Ask for receipt for proof of original date of purchase.
could be longer than 6 months (maybe already 3rd hand). Then can bargain for lower. This post has been edited by nill: Mar 10 2017, 12:01 AM |

Regarding the suspicious eShop code sale here's his/ her reply about this when I asked:
QUOTE(Slyke @ Mar 12 2017, 01:49 AM) Yes, it is legally obtained because I will provide not only Redemption Code but ALSO Control Number which you provide this information if you experience any issue with your code to Nintendo Customer Support. I can nuke those threads but he/ she can easily evade a repeat by posting a higher price. And afaik there's no announcement from the console companies as well as major retailers about this issue which makes this a bit complicated.I do have little knowledge of how Nintendo eShop works because I haven't tested this code myself on other country/region besides US. If you are concerned about my profit margins, all I can tell is that once USD rate hit 4.5 my price will jump so high to cover my costs. I'm asking the moderating team for some input and I appreciate more from here as well. Feel free to give your opinions. This post has been edited by Pr1me_Minister: Mar 12 2017, 05:04 AM |

The issue itself is that the seller Slyke is being accused of using stolen Amazon accounts to purchase the said eshop codes from Amazon. Can the seller provide proof of ownership (all eshop codes are purchased from the same Amazon account for example) - normally stolen eshop codes needs to be bought from several stolen Amazon accounts The fact that the seller is posting and asking in the shady website is very suspicious... Would you buy a brand new "new 3DSXL" if you were offered at RM600 - even though you have the proper receipt, it is still very suspicious... |

Just in case anybody missed the thread that was discussing about it, here's the compiled image about this guy. Is it suspicious? Yes. He can easily dodge any question considering that his method is social engineering. Plus the fact that he provides control number, like prepared just in case anything happens? I bought gift code for so many years, first time receive this kind of code alongside with the actual code. Can we take his words seriously considering he's from a social engineering background? I mean whether he is a fraud or not, he has a history of taking refund as an advantage. This post has been edited by MattAces: Mar 12 2017, 01:19 PM |

Which is the doubt advice always applies anywhere at anytime. Even if people doubt me, i'm fine with that. I even tell people not to proceed with a deal with me if you have your doubts.
Thing is, without concrete proof, we can't say anyone is anything. It's not that you guys don't know how the online sellers are and can be. Scams are still running around everywhere. the whole basket of apples is never all fresh. There's definitely a rotten one here and there. Always. But you will only know once you've taken an actual bite. Also, yer saya tau saya mahal. /cries |

To be honest I want this alleged scam op go big enough to get the retailers and console holders to take action and revoke the all the codes and purchases. Then I can go harder on those suspicious sales.
