i think he meant by increase the fare of Uber / Grab to level with the taxis

Dream long long lah.....let's look at business perspective, from Uber/ Grab perspective, this is volume game, so long there is demand and supply, as long as they able to match the rider with driver, they earned 20% or 25% already. It doesn't matters even if the ride is just 100m, as Uber does not have any operating cost at all (unlike drivers, i.e. petrol, car maintenance, toll, car depreciation, etc).....all they provide is the software, and the cost of software, it's already "fixed" and completed, it now, how fast they can recover back the software cost. Their office, just a few plastic chair and those long catering table, seriously, they can just set up and pack within 15 min, can even setup under the tree if the local authority allowed.

Yes, they can raise the price, but, then, the demand will drop, then, which ultimately, will affect their money too. So, if can, they want to set the fare at RM0.10 per km if possible, to encourage even more riders...coz for every RM0.10 fare, they collect RM0.02 or RM0.03 oledi......but, they can't, coz there will be no drivers at all

.....so, dream long long lah.....there will be only further fare reduction only lah, fare hike, unless there is time where there is no longer sufficient drivers around lah, then, they will do what they do now lor....surge pricing
But, with latest news from government to regulate the ride hailing, required driver to register, must have dunno what PSV license lah, vehicle got to go thru Puspakom lah, with so much red-tape, it will indirectly kill off many drivers too, as all these will cost money (another way government milking money from the rakyat) and time, discourage many part-timers to do Uber and Grab. And, currently, I know, many interested to try, it easy, just go register, and you can drive, start with part time, while holding to day job, later only converted to full time if they find worth it (this is rather subjective). But, with so much additional hassle, doubt many will continue, and it only replace with current batch of taxi drivers
