Let's also be realistic a bit leh. How much do those cars cost and how much does the Civic cost? It's a mainstream car so it needs to consider the cost of ownership and fuel economy as it first priority. Plus, they offer something too good, it will not only hurt their other markets, it would also make their car cost more.
As it is, the new Civic is the most powerful sedan in its class. And yes, if the US dyno is true, this car has the hp to keep up with a F10 520i, and it weighs a lot less too.
Focus 1.5 ecoboost has 180hp and 240nm but it weights more though.

Most car dealerships have order books of between 50-80 units till last week. 80% are for the 1.5 Turbo models. And this will surely go up since the car has been previewed at Mines over the weekend.
So assuming a delivery of about 20 units a month for each dealership, that's about 3 months just to clear off the current pre launch bookings. Let alone new bookings after the launch.
So if u book immediately after the launch, be prepared to wait at least 4-5 months.
If ur in KL, u can go back to hometown or smaller towns' SA to book.
Did any of u guys given the option to choose interior / seat color? The American civic comes with 3 colors namely biege, gray and black but my SA said Malaysian civic only comes with black.
Seems like indons not getting the full lcd dashboard and 3 angle reverse camera. With the lack of interior color option, its going to be a massive letdown if we are getting indon specs.
Any of u know how long it takes to be informed when the number plate tendering closes. Also how long it takes before we can register once we pay the full tendered amount?
I think the Thais and the Filipinos have the best spec in ASEAN with the RS Civic. Choice of colors also more than us..
Thai RS has rear spoiler and black grill which i dont fancy but it lacks rear aircon vent which I think is the crucial factor which separates the high and low end c-segment cars.
