QUOTE(Vincent9696 @ Apr 7 2016, 04:08 PM) Does REIT pay better than ASX? What about if investor is the can't be bother to study or spend time on studying different company REIT/portfolio etc., then ASX is the most suitable?

The tax is for Malaysia? Like have to declare in LHDN filing?
Always wanted to have some exposure to REIT, but everytime I read I don't know where to start. When I look at those REIT website, full of company names and charts and tables of data, giving me stars. Also the brockerage fee and all that right not like ASX want to withdraw then withdraw/buy.

Just little curious for those of you who topup online successfully, can I know what is the date of transaction printed in your passbook? Is it the date you submit the topup or the day after? Like for example I submit AS1M 1000 on 4/4/2016 online. If success, the passbook should print 4/4/2016 or 5/4/2016?
This is from one of the banks ASNB topup info page: How long does it takes for ASNB to process my investment?
Successful transactions received before 5.00pm will be processed on the same day. Unit holders can update their ASNB investment book on the following working day (based on Federal Territory working days) ..
What I don't understand is what is it mean by "successful transaction received before 5" (by who and from who?) and who is processing that? Bank agent do the subscription and submit transaction info to ASNB or ASNB do the subscription and return back the status to bank?

Can we confirm what are the "safe" days to topup without losing interest? Is it 30/31st of month to 1st of month (last day and first day)? Or only 1st day?
I just heard from someone that they try to open an ASX account at a bank, the bank require all the forms filled up and they prepare the passbook even everything printed out onto the passbook (maybe 1 hour or longer depend on customer crowd), but later when they try to catch units but cannot catch until 100, they will say "cannot open" and the newly created passbook have to be destroyed. Is this true?

QUOTE(wu ming @ Apr 14 2016, 11:50 AM) Happened to my as1m. Manage to open account but no units so the book was destroyed. Isn't this a big waste of everybody's time? Guess they cannot capture unit first then open account. Need open first and try luck, later no units, destroy.

QUOTE(Ramjade @ Apr 14 2016, 11:57 AM) I topup anytine that got unit. That way I am guaranteed of dividends for the next month. Lowest amount y for the month so somehow your money must masuk by the 1st of every month to max dividends payouts. Fill up the form take less than 10 minutes. Yea, not the forms taking time but the queue/delay by the staff. My experience with ASNB transaction at the bank is even if they call your number in 5 minutes, they just take your request and passbook/ forms and ask you to sit down. And they wouldn't do your transaction until they clear off a large number of customers. Like put your ASNB stuff at the side. Later finally process finish most other customers things already, then they startup ASNB program on their computer and only want to start with yours. It seems they don't like to close their bank default software and do ASNB transaction for you immediately, unless maybe they have a special counter just for ASNB. QUOTE(nexona88 @ Apr 14 2016, 01:29 PM) u sure any counter? :hmm: once I ask rhb teller. Each branch have only have 2 counter link to asnb system. Cannot link all. System overload & will crash.. If not mistaken counter 2 & 7 :hmm: If my memory is not wrong, I've used the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th counter from the right for ASX transaction. Wow 2 system per branch or else overload? No wonder always system down.

QUOTE(honkkydorry @ Apr 15 2016, 11:09 PM) Why ASNB dont allow transactions on Sat for banks/pos office that are open? Am sure lots of working ppl wanna do transactions. Sometimes weekdays difficult to go banks. I think their system still depend on staff working at their PNB HQ to monitor in case of problems/emergency. So PNB staff switch on their server for the agents to connect only during their office hour, even close earlier like some said 3.30pm some banks don't want to do or cannot do ASNB transactions already. If system is good or they really want to spend budget for it, then should be no offline issues and they can open up for everybody to subscribe directly from their website like FSM?

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Apr 16 2016, 03:02 PM) then how Johor, Kelantan & Terengganu branch does transaction on Sunday? HQ not working on Sunday  Maybe their state HQ there works? ASNB offices there could be open on Sundays too. Oh I remember there was mention here about for ASX FP there is deadline for renewing the Fix Priced status? It affects all current ASX FP? And also read that AS1M have a deadline for tax exemption until 2019? The other funds have tax exemption deadline or not?

My relative who got an akaun remaja (now dewasa) with no IC number recorded in their system I mentioned a while back, he just told me he went to update passbook at bank and ask them to check the system. They say is true his IC is not inside, so he request them to provide what is recorded in the system and they gave him something they say is "ID No." that's formatted such as 00000000xxxxxxxxx (x are numbers). Even he also don't know what that number means, nothing like his IC or Birth Cert no. He ask them whether they can change it, the bank said they can only submit forms (cannot amend through their system) but is better to go direct to ASNB. One of the officer said he ever submit this form for his child too but for few years no action taken until he went directly to ASNB.

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Apr 19 2016, 12:56 PM) I don't know when is opening. wait for official announcement (if any) yup. that's why I not so keen to do transaction in ASNB. need cash (unless there's new opening / products. then can use bankers cheque. keep the passbook there for 1 week) :flex: Keep passbook with them is for them to hunt units or for them to clear the banker's cheque?
