QUOTE(yokoloco @ Feb 1 2016, 11:32 AM) JT will eventually leave.. but the worst part is, where is our replacement?? Cahill + Zouma with Matt as backup?? I hope new coach next season demands to extend JT's contract for another season... Let him guides those youngsters

I am a big fan of Terry, but it is the decision that is best for the club. He isn't any young anymore and he definitely does not have the pace and stamina to win the likes of Bale, Messi. If this piece of news is true, sad to see him leave. Been watching him since 2000. It's not going to be the same Chelsea anymore, but we will be better and stronger!

Mixed feelings about this. He'll always be a legend to everyone related to CFC, and hiddink has managed to get the best out of him within a short space of time. This shows he clearly still has it in him, and lately his positioning has been nothing short of superb.
As much as I'd like to see him hang up his boots right here at the bridge, dynames has rightly pointed out it has just as much to do with his age,as it does his paypacket. He's definitely one of the highest earners at the club (and rightly so) and CFC just doesn't operate in that manner anymore. As with the case regarding lamps and didier, we (literally) can't afford to keep our legends in the squad for the sake of bringing up the younger players.
Personally, I'd rather he leaves on good terms with his 'legs' still intact, rather than we wait for them to really go and every mistake he makes is greeted by uncomfortable groans from the stamford bridge faithful. It's just extremely unfortunate that this announcement has to coincide with one of the worst seasons in the club's history. Remember how lampsy's final season here panned out?yep. Wouldn't want JT going through the same thing.
All the best to him,I just pray the club has a structured plan whether it's blowing 50 million on stones/marquinhos in the summer or throwing miazga / kalas / christensen / hector straight into the deep end. But, I wouldn't count against the new coach trying to pair zouma with cahill either.
Not the easiest decision by the board, but as usual they're only looking out for best interests of CFC.
