i just bought S330D with optical output, it sound nice with my x-fi ext soundcard, if compare with c3, 330d has more bass and brighter than c3, but c3 has more mids & warmer sound than 330d, so pick your choice.

i think 330d win for all rounder speaker

R501 are the best in the price and nice big woofer and sound clarity ~

1.R501 MK2 will better in my opinion.m3500 is lower grade if compare to R501mk2. (mk2 got tweeter,early R501 dun have tweeter,but i believe now all R501 on the market is mk2)
2.if u wan buy e3350,better buy m3300.e3350's bass unit cannot do much,it will lose control when u open too loud.
-if u wan buy C3,better buy S330.

want to ask about edifier s330m...

when the s330 subwoofer volume knob is at the 0%, the subwoofer will have no sound 1? my previous labtec 424's subwoofer will have abit of base even the subwoofer dial is at 0%, and the base is optimum when the subwoofer dial is at 60%...

how come i feel the sound of s330m is imbalance as in the base is not enough even the subwoofer volume dial is at the 100%...the satelites are very loud...

yes,s330's woofer will not have sound if u turn the bass to 0%,for best sound quality,turn to 60-70% is best for daily listen.depend on what kind of music u listen.actually the subwoofer will no sound when u turn it to 0% is becoz each channel is doing it job perfectly,meaning the sound is divided,satelites handle treble and midrange while subwoofer only produce low frequency sound.This is mainly due to the internal sound control chips of s330,it has 2 which is called 5532 and TDA7379,the two pieces 5532 control the front 2 channel, TDA7379 is a four-channel chip in S330 , each of the two-channel constitute a BTL structure, to form four groups of output, respectively, the two groups to push satelites and the other two groups were to push the dual voice coil woofer.Just my opinion

i have a altec lansing vs4121 which is also will produce bass even i turn the bass to 0%,it is quite annoying for its bass characteristic.

im a s330 user, now i using a laptop but i found it the sound not that nice . Adjust equalizer or buy external sound card
Can some1 suggest a gud equalizer? sandbox perhaps?

my opinion, s330 really good when playing slow rock song (such as Maroon5 - Won't go home without you; OneReplubic - Dreaming out loud)...but when playing fast rock/pop/trance, the sound a bit nt balance...always got the feeling that the satelites are louder than the subwoofer...

btw, my sound card is Via Envy24 and mp3 player is foobar2000...

Via Envy24 is a very good entry level card. But your expectation is no longer entry level so you should change sound card. Go for a HD2 or Ibasso BOA and you will hear more defined bass.

try changing the capasitors inside the woofer, after that inefficient bass is yesterday's news!

paired with a decent soundcard...its good enough as a multimedia speaker as it really does it job well

i think u will feel the satelites louder than bass is normal becoz what makes s330 so good is becoz the satelies performance,in another word,have good clarity,wont mask by the bass,and i think it is mainly becoz the bass of s330 is well control,not like other speaker which will spread the bass everywhere,i quite agree s330 not suitable for heavy trance song the altec lansing MX5021 more suitable to play this kind of song in my opinion,but s330 is idea for people who want the clarity, clean and tight bass nothing to do with ur sound card la,its a good card,jus this is s330's characteristic

I'm about to buy S330 now, but is the bass so lousy?? I'll use it not only for music, but also for gaming le....And its not cheap. Hope i wont get the wrong one

hmm...it depends on songs...it sound superb when playing slow rock/pop...
in trance/techno, the bass is tight but not thumping enough...
well, it depends on source too...maybe my trance/techno mp3 is low quality...
