At this moment, shortlisting below model:
1. Xiaomi Mi LED Smart TV 4S
2. Hisense 55A7400F
You may suggest another model if any.

Targeting Below RM2,000 for 55" 4K HDR TV.

Can I know how to adjust TV best resolution?

I have new Hisense Smart 4K UHD (Hisense 43" 43A7100F Smart 4K UHD A7100F) , i am trying to adjust the TV brightness and contrast to find the best picture setting for personal viewing.

When i am trying to adjust to lower brightness, the TV image look dark.
When adjusted to more brightness, TV image look ok but when the screen with white colour object (example white background or a lady wearing white baju or a car with white colour), the screen look very bright.

Any good advise ?

i encounter the same issues. i have reduced the backlight brightness, it will be in 100% by default. try to lower it down. its different with brightness and contrast.

Hi,

I'm wondering, what calibration settings are you people using for 55A7400F?
The TV is good overall but some darker scenes look too dark, both in SDR and HDR.
Thanks!

A7400F series uses android interface and has Dolby vision (I bought the 65 in her). E6F does not have this and also is a bit similar to A7100F hence cheaper. Hard to get a7400f 65 inch these days at 2.8k or below for the 65 inch. Been using it so far for PS4 gaming and disney plus shows. It’s not the best screen (I compared with my x90h) but it’s definitely a great bang for buck for me.

Somebody posted a pic of the 65" U7G being priced at RM4,600 as a pre-order. While it still isn't the same as compared to the US model (and Hisense Malaysia is really bad at listing all the important specs on their website), it is still worth a consideration.

- 90 dimming zones - according to Hisense Thailand, which has a similar VIDAA spec.
- Quantum dot filter for wide color gamut
- 700 nits (1000 nits for the US version)
- HDMI 2.1 with ALLM and VRR, with eARC (again, Thai version)

If the RM4,600 price is made as actual MSRP, then I don't know of any other brand that has these features at that price. But even if it's just a pre-order price, you can't beat that.

EDIT: I still don't like that Hisense gimped the international version though. China and US got the best version.

No equivalent US model. US money is too big, they don't need cheap models.

Hi guys, is it possible get Atmos on A7400F? As on the TV spec, it only support DD+ encoding.

If...let's say i hook HT that support Atmos... can the TV pass trough the Atmos to the HT? Or the HT will still produce normal 5.1ch DD+?

Decoding, not encoding. Via Dolby itself.

QUOTE
Dolby Digital Plus™ (E-AC-3) provides up to twice the efficiency of Dolby Digital while adding new features like 7.1-ch audio, support for descriptive video services, and support for Dolby Atmos (but more on that later).

Dolby Digital Plus is widely used by streaming and broadcast services to deliver surround sound audio at lower bitrates.

Stereo audio in Dolby Digital Plus is typically encoded at bitrates between 96-128 kbps.
5.1-ch audio in Dolby Digital Plus is typically encoded at bitrates between 192-256 kbps
Dolby Atmos audio in Dolby Digital Plus is typically encoded at bitrates between 384 and 768 kbps.

So if you're buying any TV with ARC and you have a Dolby Atmos receiver, the receiver is the center where everything is connected.

4K BD/Media Player -> Receiver <- ARC-> TV

From streaming apps on the TV and through ARC, you're getting Atmos via DD+. Streaming apps obviously uses lossy version of Atmos. Lossless Atmos starts at 6 Mbps.

From 4K BDs connected directly to the receiver, provided the BDs have Atmos/DTS-X, you're getting the full bandwidth audio.

Buying a home theater starts with a budget and then your space limitations or requirements.

Most people would go for soundbars. But even though they advertise as Dolby Atmos, you need to study the specs. If all it's decoding is 2.0, then it's not even surround sound. The cheap soundbars are like this. It's only when you get to soundbars that costs over RM4,000 that you get true 7.1 speaker setups.

You can get this Onkyo HT-S5805 for RM4000. user posted image
This is a 5.1.2 setup with a basic Atmos receiver. True Atmos setup starts at 7.2.4, which is far too many speakers for a typical living room.

From here, the price goes up and there's no limit.

Every HDTV since the 2000s can decode Dolby Digital 2.0. But TVs don't decode 5.1 or more as that's beyond the mandatory spec.

As I posted before, TVs with ARC can pass the Dolby Digital Plus (Atmos for streaming) signal through HDMI straight to a Dolby Atmos soundbar/receiver. This is okay when you're using the streaming app from the TV to play your content. This is the lossy version of Dolby Atmos.

When you want to play the lossless version of Dolby Atmos which you can only get through Blu-ray Discs, you need to connect your 4K BD player to the receiver. The receiver will send the video signal to the TV and it will decode the Dolby Atmos signal.
