Even if less than 2, wouldn't it make more sense to buy kenanga growth fund or east spring investment small cap since they significantly outperform ASG all the time?
*
Same here. Wouldn't touch it. Returns not good.

Is it advisable to transfer all your fd in asw? Put all eggs into a basket? hmm.gif
*
Yes. Like I said calculations showed is still safe for another 3 years (starting this year)

These funds will be defended and highly sensitive. Previous history shows us this. If bumis can treat it as a SA, I can treat it as a FD. One does not really need FD when we have stuff like ASX FP.

If something happen to amanah saham, klse will be in big trouble. rclxm9.gif

QUOTE(wywy2020 @ Apr 25 2016, 01:54 PM)
how is the dividend calculation method?
let say I deposit 15k in in February and withdraw 10k in April, do I still get the interest for the 10k for the duration of 2 months on the dividend pay out date 31st Aug?
*
Depends if you deposit on 1/2 or 2/2. If 1/2, you get the interest for February, March + April*
*say original amount is rm10k, you add rm15k on 1/2 and withdraw 10k in April, dividend for April will only be rm15k.
February rm10k + rm15k
March rm10k + rm15k
April rm10k + rm5k

If you deposit on 2/2 onwards, you only get for Feb**+ March + April **
**February rm10k
March rm10k + rm15k
April rm10k + rm5k

Hope is clear.

other than banks..  can we download the form from asnb website?  I mean the form to let others use ur book to deposit money into asx on behalf..
*
Don't think so. Just take lots of it. Find a bank which don't take the form. That way, you can topup for others on their behalf without losing the letter.

serious? can try... thumbup.gif  thanks.

Maximise your asb and asb2 first up to RM200k and don't withdraw. That way, the limit will keep increasing every year (the amount of dividend received + whatever amount you have inside = your new limit). Once reach the RM200k, then only buy asw2020.

If I were you, I will move all asw into asb and keep only rm100 in asw2020 (so no need to fill up form again to open. By keeping rm100 inside, account is not close)

Bro,... we should have been born Bumis,... biggrin.gif then we can sweep up everything,... biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif There must be a reason why we are so under-privileged, must queue, getting snubbed-at, ignored, etc, etc,...just to buy units. Others can just walk in and buy at their wishes. So easy to make money,..... thumbup.gif

Alas,... we still have to survive with our best effort,....if such cannot make it, there is really no excuse at all,...
*
Do not envy people but work yourself. Join them for the privilege (getting chance to buy amanah saham). Actually I am quite thankful they open up amanah saham to us. At least noob like me can grow the money 6% before going and find other stuff. Imagine if got no amanah saham. The only low risk stuff we will have is FD and miserable SA.

but do u know mostly the taxpayers who contribute tax the most?
*
I know. That's why I already plan to pay less tax. First step is avoid paying GST where possible (already doing that), 2nd, cut out income tax as much as possible.

Acts like will. Only will takes longer to distribute amanah saham cash. For pengisytiharan, you can let your next of kin receive the money in terms of units.

Since NAV price will drop after dividend, how long does it take to go back up? 1 month, 2 months? Assuming no "shock" in world stage or no local "drama" hmm.gif

QUOTE(plumberly @ Apr 29 2016, 05:03 PM)
This got me thinking. I thought ASG is VP type and thus one can withdraw at any time without loosing out on the dividend. Correct me if I am wrong here.

Say RM100,000 in the balance. I withdraw RM80,000 on 1 May. Assuming Jan to Dec financial year. Interest on RM80,000 for Jan to Apr will be given on Jan next year while RM20K will earn the full year dividend.

No?

If my understanding is right, then whether you withdraw now or later depends on your economy outlook. If good, then wait. If bad, withdraw now without loosing out on the dividend.

Cheerio.
*
Dividend in ASG doesn't really matter however dividend does increase the number of unit. We all know that after dividend is declared for a UT, the NAV will drop.

So to maximise the profit, we need increase in units + higher/original NAV since final amount = NAV x no. of units.

Correct me if I am wrong. if I withdraw straight after dividend is distributed, left hand = right hand. That way, cannot make a profit as NAV drop but no of units increase.

Movement of NAV depends on the performance of underlying portfolios
Thus, nobody will let u know when

Still there's always a time frame. I don't need to know when. I just need to know around how many months time.
