if you are stil young, and below 28, buy a superbike

once you get a girlfriend, you need a car

Since you already have a moped, ask yourself:
1. Do I actually need a car?
2. Is the superbike a luxury purchase?
3. Do I need either one immediately or can it wait?

Sorry to be blunt, but these are hard times. If you don't need either urgently consider saving up first. At least you'll get more bang for your buck in terms of specs-per-ringgit when the economy improves.

The downside of riding a moped is the rain. Im so interested of owning a superbike but a car is also important right.

a lot of uncertainty right now. i suggest u to hold.

while everyone thinks only oil and gas sector affected, sooner or later it will affect all sector as 1/3 our nation income came from this industry. Country has no money. Investor not coming / pulling out. Purchasing power reduced. You wouldnt know what will happen to your company / you.

Unless if you have cash then go ahead bro. YOLO. hahah

You suggested me to hold for awhile. But for how long?

Do you really need the car / super bike? Or you just want it. It's two different matter. B full license doesn't mean you'd have to ride a super bike. I also have B full, but ride a 125cc scooter to work (15 minute ride only). Convenient and practical.  I use my car if the weather doesn't permit safe ride (heavy rain, thunderstorm, bad haze etc).

Short term economy is bleak. Be prudent.

I think i need a car for travel like balik kampung or something. And at the same time im really into superbikes since i was in highschool. Thats why i have this stupid dilemma.

It's not stupid its being wiser, be calculative. Our economy in coming years does not look good.  cry.gif

Lets do the math... how many time a year do you go back?

Every week -> 56 times a year,
every month -> 12 times,
Every festive season -> 3-4 times a year. (You can just rent a very fancy car at a fraction of cost of owning it)

You'll be paying 500 or more for a car that sits doing nothing. Such a waste. Factor it with your salary (unless you bring home 20k a month  whistling.gif ). Do calculate.

You got a point there. But eventually i will need a car in the future right. Wont think that i will ride my moped till im 50s or something.

Of course if you have a family of your own, you'll need a car. No way you can have a decent family life without a car. Till then, that can wait.

I've been through 3-4 economic downturn. It's not easy and nasty, unless you're from rich lord family with endless supply of RM, $, Yen, etc.

Not to scare you, but be prudent for the rainy days to come. This year is another one to come.

Thanks for your advice. Really appreciate it. Feels kinda down with the economy right now. Sigh.

Car only better than bike in terms of safety and prestage only. Other than that bike wins hands down.....Bike might need RM20 petrol but if car, be prepared to fork out 10X more at RM200. Regular oil and filter change for car - about RM100, bike- RM15. Road tax about RM100 depends on CC, bike - just RM2. Toll for car....probably RM50-100, depending on how much toll road U travel per mth; bike - FREE.
Car ----jam everywhere and might take U 1-2 hrs to reach your destination, bike ---- haha - 20-30 min. Parking for car - probably RM50-100/mth. Bike --- mostly free and can usually park anywhere, so save time to walk from parking to the place U want to patronize.

But the maintenance for a superbike is quite high. rclxub.gif

I wrote "bike" 8 times , never once did I wrote superbike. Did U know 1 Penang guy rode his Honda kapchai all the way to UK from Penang ?; I think most cars would have broken down long time ago B4 reaching UK.

Im asking about buying a car or superbike though. Why do u need to explain bout 'bike' when i already owned one. That doesnt make sense. Sorry
