Had the pleasure of an up close & personal view of the car at Mines yesterday. I must say the design alone will ensure this car sells well.

how's the dark silver color? looks good in your eyes?
Looks alright but I would still prefer a lighter (and brighter) silver. Brings out the overall shape of the car and the features better. This is a car with a top class design so Honda should have maintained a light/bright silver instead of this darker silver. Long run might become a bit oldy looking if u ask me.

so i guessed it right that this color is more into matured looking but definitely easier to maintain than other colors
I dont think its a matured color. For me I think its just Honda trying to differentiate themselves from the crowd which may or may not be a good thing in this case.

Anyway, nowadays body maintenance is not a big issue la. Thousands of car spas out there at affordable prices. I go to Regal Valet near TTDI. They are official detailers for BMW Quill, Lotus and Bentley. I pay only RM60 per month for unlimited washes.

Anyone have any idea how long is the current waiting period from their SA?
Most car dealerships have order books of between 50-80 units till last week. 80% are for the 1.5 Turbo models. And this will surely go up since the car has been previewed at Mines over the weekend.

So assuming a delivery of about 20 units a month for each dealership, that's about 3 months just to clear off the current pre launch bookings. Let alone new bookings after the launch.

So if u book immediately after the launch, be prepared to wait at least 4-5 months.

So, it going to be high possibility that the new Civic will be like HR-V too; but 1 year waiting list too long damn mannnn, can't afford to wait that longer
Then choose a dealer with the lowest number of bookings, make a booking now and get your loan pre approved.

hopefully the civic is priced competitively then only i will make a decision
The indicative prices are already out. The final price rarely goes higher than the indicative. So nothing to wait for I think.

I don't know why ppl are so bothered about FC. No matter how efficient the car is, FC is really down to the way you drive. If you drive un-economically then ull get high FC figures even if ure driving the most economical car on the planet. Nobody will be able to replicate any of the advertised FC figures in real life

Pointless discussing FC figures.

if i own a sport car, BMW or merc i wont be bother about fc

people buy civic for daily drive and family car, so a good fc is definitely needed, furthermore CVT + 1.5T with that figures laugh.gif

maybe fc is not important for you, but that might not be the case for others
FC is subjective. We're not comparing a BMW 5 Series vs a Proton Iriz to have a huge difference in FC. Most Asian cars within the B or C segment will have relatively similar FC values on paper. What differentiates is the driving style.

Most ppl focus too much on paper stats for FC without realising that they themselves are a major contributor to high FC readings.

He is loaded with plenty of cash on hand, for sure will not concerned about FC. People with great financial management will consider all this facts before purchasing a vehicle.
That's a silly statement to make actually. When I choose a car I use these criteria:

1) Price
2) Safety
3) Specifications
4) Design
5) Interior space
6) Build quality / durability
7) Ride, handling, power
8) After sales service
9) Overall maintenance cost (not just periodic maintenance)
10) Warranty terms
11) Comfort
12) Resale value
13) Future models / facelifts

And if u knew me from the earlier threads, u would have known that I tested my previous car (Optima K5) 9 times in 4 different states under different driving conditions before I purchased it.

Who will purchase a car without further checking? Different people will look for different criteria.
Huh? What further checking? confused.gif

The information you listed on previous comment.
The point i'm trying to make to u is don't blindly assume i'm cash rich and therefore not bothered about FC. I already explained earlier why I think discussing FC is a waste and it has nothing to do with my financial standing. So stop being silly.

Plus I have yet to come across anybody who tests cars the way I do before purchasing. This doesn't include the amount of time I spend researching / analysing online. I am very detailed when it comes to anything involving money.

My average FC for MPV (Toyota Veilfire 3.5 Executive Lounge) can only get 6km/l on highway drive. Average speed is 140~180 km/h.
On my previous K5, best FC reading (measured) was 7.52L/100km obtained while driving at 110kmph (90% highway). I covered a distance of 1011km with 76L of fuel.

For fast driving, ive managed to get an actual range of 780km on 80.26L of fuel travelling at about 160kmph with 80% highway and 20% normal roads.

Havent tested my current car. So yeah I do keep track of my FC unlike your earlier assumption.

Off topic a bit, did you regret the second hand value of your K5 when you sold it off? I did when I sold off my 2005 Optima. Less value than a Myvi 1.3 of the same age!
U only have regrets when u don't consider all factors when u make a purchase. I knew what I was gonna get when I sold it (especially coming after 9 yrs of Toyota).

But I got a good deal I think. Sold it to a dealer for 79K after 3 yrs of use. Purchased at 143K. So it retained 55% of its value despite a short 3 yr tenure.

if the paper couldn't even provide a proper fc readings, how do you think it can convince people to get it? if you say >80% of the consumers dont mind about fc then i got nothing to say lor

driving style or not, fc on the paper should serve as baseline for potential buyers to see the fc of the car, as a rough reference when doing comparison, dont tell me you want them to get the car only to complain the fc?
FC has never been and never will be the deciding factor for a potential purchaser. Most car buyers are taken up by design, price, color, interior space and specs. FC is usually only a discussion point on the LYN forums not in showrooms. Most ppl don't even know what is considered good FC in the first place. Most ppl still refer to FC as 20sen /L for example. bangwall.gif

No way Jetta can do 750 to 850 km on a single tank. Have tested before. Max 500-600 per tank. Normal highway driving. No hard revving.
Ure back I see. Been a long time.
