some same song and you will know..... biggrin.gif

For s2.1m the distortion will not really that bad or a big let down... cry.gif
Its just distort a lilttle like my R401 will distort if you hear properly at loud volume....
I think you couldnt hear the distortion except you turn on loudly or max...I dont think you will turn on until max if like this sure got distort la..other problem is soundcard....dont blame all the mistake at the speaker...the source also very important....you play low quality song then you will get the same low quality and dont expect it will get more better....It's just the matter of the taste of owner..like me, I like AegoM in clarity.... laugh.gif
I think if you audition the speakers that u interested maybe you get clearer than we just say.....correct me if I wrong..sry.. notworthy.gif
