Since you already have a moped, ask yourself:
1. Do I actually need a car?
2. Is the superbike a luxury purchase?
3. Do I need either one immediately or can it wait?

Sorry to be blunt, but these are hard times. If you don't need either urgently consider saving up first. At least you'll get more bang for your buck in terms of specs-per-ringgit when the economy improves.

The downside of riding a moped is the rain. Im so interested of owning a superbike but a car is also important right.

a lot of uncertainty right now. i suggest u to hold.

while everyone thinks only oil and gas sector affected, sooner or later it will affect all sector as 1/3 our nation income came from this industry. Country has no money. Investor not coming / pulling out. Purchasing power reduced. You wouldnt know what will happen to your company / you.

Unless if you have cash then go ahead bro. YOLO. hahah

Oh my. Same dilemma as me. Lol.

If you are recently employed, stick to your moped. Superbike is a luxury item, and maintenance quite heavy (suits, helmets, road tax, loan, insurance). If you are targeting 1,000 cc superbike please don't take it to work especially KL. Litre bike's engine so much heat when not moving if you stuck in jamm. Manuever also susah.

But syok ah come in office with jacket, full face helmet people admire you...but take my words, that excitement won't last long.

I had a ZX-10 before, used it for work but cannot stand. Ended up as a weekend bike go ride to Genting only.

I would suggest stick to moped and get a car if you can. Don't get trapped in this luxury item thing. With your current status, only go for your needs not wants.

Not really, no. I urge you to hold back on the purchase, at least until things look a little better. Plus, securing a loan is getting difficult with most banks tightening lending requirements. Unless you're earning over RM4500 with no existing commitments, you may not qualify.

If you're going to ignore most of the advice here and buy either one anyway, get the car. It serves more utility than a superbike does.

In the book Rich Dad, Poor Dad this is the first mistake quoted by the author that new grads make, buying liabilities and getting into bad debts instead of buying assets.

get cheap second hand car. look for an entry level property. No need multi million unit, just an apartment or single storey house is better than nothing.

Do you really need the car / super bike? Or you just want it. It's two different matter. B full license doesn't mean you'd have to ride a super bike. I also have B full, but ride a 125cc scooter to work (15 minute ride only). Convenient and practical. I use my car if the weather doesn't permit safe ride (heavy rain, thunderstorm, bad haze etc).

Short term economy is bleak. Be prudent.

It's not stupid its being wiser, be calculative. Our economy in coming years does not look good. cry.gif

Lets do the math... how many time a year do you go back?

Every week -> 56 times a year,
every month -> 12 times,
Every festive season -> 3-4 times a year. (You can just rent a very fancy car at a fraction of cost of owning it)

You'll be paying 500 or more for a car that sits doing nothing. Such a waste. Factor it with your salary (unless you bring home 20k a month whistling.gif ). Do calculate.

Since you're still single, it's better you put your desire on hold. If you're going to get marry within 2-3 years, you'll need lots of money, then you will need to have a car for a family travel. Car is important but a correct choice of car also important. Superbike is a luxury item. Last time I also want to buy a superbike, after a friend of mine got into accident which broke part of his pelvis, I straight away put a stop to my dream and decided for a car that is comfortable, safer & fun to drive as a trade for the superbike. Once you ride a superbike, there's no way you will just ride at 110km/h. Speed kills. Just my 2 cent

ts, as bank is tightening its loan, they now may only consider approving one that get employed over a year in same company

those bank officers now also scared being accountable for no-performing loan by defaulters, as retrenchment can happen in any industry now.

Of course if you have a family of your own, you'll need a car. No way you can have a decent family life without a car. Till then, that can wait.

I've been through 3-4 economic downturn. It's not easy and nasty, unless you're from rich lord family with endless supply of RM, $, Yen, etc.

Not to scare you, but be prudent for the rainy days to come. This year is another one to come.

Car only better than bike in terms of safety and prestage only. Other than that bike wins hands down.....Bike might need RM20 petrol but if car, be prepared to fork out 10X more at RM200. Regular oil and filter change for car - about RM100, bike- RM15. Road tax about RM100 depends on CC, bike - just RM2. Toll for car....probably RM50-100, depending on how much toll road U travel per mth; bike - FREE.
Car ----jam everywhere and might take U 1-2 hrs to reach your destination, bike ---- haha - 20-30 min. Parking for car - probably RM50-100/mth. Bike --- mostly free and can usually park anywhere, so save time to walk from parking to the place U want to patronize.

Sorry if out of topic... My opinion, I think better u go buy house...
Buy the one that you afford (subsale maybe)... And start saving....
Becuase either car and superbike the price will reduce from time to time... but not the house price.... You may buy car or superbike later with more advanced function/tech...

No need to buy la. Just use the money to take care of your moped. The extra money simpan untuk belanja kawin. So nanti no need to take loan for kahwin. Lagi worth it bro. Bebas hutang lepas kawin.. mmg syiok.

buy cheap small car. for your life safety, save a little bit of fuel, cover from sun and rain and comfortable for gf.

if bike, not recommended. rain and oil slippery hazard and stone from lorry. your family worry when your home unusual late. but can come home early. fuel no problem.

Why not a sportbike first? It will be more than enough to commute around the city. Something like the z250SL or duke. These are very affordable option and doesn't take a chunk off your monthly expenses.

It is still rather stylish. Apart from seasoned biker, for the rest of us.....whether a sportbike, superbike or super sport all is the same to most ppl, hahaha.

Can tell that if u bought a car, everyday u will think about a bike. When u saw a rider passes by, nanti u sure banyak thinking. As a car is a necessity and bike is a desire.

I know how it feels because I was barred from riding for many years due to an accident. Until my wife cannot tahan my obsession keep looking at bikes, she bought me a Z as birthday present. 😁
