Probably the same version of that game, but the card deck consists of cards with famous football players in the 80s. The deck of card is the equally distributed to two players, then the two players "deal" by putting those cards in the middle, the person in first turn will cup his hand and slam it down on the surface where the cards stack they both wagered, and see how many cards that the cupped hand slammed down on that surface can blow it upside down. Upside down meaning from face up to face down. Managing to do so, you keep those cards, and the next turn continues. Whoever manages to win the most (or all cards) win.

Pissing contest ah?

I think I'm the only old geezer as old as String, could be older by a year or two tongue.gif

If you know the origin of his nick, probably you're from our era as well

My childhood TV only has 2 channels, RTM1 & RTM2
and we watch the first malay-dub Ultraman on RTM2

And Atari 2600 was my first game console I played, before that were all game & watch

e-peen contest is sooooooo last decade, bruh. <-------trying "leet speak" like these vocabulary-challenged gamers/streamers/YouTuber. tongue.gif

My first fling with video games is that machine as well, with a single stick and a single red button on the side, purposely going to my neighbour's place waaaay early in the morning, so that I can play it there under the pretence of "buying frozen homemade icecream" he makes and sells for 10 sen a piece. Not aiskrim potong, but these "ice pops":

Where you can twist and break it into two halves in the middle because of that narrow section. It takes time to freeze though, and I used every single minute of that time hanging out at his place playing Pong on that thing.

Remember kids, those days we're not particularly worried about neighbours being perverts and molest you. Pedophilia or sexual perversion wasn't a rampant disease as it is right now, and we all know our neighbours very well with the Rukun Tetangga gatherings. I still remember my mom having baked kuih Seri Muka and kuih Bom and asking me to send a plate to the neighbours. That's what neighbours do in the 80s. Nowadays, you hardly see your neighbour's faces, much less do anything like these. Hell, you'd probably look the other way while driving out of the driveway, coz neighbours these days are obnoxious and inconsiderate of their adjoining neighbourhood and surroundings.

not to mention doors & gates are always wide open, we neighboring kids always go from house to house to play until one of the moms chase us out for being too noisy

my ice pops were more primitive and only come in one flavor, asam boi

We do have those too, but the neighbour moved on to the harder plastic narrow middle casing because if the ice pop wasn't frozen properly it'll bleed through (or spray out like a broken fire hydrant tongue.gif) when you bit that plastic at the end. Plus, breaking the pop in two (with that narrow middle helping) I can share it with my brother.

Some things never change though: the barbershop I go since kindergarten is still operating, and I still go there for my haircut, ......after all these 4 decades. Original owner passed away years back, the shop passed to his son, and I've had my hair cut by the father for half the timespan of my life, and now his son cuts my hair.

Still the same old facade, still have this thing around:

And for kids, that wooden plank they put on the arm rest so that kids can sit on that plank high enough for the barber to cut their hair. Still there.

I'll seek out modern "hairdressing salons" if I want my hair cut in the stylings of old lesbians. You know, with that thick hair at the top, but completely bald on the sides. Very androgynous and metrosexual. *can't say that with a straight face* tongue.gif

No one's playing Pocket Game here? I just downloaded it and played for like 20 minutes, find it quite impressive myself.

Already got a thread in the mobile games section. Not exactly the full Animal Crossing experience, but it does a good job capturing some if its essence that made the series great.

Though I wonder why it's officially available in Thailand and Singapore, but not Malaysia. doh.gif
