Ubuntu 8.04 works like charm on Vostro 1400.
Tri-boot with Vista and Leopard(sound and wifi didn't work).

is there any chance on running ubuntu on MSI Wind? Planning to get one but not sure Ubuntu will run well on MSI wind

the last time i heard was some hardware does not run properly due to missing drivers in MSI Wind netbook. I hope this has been rectified. smile.gif

Depending on your mode of installation. If you are going to use Wubi to install it from within your Windows, then just mount the disc image should be sufficient. But if you want it in a separate partition, you will have to burn it in a disc.

buying Lenovo Thinkpad SL400 last Oct. Running fine with Fedora10 now.
If you want to install older version, please make sure update the kernel to 2.6.27 above.. If not, you will have a hard time for wireless driver (iwl5100)

Using DELL XPS M1330, tried ubuntu 7.10++, fedora 9++, and slackware 12.0++, currently using windows xp and slackware 12.2, don have problem so far nod.gif ~~

Ubuntu 8.10 works out of the box for HP Compaq nx6325

But have not fully tested all features. Seems Wifi needs a little bit of tweaking.

All this is made possible by using Wubi and a new 500G HDD! smile.gif

mine is using Dell Latitude D630 ..
been using CentOS 5.2 for development work. for more than 1 year.
- so far not much problem.. (wifi, bluetooth, sound ) working fine.

another one is Compaq Pressario V2000 ..
been running Ubuntu 8.14 .. a bit slow compared to the other one..
