Its been a while since the last time i went job hunting. Old oledi dont want to hop from job to job and conpany to company. Need to go back to shipbuilding. Field operator life looks very fragile these days. Oo....well, thats life.

Seems that Supply Chain of McDermott has issue several offer letters to its candidates... Deparment Cost & Contract sedang menunggu... Few Finance and HR peoples already onboard... And now they actively recruiting for Engineering and Marine Department...
*
One thing i dont understand, why is McDermott recruiting? What projects do they have now in times when everyone is quite. These guys service the field operators. If field operators are keeping quite McDermott is recruiting? Insight a bit.

Probably the PanMalaysian T&I contract that is scheduled to be renewed (with revised cost rates of course) in 3Q this year, has some bearing on McDermott's current unusually active "recruitment activities".
*
What T&I and HUC jobs now still? Confuse me

GKOM, which is part of MISC subsidiaries. Similar like EPOMS which into O&M business. Banyak betul duit MISC hahahaha

I only know one fella working at GKOM. GKOM payscale is higher than EPOMS (for offshore operation)
*
FPSO Ventures payscale also higher than EPOMS.

I'm not thinking of moving jobs right now, especially if its o&g related. Just laying low. Making preliminary search and applications to go back to shipbuilding and marine conversion if i can. O&G sucks nowadays.

Fresh SPM. Sini apply. Senang nak masuk O&G marine related project in the future especially for floater conversion project or even on O&M prospect at FSO/FPSO etc

I used to attend the interview at 2001 and I failed very bad hahahaha
*
Did FPSO Kikeh, FSU Lekas, FPSO Cendor and MAMPU 1 conversion. Never had i saw even 1 Alam graduate in the PMT. No joke. Mostly are university graduates with prior overseas stints in korean or japanese shipyards doing newbuilding.

My opinion is if you are selected, work hard, take all the tickets until you got Master//Captain or Chief Engineer COC.
Then if you think to work onshore or jump ship, go for at least Marine Superintendent, Technical Superintendents or maybe can join Class (ABS, LR etc) as a ship/marine surveyor.
*
Exactly. For O&M onboard floaters or their superintendents yes...likely will be Alam grads since they are all seafarers.

ophir ni new operator ke kat msia?

Ophir Production S/B is a joint venture operator consist of 60% Octanex, 20% Scomi and 20% Vestigo. Was awarded the Ophir Field RSC contract a few years back. Their 1st oil date was deferred to 2017. This was the 2nd deferment.

Ophir field architecture calls for a WHP with a FPSO vessel. The WHP is now under fabrication at Muhibbah while initially the FPSO would be MAMPU 1 but due to the 1st oil delay MPM had requested OPSB to utilize EPV Balai Mutiara which is operating at Balai/Bentara field.
