Crossfit ain't really that bad. Bodybuilding, powerlifting, weightlifting, crossfit and etc just different form of lifting with different concern. Give it a try for few months if you are into it.
Crossfit got negative review mostly due to bad form during lifting and injury prone. Just be assure you maintain good lifting form and hire a real good trainer. |

you do deadlift, overhead press, pull ups, power clean in crossfit just the same as you would do in body building and weight lifting.
the reason for the bad name is due to its superhuman endurance requirement, espicially in competition. super tired + weight = bad form = injury. |

Crossfit is fun. Have been doing it for few years. Injury is expected for all forms of exercise. To minimize risk of injury, proper coaching when u just started crossfit is important. N start with light weight. Know your own body limit , don't over do.
By the way, try first. And see if u like it |

What sort of gain? Strength gain? Muscle gain? Endurance gain? Bodybuilder cant beat a crossfitter in endurance, and crossfitter wont beat a body builder in muscle mass. |

The problem with crossfit is not the fact they advocate "going all out", training to failure, trying to do x number of things in shorter and shorter amounts of time, etc. All that can be great for conditioning. The problem comes from the fact additional resistance is used and when fatigue sets in, form inevitable breaks down which just adds unnecessary risk to otherwise safe exercises.

Rhabdomyolysis. Crossshit fags will argue it's SO rare yet it's MORE COMMON in Crosspricks. Damn, why do i keep typing Crossprick wrong. |

Just as long as your form is correct when doing any exercise, it will be alright. Simply flinging around will get you injured, which most amateur crossfitters do (then boasting about it, thats how it get a bad reputation).

Form -will- break down as fatigue sets in, no matter how strong you are. As I said, the risk in trying to complete exercises with external resistance in shorter amounts of time outweighs any potential benefit. All that potential gain is worth jack shit once an injury sets in. |

Rushing technical lifts for time = recipe for disaster.

I do agree that form breakdown is common in crossfit especially during competition. But accusing ALL of them having bad form in lifting isn't necessary at all. I do know some crossfitter that did powerlifting as well and their form and weight lifted is better than most of us.
Why generalize crossfit is bad just because of all that trolling made? I'm not defending crossfit but I just don't like bringing others down because of certain thing we saw on net. |
