Shell PD refinery is sold to Shandong Group (citation needed) from China, subject to shareholder approval & clearance from Bursa Saham Malaysia (since Shell Refining is a public listed entity), and talks over the grapevine saying that the transaction value of this sale is lower than market price (citation needed) and myself wonder why Shell Malaysia is desperate disposing this oil refinery (maybe the facilities itself sudah agak tua hence maintenance cost tinggi) but still it just recently undergo a revamp works by Fluor few years back (Shell Hijau Gasoil Project).

My personal opinion - it is better kena jual to China investor at least boleh selamatkan pekerjaan especially for the OPS staff at that refinery rather than converting it into terminal & bunkering ajer.

I always put my belief that floaters are the future. But nowadays its hard to find work cos nobody is converting F(P)SO vessels anymore.....
