WAAAAAHHH actually I do have a same problem with you tamtam,
mine also... mine is ah gong's old nikon's film camera got it last year but i've no idea coz im still newbieee!!

i wish to take lomo photos without using lomo cameras!! please please anyone help us!!

would you mind telling wat kind of "lomo" pics you expect?
there are quite a number of lomo cams out there and each with different results.

if u are expecting contrasty, saturated, reddish, blueish, yellowy pics and so on, you can achieve that by using slides and cross processed it regardless of using a lomo cam.

hi d8kd,

yes i want to get  yellowish or more to greenish photos...
then i did it before but i couldn't get nicer outcomes  rclxub.gif
maybe because i use greenish plastic slides which i found it in my grandfather's house could be wrong slide lol

unsure what film is this, but it's taken with long exposure a.k.a the "B" mode or "Bulb" mode hence you can see the light trails.

user posted image
this is taken with Holga cam with 120mm film. By using this camera, at times, you'll have a hard time finding the films from average shops out there and it can take only 12 or 16 pics in a roll. I think developing fee is higher too. But, with a little modification, you can also take 35mm with Holga, even with the sprocket holes. thumbup.gif

and yes, if you want greenish and yellowish pics, you can't go wrong with kodak ebx.
like philipcs said, velvia will tends to lean towards reddish most of the time but it may hav some surprises under different lightning.

by looking at the pic below, you can't see the usual reddish produce by velvia, but indeed it was taken with fuji velvia 100

agfa precisa ct100, one of my fav slide, x-pro will give a saturated blue as usual.

and do not under estimate the power of negative films, it produces beautiful natural colors

i'm not sure if we are referring to the same slides, but the slides we mentioned here is a type of film. are you referring to some kind of filters instead?

Thank you very very very very very very muuuuuuuuucccccccccccccccchhhhhhhhhhhhh guys!!!

now i'm super duper clear now, yeah as d8kd said, i was using classic toy filter on top of the lense, sorry i said it wrong it is not the slides.

now i realized why i can't take yellowish or greenish photos because of slides...
currently im using Fujifilm Superia X-TRA 400 35mm Color Film because my daddy said higher number is better LOL

anyways thanks a lot really!! i can't wait to get Kodak EBX 100!! will try it and see how it goes!!

guys your collections are really beautiful, i wish i can take one of those one day  biggrin.gif

thank you thank you soo much!!

rclxms.gif  rclxms.gif  rclxms.gif
*
you are welcome. share with us your collection later biggrin.gif

400 is the iso number. not really higher is better, it depends on usage. normally, the lower iso tends to give a finer grain.
but using high iso gives the advantage while shooting in a darker environment becos we can then use a faster shutter speed to avoid hand shakes.

if you want kodak ebx, check out the fuji store (foto mega) at wangsa maju. i think they still have stock now selling at RM17 per roll.

Added on June 17, 2009, 9:42 pmoh by the way ... to addon, i'm not sure if using color filters will turn a pic into yellowish or greenish anot. as far as i know, those filters are use when shooting in black and white.

but do check out the lomo Colorsplash Flash or Colorsplash Camera, they should give what you expect.

Sample Pics of Colorsplash Camera
Sample Pics of Colorsplash Flash

basically, the two do the same thing by flashing colorful flash. smile.gif

WOW guys damn impressed!!  :clap:thanks for you all advises.

I also did like zaro7, using a sun glasses as a filter and it was not so cool outcomes.

but if i want to get fisheye kinda design, I should use ISO 100 slides and take under the strong sun??
*
fisheye comes with fix aperture and shutter speed. if u wanna use iso 100 films, you gotta shoot under strong sun, if not use films with higher iso, maybe iso 400.

Hello there.

I have a Holga GCFN. Bought it not too long ago. First roll of film is still in the camera. biggrin.gif Haven't finished taking the entire roll yet. Still a newbie, but I can clear some stuff up.
If you wanna get a holga or others like diana+, I suggest you go through ebay, there are a few sellers that sells them at a cheaper price compared to lomography.com or folio.
120 film does not take 120 photos, it still takes 24 photos only. 120 is the format, like 135 and so on.
Slide films are films that you would want if you want to do cross-processing.
135 is the normal size for normal cameras, but it's a smaller format for Holga, you use 135 for sprocket-hole.
120 is the basic/original format for Holga.
Hope this helps.
biggrin.gif

QUOTE(ifer @ Jun 23 2009, 08:04 PM)
what camera give you 24 shots on a 120mm film?
*
none. hahaha ...
it should be the films itself rather than the camera.
120 cannot take 24 photos. it can take 12 photos.
220 is the extended version which can take 24 photos.

wat films r u looking for? if normal negative films, u can get in major photo shop.
if u want slides film, check out foto mega in wangsa maju, e-six and keat camera in pudu, photosun and ysphoto in ss2.
expired films, check out photography forums, sometimes some ppl might wanna let go theirs.

lomo l-case get from lomographyasia if not check out folio, mooks, rooms, but i doubt they have ready stock.

d8kd,

i was just being sarcastic when i asked which camera gives you 24 exposures for 120mm. besides, 120mm films number of exposures is determined by the camera not the film.

meaning to say

a mamiya 645 gives you 16 exposures
a hasselblad gives you 12 exposures
a mamiya rb67 gives you 10 exposures

and we are still using the same film: 120mm
*
hahaha... i knew that u know the answer for sure. but i just wanna clear the doubts for others who have read voidbutterflyx's post.
btw... i think lomographer seldom use such a high end camera as u mentioned.

for holga equipped with 120mm, it can gives either 16 or 12 exposures depends on which mask is used.

went to mooks today, they only have "hip bag" in stock.  sad.gif
bought some negative around kota raya area, i think it's quite a bargain ( below rm10, well, I'm nt so sure about that tho,  tongue.gif it's been 9 years since my last purchase)

what's the price for film developing @ photosun?
what package do they have?

blush.gif I'm still very new to the world of lomography
*
hip bag is ok mah ... cheaper too and u can carry more things with hip bag. in fact i prefer hip bag more than the L case.

RM5 for developing negative. RM8 for cross process. e-6 developing not sure. have not developing slide with e-6 before.
scanning is around RM7/8 per roll. cd is about RM4 i think, can bring ur own if i was not wrong.

they do have a special price for members (for printing).

Hi, Im a n00b to lomo but interested in getting a camera but I dont really know much about them. So far, i find myself interested in Holga and Diana pics. Aproximately how much are they? and is it possible to get a digital one? its seems like most of which Ive seen use film
*
check out from ebay if you wanna get holga, they are some sellers from HK selling at a much lower price.

diana can order from lomographyasia:

Diana F+
Diana F+ with Flash

there is no lomo in digital unless u photoshopped it, but tat will defeat the purpose of LOMO.
though digital seems to be cheaper in long run and you can immediately see the result.

but film to me is expect the unexpected. biggrin.gif

depends on camera and films.
for example, fisheye camera gives u 180 degree view, holga 135bc gives u black corner and so on.
as for films, it gives u different color.

Hiya everyone.
I recently got caught (again) by the lomo bug. tongue.gif
Am thinking about saving up for my very first lomo. So now I'm surveying and considering which lomo to get.
Anyone can recommend me a good and affordable first lomo?

I was thinking of getting either:
Nico Digi (because it's digital = cheaper xD )
Ultra Wide and Slim (because it's quite cheap i think)
Fisheye 2 (because seems to have lots of good review)

What say you? smile.gif
*
no and never for digi lomo.
i initially started as a digi cam user but hav slowly abandoning digital.
many would say u can use photoshop to produce the lomo effect but no matter how close it is, still, film processed lomo gives the best out of all.

you can start with cameras like uws or holga 135bc. it really depends on what you wan, if you want wide angle, get uws. if you want the effect of dark corner, get holga 135bc, if you want the round shape and curvy-like effect, get fisheye.

but out of all, my all time favorite is lca rclxm9.gif thumbup.gif

Haha alright. No Nico Digi then. tongue.gif

So now it's between Fisheye and UWS.
I really like the Fisheye effect though. Something different I guess..
Diana Mini looks crazy cute too le..
Argh! Too many choices. >.<
LCA is really expensive right? I doubt I can afford it. ^^;

But I think I will get Fisheye 2. Since the effect is really not something other cameras can achive.
Maybe in the future can aim for LCA and Diana Mini. biggrin.gif

Best place to get Fisheye 2? I think one of my friend got hers at Mooks for about RM200.
*
right choice, no nico digi. remember that with films you always expect the unexpected outcome. biggrin.gif
i once owned a Fisheye but sold it off, bcos it's not the type of camera that i want to shoot in long run.
yes, the circular image may looks cool and funky but then i shoot most in scenery and especially during travel, therefore i felt that fisheye doesn't suit me.

lca+ is about RM9++ to RM1K. optionally, you can opt for lca from ebay which is around RM5-6xx.

you can get fisheye from mooks or from online seller.

nice onee. im still confused on which to get now. Either Holga GCFN 120 with 35mm adapter, Holga GN + colourflash 120 with 35mm adapter, Diana F+ or Diana mini both with flash. Basically im having a hard time choosing between holga and diana. any suggestions people ? mind giving me some details and facts and pricing ? im new in lomo like 5 days back so im lack in lomo knowledge but i already have the money rdy to get one hahah. am gonna visit wondermilk on thursday tho so gotta decide fastt. owh and where could i get the 35 mm adapter and how much issit normally ? please bear with me since im a newbie here sorry and cheeeers for lomolife  rclxms.gif

go for diana mini if you wanna shoot in 35mm.
if you want holga, get the GN version so you can attach it with different flash. the 35mm adapter is not cheap.
diana F+ seems to have more adapters than the holga, between holga and diana, i would opt for diana smile.gif
