how much is the s2.1?
my budget only 250 max 300 =(

looking for something with tight bass and sweeter midrange and the highs i don't need them all that bright

my vs4121 got soaked in water thx to some accident and i have high regards for edifier

any edifier to recommend ?

the bass on the 4121 was waaaayyyyyy too loose and the midrange was slightly weak

i've seen and heard the m n e series and im not all that impressed especially for their price

the x500 was ok for its price, mids were muffled tho, but the bass was tight

s-series was my target but the person responsible for the accident will only pay as much as the 4121 and i just got a pair of mylarone xb's so im more or less broke =/

wat about the r1900? how much do they cost? being bookshelves, i don't know much bout how the bass can perform, tho my friends 150w panasonic bookshelves were awesome [they also cost a bomb >.>]

meh tmr im going to scout for speakers
anyway if you guys got anything to suggest do help =)

With your budget you are going to top up at least 150-200 if you are going for an upgrade. You might want to audition the S2.1m in edifier showroom. The X500 bass was quite loose imo.

If You want to compare S2.1m and c2 side by side then go Thunder match low yat plaza, next to Edifier showroom...

you know why the C2 was that bad? It is because you compare them side by side with the S2.1M.
*
nah i wasn't comparing it with the s2.1m
i shut off the s2.1m, m3400 and the two other speakers nearby when i tested it
truely was disappointed. its really overpriced

u serious or not or the settings u tweak it wrongly because the bass settings range from -9 to 9 and treble is -7 to 7 smile.gif

Depending on the different sources.
I heard there was one blind test done by Uncle Wilson.
He let his 'so call' audiophile friends test his speakers. He turn on the lights and on the speakers.
Those 'so to be claimed' audiophile people said: wow, good hi fi speakers (bookshelve). Wilson on the lights and told them, "see, this is an normal altec lansing speaker".
So different rigs will perform differently... laugh.gif
The computer shops dunno how to setup their components to sell their speakers I would say smile.gif

bass @ 9 was still rather weak

treble set @ 2 - 4 sounded around the best with bass @ 9 to balance it
but well, still wasn't too bad
i mean, the cheaper m3400 next to it sounded better, at least the woofer did =p

@walabies
you have a point there

might be from a bad source
