at that price, superbug seems like a steal! hahaha

Indeed, now we got M109 Paladins and buddy2 with Uncle Sam, why not get a couple squadrons of Super Hornet too, biar commonality sikit.

QUOTE(Fat & Fluffy @ Apr 12 2016, 12:44 AM)
got artillery nearby? got comms to call arti?

best is close air support...

but penoise are full of themselves... claiming they are the best infantry in the world.. yea, best at getting slaughtered
received yes, operating it properly... probably not...
*
looks like what, 1 or 2 platoons caught by a much larger force in close quarters unfavourable & unfamiliar terrain and little fire support? anybody also would die in such a case. they must have had comms otherwise how they call for extraction, so likely no arty or air support available anyway given how bare the pinoy army is.

this is spec ops company? their spec ops trainees will go on 1 real mission before graduating... maybe a whole platoon of newbies involved hmm.gif

even our boots on d ground during Emergency had arty support on call when they were out in the boonies.
The Mad Canucks even questioned their gov'men's decision y buying F35 instead of Superbugs when Superbugs tick all the right boxes
*
I have the Canucks final decision saved somewhere with the chart of expected costs... in the end didn't buy any fighter aircraft because Superbug and F35 same life cycle cost doh.gif

Just noticed from Marhalim blog that the four Blackhawks was actually not a gift from Brunei as reportedly earlier but rather a purchase.

San Antonio class need upgrade a lot power system and engine to support Aegis system.

its also already 2 billion dollars per ship, for a soft LPD thats not even a helo carrier like the America class. better to plow the money into more F18s and properly sort out the Ford class carriers

wtf Russia categorize as Asia stupid

Malaysia 5th in South East Asia after Myanmar  hmm.gif  hmm.gif  hmm.gif
Malaysia 34, Hungary and Portugal 63, 64 means we can easily invade Europe cukur  thumbup.gif  rolleyes.gif  rclxms.gif
not a legit source  shakehead.gif
*
Then what continent is Russia in, Europe? Asia is right, the top part that is.

The smaller, typically uninvolved EU countries don't have much of a military actually... just big enough for minimal self defence like us.

seriously, our RMN, or APMM ship hard to compare to China coast guard ship, the so big 12000 tons ship, much bigger than our war ship, and no way gov will built 5-10k tonne APMM ship to fight with china.
so i thnk APMM or Gov can think buy some old 6000-15000 tonne cargo ship cost just about 2-8 million usd , some small modify to strengths hull become APMM ship, so show size during facing china coast ship mostly new 3000-5000 tons. so wen some time need confrontation, "langgar or Collide" ship to ship also ok.  better than those 50-100 tons apmm ship.  laugh.gif  laugh.gif
*
this part is where you might as well design and build a ship from scratch. its a bit more complex than hillbilly armouring a Toyota Hilux.

I'd prefer we just bang out those Gowinds ASAFP and 10+ patrol boats plus a few maritime patrol aircraft. Numbers over quality at this stage.

build ship no point ,need hundred of million, no money 。。。。
build Gowind more also no point, we no going war with china and no power to war,  also they using 3000-5000 tonns coast guard ship collide with gowind, we still loss. and china so long time waiting country fire first short. than they have reason take all the island.
getting cargo ship as apmm ship mainly learn china style, they using big ship to bully other country small caost guard ship, so getting those big 2nd hard cargo ship mainly use for show "size"and "Collide" if needed。
*
you've got a good point there re: ramming wars. But China don't play fair like other countries, I feel they will shoot before ram. Also their APMM ships are ex-mil and built to mil standard, converted civilian ships cannot match even in ramming war.

Main reason for using those big 10k+ ton ships IMO is fuel and supply, they have few logistics ships and until recently were not able to do at-sea replen IINM but still needed long range patrol ships to extend their territory. Now that they can put depots on Fiery Cross they may switch back to smaller ships, IDK...

what can do with mini size FAC(M) ? fire missile or use to collide with China coast guard ship?
even fire, china more happy。  biggrin.gif
*
willing to bet no one likes either closing within range of ASM armed boat, or being painted with fire control... and more FACs means more eyes and better chance of saturation attack. At least a little more credible than 76mm or ramming by a civilian ship*.

*speaking of which, not sure many civilian ships can hit 25-30 knot speeds... hmm.gif

laugh.gif  laugh.gif do you think china ship will worry on this.....
*
I REALLY DUNNO MANG laugh.gif But dyou think they will worry about ramming either, when they have already exchanged shots with Viet and Phil navies? Advantage I'm thinking is that antiship missile certainly talks bigger than ramming, whether in peace or war, and China is afraid of actual war and diplomatic embarrassment - Indon basically called their bluff and they didn't dare retaliate for their fishing boats.

I feel they're like school gangster - try to pick on weak opponent but takut daring opponents even if the opponent is weaker

Hard hitting 50cal

but again, it fairly inaccurate. But when u want to get lead on the ground, accuracy does not really matter

anyone else think we're taking the gatling obsession a bit far? laugh.gif

But on 2nd thought, maybe they're looking at the range or canopy penetration power?

.50 cal is a big bullet, could've just stayed with 7.62 or even 5.56, the bigger the bullet the less ammo and other stuff the chopper can carry... I'm thinking of sustainability here. So they must have a reason for picking .50 cal, and I'm wondering if it has to do with getting the bullets through our thick jungle canopy...

Getting tired of the A-10 circlejerk... its done excellently so far but in truth its like the T-64 of the skies. It would not last long in today's SAM environment and it certainly is not a fantastic maritime strike aircraft.

Wow, complete breakdown of the whole chain of command. The fact that they had operational tanks which they could have used for counter fire and maneuvers and yet the fled. Machine gun positions werent even used to suppress enemy movement.
*
Frankly the attackers didn't look amazing, their weapons seem poorly maintained. But though their accuracy sucked their fire discipline does look better than it used to be. Watching the video I can only wonder how ill prepared the other side is to have lost so hard to the attackers.
