is there any actual value to this or just a paper weight?

I'm using CIMB. The banker's cheque costs RM6+ before GST. That's already a chunk of the interest I'm going to earn from FD. But if banker's cheque is still the best option then I may just go for it.

After creating e-GIA, I went to the page of "manage eFD", whereby we can charge some details of eFD. There, I keep getting error, when I select "add interest to principal" option. Is it normal for e-GIA?

I received an sms from Maybank of FD with rates up to 5.75% p.a., but can't find details anywhere.

a quick check, which is the highest effective FD rate (any duration, less than 5 years) currently?

60 mths is quite long n may stand to lose out in the event of int rate hike

why? 

Anyone knows what will happen if FD plan has fully matured?

1) auto renew to latest plans
2) just become stagnant with 0% interest
3) continue last interest rate in old plan

Any idea?

Called to few banks' contact this morning:

AmBank promo:
6 mth 4.25%, min 10k. But 5% to be placed in CASA !
They have this lucky draw for cars for FD placement from now till end Oct.

HL: (as some reported)
3 mth 4.15%, 6 mth 4.25% min 10k
till end of June. No more 3 mth 4.3% for >100k. 

OCBC:
1 year 4.2%, 8 mth 4.1%, min 10k

UOB:
4 mth 4%, 9 mth 4.15%, 1 year 4.3%
same as the flyer which I shown before and is in 1st page.

CIMB:
3 mth 4%, 12 mth 4.1%, min 10k

already uplifted mine back in March jor. need fund for property purchase 

4.5% for 7 months or above for MBB?? Wow!!

Just came back from Maybank. They offer FD promo:-
1st 2 mths - 3.75%
3rd mth - 4.50%
Effective - 4.00%

same case with @kart and @ramjade. never managed to change the setting. tried both on GIA-i placed on the same day and old one.

Cons : rm1k need 3 months minimum, rm5k and above 1 month minimum, cannot uplift on the same day you place the eFD.
