i dont mind china made or china brand but their price can be as high as Yale's
their grill lock i think more than 1500. gila meh. rclxub.gif
the price from taobao for similar device is probably less than Rm500 lol

got aluminum frame but my existing lock very near the edge, only about 30mm

not sure about the new model but the august smartlock pro is excellent, only gripe is the WIFI connect dongle which does get disconnected at times.

the best feature for me is the auto unlock when you are in front of the door granted you must have your mobile with you.

you may use the keypad or even your key to unlock the door.

it has all the other standard features you would find in a smart lock, ie guest keys and so forth.

paranoid much, if you lose your credit card what the first thing you do, block the card. same theory login cloud and block your lost/stolen phone.. its meant for convenience. of course got contingency.

now after 6 months still 100%. I got a feeling can tahan 2 years or 1.5 years at least
because there is no motor inside, just a simple clutch mechanism

How does this compare with Abrain digital lock? Price should be about the same.

aqara is a famous xiaomi sub-brand in home automation
why pay 1500 for a non branded lock?

no. the smart lock only locks and unlocks. all these is done locally. it doesnt need to be connected to the Internet
if you wish to monitor the status of the lock, then you will need to get a Bluetooth hub and connect your lock to it. This is solely for monitoring the status of your lock. And maybe to share a key....(not sure about this one)
