Yah, that's why be patient a bit and wait for the cooler to arrive.
aspect it would be slightly more expensive as cooler is taxable items according to our dearest custom.
The performance definitely would be WOW compared to the stock cooler.
In the mean time probably just place a 12cm fan around the VGA zone to help cooling ...

it's normal if it's the load temperature ...
yes, you could still add a fan nearby the chipset zone to bring down the temperature ...

if ATI Tool can then could try RIVA TUNER ,,,,
If either those two also doesn't work that u have to start google around for it ...
it was the same when I started to use 2900XT ..

@serez
Do u run it passively or with a fan ..... HR-01 works well with just a low RPM fan that pushed least amount of air...
I used to use it with stock E6600 with a 12cm fan that runs about 700RPM with temperature idle at 35c load at 48c ...
Even if it's equipped with high CFM fan the result may not be promising at all ..

I would humbly recommend u to get a replacement cooler for better OC ..
as well as keeping temperature low as it could ....

hmm .. that's not a bad cooler ...
U sure ur thermal paste is apply correctly .. btw which thermal paste that u used ..
make sure the base of heatsink is cleaned properly same goes to CPU HIS..
do it again with a good thermal paste like Artic Cooling MX-2 or Artic Silver 5.
and make sure the fan isn't running very low rpm during load ...

probably u need a real thermal sensor equipment to find out ....
whether it's something with the sensor probe or it's really so hot ...

It shouldn't be any problem with the cooler .... I'm using E6600 for 1.5 years but never incur CPU idle and load temperature as high as yours..
Did you overclock ? if not then I bet it's problem with the temperature sensor.. either get your processor tested on another mobo to clarify or get a temperature sensor equipment.

one of the easiest way is to get a air spray can and blow all the dust as way ..
that would leave you with a almost dust free cleaned system ... better prepare a vacuum to suck the dust blew by the air spray can ....
I don't like to let the so called technician at the shop to handle my PC ..
Not every technician would treat your PC nicely ..
take a bit of initiative to learn how to clean PC regularly to avoid overheat issue..

Try to install the mobo utility of Gigabyte as well ..
then compare the three set of results .. most likely u would fine two of them very similar or almost identical then the other one is the inaccurate result ..

@tanuki As long as it doesn't hang it should be fine ,,, of course trying different temperature reading application or another third party cooler would be possible way to determine the accuracy of the temperature result u have got right now..
@matyrze Running stock cooler ?? u could try speedfan or coretemp to verify everest result...

@matyrze If u are getting consistent result from difference software ..
then it would be be u try to re mount ur cooler with good thermal paste from Artic Cooling or Artic Silver or Even Tuniq ...
@mmohdnor Are you sure Freezer 7 Pro could be mounted on P4 478 socket coz if not mistaken Prescott 2.4 Ghz should be using socket 478 ..
hope I'm wrong ...

TX-2 is more recognized than TX-1 for sure .. and the reason is it performs on par with AS5 and MX-2 ... I'm using it myself and find the result is just impressive as MX-1 and AS5 ..

Yo bro, how u get the BIOS load temperature ... ??
Usually in BIOS mode, CPU is not stressed so the temperature may not rise to load condition ...

hmm I wonder the internal sensor chip is functional correctly or not ..
You could try ur CPU and cooler on another mobo and check out the temperature.
see whether it shows the same result as your current mobo or not ..

My temperature summary ... recorded using Asus PC Probe, Speedfan and GPU-Z Hardwares based on my signature Idle to Load: CPU 46c 50c MB 34c 35c NB 41c 45c SB 37c 40c GPU 1 45c 54c GPU 2 53c 58c I've faced following doubt and uncertainty: 1. idle to load temperature gap are minimal. 2. significant increases for both idle and load CPU temperature (previous temperature using P965 mobo 34c to 45c) This post has been edited by Doom: Apr 17 2008, 12:20 AM
