Anyway my 2200H comes with the UT118.I already got 2 spares including a heavily abused V8000 set in my car's tool box. O btw, its not really practical to try tuning into HF signal in a car hehehe. For those familiar with HF, there are no set memory or scanning per se. You would probably kill many other road users with manual rotating the biggie knob. Lets not even go into HF antenna for car. A lot of modern HF mobile rigs could be configured to scan certain frequencies. No, you don't need to rotate those biggie knob .. and you may have heard that many DXers are on certain frequencies .. and local on certain frequencies .. just set them into the memory .. and do a scan on those set. And why not talking about HF antenna on the car? Have you heard about those ATAS/screw driver antennas? |

For 2meter, I know a lot of Malaysian hams own ICOM 2200H or V8000.
For dual band, most are on Yaesu FT-8800R due to the price but if you've extra dough, go for Kenwood TMV71A. For HF, most are either on Yaesu FT-857D or FT-897D, again .. due to the price. Both of these radios support all-band/all-mode, hence, it is quite popular. Some go for ICOM IC-706MK2G, but with the current price, it is too overpriced and out of reach for most hams. The IC-706MK2G is either at the same price as IC-7000 or even more expensive now (around RM4K). Kenwood HF sets are mostly out of reach due to the price. I'm sticking with Yaesu - "Choice of the World's top DX'ers" <-- the stickers I got from all my Yaesu rigs |

QUOTE(kaikon @ Jun 3 2009, 03:43 PM) Well if anyone really interested in a 2200H, I got one 99% new. Used for less than a week and stored in my aircon room since. Nampak menarik...barang baru kenapa dah nak jual?Might let go at RM630 I think. For base rig, get the 897 instead of the 857. Trust me no hp .... boleh sms ka? |

May be kaikon sudah upgrade ke better dual-band simultaneous monitoring rig macam ICOM IC-2820H or Kenwood TMV71A or even Yaesu FT-8800R ..
