Did maybank ask for all kind of eform upon placement of GIA-i?
Btw, how to check the published 4% rate? There's no option showing 4%.

No need open savings account so you just deposit and get the cert? That day the girl kept insisting that I must open a savings account and they must issue an ATM card and online pin to me. I keep asking the reasons and they said now is the standard practice. I told them not all banks required and she insist. So I have no choice but just to open. Opening account took me 45 min but then processing FD at counter only like 5 min. If opening account not necessary then I'm going to write in to them asking why the inconsistency.
*
All banks have a target so of course they "force" you to open a SA. Some FD promo SA are optional. Some are not.

This brings me a point where I don't understand why banks are still insisting on counter fd while the technology is there for efd? This counter ransactions overhead is probably lose-lose for both parties.
*
Simple. If all use efd, they cannot promote their products. Neither can they encourage people to sign up for PB. Remember banks are all able meeting target. Imagine how much commission they will lose if no one want to sign up for their products.

Same here. I think they just want to see you in the branch and promote your CC, insurance, investment products.

If got any eFD promo, please let me know.

The only decent one that I know of is maybank GIA-i.

blehh ...i rather ask cimb for some of their gold plated toys haha. maybe if so happened you were in the mkt for the tv and ipad la laugh.gif then yes ok...
*
You can sell the TV + ipad mini to pocket the profit. 100% profit. Gold plated toys hard to sell. tongue.gif laugh.gif

Easily can profit >rm1312.5. Ipad and TV sell slightly cheaper than market price. Sure profit.

One ipad mini 4 16gb WiFi from Apple malaysia sells for rm1599. Sell at rm1499, TV sell at about rm800, profit rm2299.

tats mentality of a kiddo.  doh.gif who want to join pb of bank, then have the hassle of selling the items later on.  devil.gif
*
You don't hang out in Garage sale much do you? I hang out, I saw with my own eyes people buying higher than normal apple price. Why do you think scalper exist? Also, some people willing to buy 2nd hand ipads.

Unker boom is a kiddo? I remember he took the FD promo with medklin air purifier and sold it off. He make quite a profit combining both interest and sales of the air purifier. He definitely have >RM250k. The last I checked, he is no kiddo.

Last time I think around 3 years ago, I sold one Philips 42" LCD TV (gift from SCB) with original receipt for RM 1300.00, but market price at that time for this TV was RM 1600 in Tesco.
The buyer did not even open the box to check since the TV box was wrapped in plastic rope by the Philips factory.
Bro.. I really think some UOB staffs mislead customer to open saving account in order to make incentives.
For me, I have placed FD with UOB for about 5 years but my UOB branch has never asked me to open a saving account.
where you sell tv ? mudah.my? leong ?
i have free gift to sell.my free gift also no receipt....
*
Just sell via lowyat garage sale. FOC. No need to pay any fees. smile.gif

unker boom, u got to teach the kiddo the price to sell. brows.gif i personally will not buy without receipt or even from kiddo. devil.gif no receipt, difficulty to claim warranty. they always ask for receipt. devil.gif
*
People will always buy if the price is right or if they really want something. Simple supply and demand.

Certain electronic item, no receipt, still ok. Like ipad as long as box is seal, price is less than apple Malaysia, can buy cause if one knows how to use ipad, one knows how to make the ipad last min 5 years. I got mine from Apple Malaysia at RM200 off. whistling.gif biggrin.gif Now Apple Malaysia cover the hole already. Stuff like air purifier, TV, better have receipt for claiming warranty. Those are stuff that can spoil.

QUOTE(poor man @ Mar 29 2016, 10:45 PM)
my gift is  ipad...how much can sell??
ipad air 2 have people want buy or no ?
*
As long as you priced your ipad cheaper than Apple Malaysia and the box is still seal, DO NOT OPEN THE BOX TO CHECK THE IPAD you will have a buyer. Give RM100 price cut, good enough. For student, RM100 is a lot unless they are the type ask money from parents.

Sorry for being OT.

Btw, unker BoomChaCha all this FD with gift like air purifier/TV, will you be given receipt for claiming warranty?

now fd discussion and calculation hv to incl free gifts laugh.gif and looks like many people getting free stuffs. retail market must be really down nowadays that banks prefer to give( unsaleable ?outdated ?)electronics rather than interest whistling.gif

i dunno la. for me 250k< cash and working...why would waste time, take risk(?) sell product, meet buyer and all...i rather decorate my study table with more gold ingots laugh.gif
*
If interest < sales of items + interest, better take the gift and sell them like what unker boom did. By choosing the free gift and selling it, his effective interest rate shot up drastically. I remembered he showed the calculations for it. However, don't get bluff by bank like how PB try to bluff customer by giving a free Galaxy Note (not sure which version). Turn out even with the Galaxy Note, effective interest rate is lower than other banks. (if put FD same amount, still got leftovers after using interest given by banks - extra I think RM1k) blink.gif vmad.gif mad.gif

However, if interest > total sales + interest, better take FD with the higher interest. biggrin.gif

cimb screwed up my data.
my rm transfer location.
interim wise, replacement rm to service me.
then new rm reported for work but no handing over.
1 year + no rm servicing me.
one fine day i walk in to do fd, rm checked and found out in database no rm assigned to me.  mad.gif  vmad.gif
when they finally re-assigned someone, also messed up big time on my transactions.
i got even more  vmad.gif  vmad.gif  mad.gif  mad.gif  ranting.gif  ranting.gif  bangwall.gif  bangwall.gif

hence now sourcing for new bank.

Captain said maybank, uob are good. Unker goat said BR is good. Unker cklimm, Bonescythe any recommendation?

QUOTE(eleven dragon @ Mar 30 2016, 09:07 AM)
May I know if the written date on FD maturity (on FD slip) is 30th March, can I get to withdraw out on 30th March? or only on 31st I can do withdrawal?

What happen if 31st falls on Saturday (weekend)?

And also, do the banks charge penalty if I make withdrawal one day earlier than the maturity date?

Thanks for any valuable input.
*
You can withdraw on 30th March.

Either you don't get interest or you get interest for that day. Depends on banks.

You won't get the full interest. Just half of the interest cause it's considered premature withdrawal.

Hong leong, RHB, UOB and Affin.
Between them...which one you think its worth to open account?
From the perspective of service, FD rate.

Thanx
*
Affin. They usually have the highest FD promo rates. No queue.

HLB is chinaman bank. Stingy bank. Only recently they have good promo. Very slow.

any comments?
*
Never been their customer. Cannot comment.

One good thing about rhb is no queue for their amanah saham counter.
Captain likes UOB cause if value is large, no need to move fund around. RM can give you good rates. Say promo rates is 4.2, they will give you 4.1%

Then they will not have the mood to entertain us loh... very realistic mah..  sad.gif
In my opinion:

(1) UOB
(2) RHB
(3) Affin --- offer competitive saving account rate, but AM bank True saver is still my first choice. OCBC smart saver is not so convenience to withdraw
(4) HLB

I just called UOB, 4.5% for 1 year FD, tomorrow is last day.. Hurry up...
This 4.5% is not negotiable even with RM 500K offered from another customer, according to UOB..
*
Affin SA rates not competitive enough. Better rates with ambank truesavers/m2u savers/rhb bonus savers (2.5%)

Nowadays I hardly use Ambank Islamic efd. Using maybank eGIA-i now. 4% vs 3.15% is very big difference. Cannot pass up the differences.

Not worth it when other banks offering like 4.3-4.5% that time.

You never know. Banks love to sell products. Always go maybank, they keep promoting their ASG + high FD rates for few months to me when all I looking for is topping up my amanah saham fixed price. SCB always prudential insurance. sweat.gif

Only affin, cimb never offer to sell me anything. thumbup.gif
